Chapter 113
Punishing Traitors
Ryan's POV
I focused on hearing the rhythm of the heartbeat as the couples spoke to see if they were lying. Liam and Dante had done a thorough work. They were able to get the mole in the pack of those who hosted Gabriel and the amazing part was that their house was some miles close to the pack house gate.
This must have given Gabriel the leverage he used against us.
"My mate is right Alpha, we promise that we didn't do it to harm you or the pack member!" The woman, Selene fell to her knees.
Her husband Gaius, fell to the ground and bowed his head to the floor. According to their statement the husband met Gabriel in a bar, took pity on him and took him to the house, he had no idea that Gabriel was wanted.
"Ryan." I lifted my head and saw Tasha, she bowed her head and walked to my side.
She offered a smile which I returned, then she stood next to me and kept quiet.
I knew why she was here even without her talking.
"Please Alpha we were only trying to help the needy" He cried and wailed.
"Alpha Ryan, I plead their cause." Tasha declared and the couple gasped.
I wasn't planning on punishing them, I wanted to warn them that the next thing it happens they should inform the authorities before allowing people in.
Not all strangers should be allowed to stay.
"They don't mean harm Alpha Ryan, if you punish them now it will only make them skeptical in lending a hand in the future." Tasha pleaded.
I hummed and nodded there was silence in my office as they were all looking at me expectantly.
"Fine, since no lives were lost and Luna Natasha has pleaded on your behalf then I'll let you go." I declared and they screamed excitedly.
"But on one condition!" I uttered and they all went mute.
"You both will have to learn the rules and regulations of the pack again and report to the Delta of the pack that you have done so." I completed and they breathed a sigh of relief including Tasha.
I dismissed them but before they left they knelt and thanked Tasha for her benevolence, I noticed the smile and confidence that she had on as they greeted her.
"So?" I pulled Tasha so she could sit on my lap.
"Well, I'm grateful you didn't throw them in the dungeon." She giggled and I pinched the bridge of her nose.
Tasha fell silent, I peered at her and saw that she was lost in thought, making me nudge her gently. She blinked and apologized for zooming out.
"What's wrong?"
"No-thing." She lied.
"You know you can tell me anything right?" I kissed the mark on her neck. "You know I love you right?" I whispered In her ears.
"Fine, I'll talk." She sighed.
"Good girl." My hands went to her side and I tickled her.
Tasha roared in laughter, after she had relaxed I placed her on the table so I could see her.
"I don't know the sentence to give to Vanessa." She said sadly and I nodded.
I understood her point, if she gives Vanessa a cruel sentence people will say she is wicked and if she gives her a lighter sentence they will say she is weak.
"Just follow your heart, you are the Luna for a reason, don't dwell on what the aftermath will be." I told her.
"It's… not about that." She tucked her hair Into the back of her ear.
"It's about what?" I was curious to know what was eating her up.
She played with her fingers, something she does when she is scared of what might response would be. Knowing that she was hesitating I spoke no further, I wasn't going to pressure her Into talking.
But I sincerely hope that we will never keep secrets from each other again.
"Connor pleaded with me not to ask for Vanessa to be killed." She finally opened up.
I kept my emotions in check, I wasn't happy with Connor's behaviour. He had no right whatsoever to meet with Tasha and ask for that, which only proves that both of them were really in love.
"You don't have to listen to him Tasha." I told her calmly.
"It's not only about that." She shook her head.
"She is your first love and I don't want to hurt your feelings, I'm sure you still care for her in a way."
"Hey." I stood up from my chair and held Tasha's hand.
"Vanessa is my past, you are my future, my everything. My past will remain in the past. I don't see her that way anymore and besides I would have her head chopped off but I wanted you to punish her yourself."
"Thank you." She hugged me and I patted her hair in a gentle manner.
She wanted assurance and I had given her that, the assurance that I have her back.
"I have made up my mind, I'm punishing her this morning." She said amidst the hug.
I pulled away from the hug and offered to walk with her to the dungeon. Lest Vanessa contaminates her mind with her filthy talk.
**
"If you have come to mock me then get on with it Luna." Vanessa said sarcastically.
Tasha made eye contact with me before stepping forward, I ordered the guard to open the lock so she could enter, she went in and I followed from behind.
"You are wrong Vanessa, I have come to do no such thing." Tasha replied, matching Vanessa's tone.
"I have come to make my judgement as your Luna." Tasha spoke authoritatively, her voice booming with confidence.
"Because of your actions Vanessa, a royal member the Delta of this pack is in coma because of you, and your Luna was kidnapped as a result." Tasha turned to look at me and I nodded for her to go on.
My eyes were on Vanessa watching her movement in case she tried anything stupid.
"Vanessa you have proved one thing to everyone and that is you never cared about this pack not its well-being and seeing that you weren't remorseful about your actions proves me right….."
"This is my sentence, you Vanessa will be branded as a traitor and banished from this pack never are you going to step foot on this pack not you nor your generation!"
