Chapter 78: Awakening
Chapter 78: Awakening
Waking up, I saw I was wrapped in dark fur that provided me warmth, sheltering me from the outside cold and storm that was raging.
I looked over at Marcus, sleeping peacefully, when lightning shone outside, spreading the light inside this little cave we were in.
“Come to me…”
I heard a gentle female voice as she was calling for me, but as I looked around, all I could see is my friends and Marcus peacefully sleeping and no traces of the woman.
I blinked, looking towards the entrance of the cave, when a tiny light shone, calling for me to walk outside into the storm.
For some unknown reason, I wasn’t feeling afraid.
Standing up slowly, I moved carefully around Marcus afraid that I might wake him up. Soon as I was out of his hold, I walked slowly towards the entrance and searched for the tiny light I saw a moment ago.
The thunder sounded nearby, but it didn’t stop me as I took a step outside the cave and could feel the rain pouring over me, drenching me fully, as I turned my face up towards the sky.
For some reason, the feeling was calming but then I saw the tiny light appear before me, calling my name, and leading me further ahead. I noticed it is actually a wisp as panicked noticing it moved away, I yelled after it, as I started to run to try and catch it, “Wait!”
The mountain was slippery as it made it hard to walk, even climb when I needed it.
The wisp started to climb upwards again as I looked up, searching for cracks I can hold onto as I started to climb up.
Thunder hit the mountain, almost hitting me, making me lose a hold as my hand slipped out from the tiny crack, leaving me to hang as I kept my hold with only one hand.
"O, dear Goddess," I said into the air, as I looked down and all I could see was pure darkness and raging wind that made trees to swing.
Swallowing, I looked up into the sky and yelled, “I am not giving up! Do you hear me?!”
Feeling determination rising inside me, I tried to pull myself up with the only hand that was still holding to the mountain but I failed.
“I can do this!” I tried to encourage myself as I tried again, placing my other hand over the one that kept its hold, pulling my body upwards, using all of my strength, groaning as a feeling of burning sensation hit my muscles, feeling the energy draining out, but I wasn’t giving up.
This is not how my ending will be. I thought to myself.
Gathering every ounce of strength left inside of me, I finally managed to pull myself up and reach feeling around the mountain with my free hand, searching for a stable crack I can grab onto and continue on climbing up.
As I found a stable crack to hold onto, I continued on with my climbing, seeing the faint light glowing from further far up ahead from me.
Slowly, despite the harsh wind that was blowing all around me and the slippery steps I took due to the rain that was mercilessly falling down, despite all the bad weather conditions, I didn’t give up and continued climbing up, not stopping for a moment, not even to take a breath or dared to look down, having my sight set to reach my goal and get to the top where the faint light kept calling my name.
Finally, taking one more step, I reached the edge, pulling myself over the edge, not stopping until I felt the hard ground of the rock underneath me.
Laying down, breathing hard and fast, I noticed that the weather was calm up here, and it wasn’t raining nor was dark.
Slowly raising up to my shaking feet, I looked around and saw the same wisp flying towards a bright light that shone so beautiful, making me feel mesmerized just watching at it.
A female figure suddenly appeared from the bright, warm light, smiling as she said something to the-wisp that flew away after as the woman turned and looked at me.
“My dear Olivia, I waited so long for us to finally meet.” Her voice, so gentle and soft, took my breath away as I just stood for a moment, silently in confusion just watching at her beautiful features.
“W-who are you?” I stammered as I asked the first thing that came to my mind.
She smiled as she took a step closer, not stopping until she was standing right in front of me.
“I am the one that everyone calls Moon Goddess, but call me by my given name, Jessabelle.” She said to me, smiling warmly at me.
I was speechless, just nodded my head as my eyes were wide, unable to blink as I kept looking at her.
"Why are we here?" I asked her, as I looked around for a moment before looking back towards her.
“Because it is time.” She said softly, looking at me.
“Time for what?” I asked her as confusion was written all over my face as I looked at her, waiting to hear what she was about to say.
"You found out about your destiny, but there is more to it my dear. You see, I have chosen you and Marcus as the ones to fulfill the prophecy to reclaim the rights for mates, my creations, to be freely together as they should be." She said.
“But the Elders…” I started but she cut me off.
"The Elders had no right to choose and deny my given gifts to all my children. I was silently watching, waiting for them to come to their senses and take down that silly Law, but seeing as time passed by, that it wasn't happening, I couldn't sit and watch my children suffer badly as they did for so many years, so my dear Olivia that is why Marcus and you, my special creations, came to put the Law down and everyone who tries to push it onto others." She said.
"But how can we? We are no match for Elders and their warriors." I asked her.
"You both my dear child are special. By accepting each other as you finally did, you awoke the strength and powers that I have given to you, but they could only be awoken if you fully accepted each other and since now you have, Marcus power is growing, and I am sure you have noticed a few changes in him already.” Smiling she said.
That reminded me of when I noticed his wolf was different. I looked into her eyes, "I have, his wolf seems stronger and bigger, and he has something like a little mark on his ear that I didn't notice there before."
"That is the mark of a true leader. His powers are growing fast and soon enough he will claim what is destined for him, and you, my dear child…" her hand raised to caress my cheek, as she placed her palm over it and a white, warm light started to shine and warm my cheek, spreading the warmth slowly through it and into my whole body.
I closed my eyes, feeling my Siren awoken inside of me, as I could see her starting to shine at the same time as my body started to glow.
I opened my eyes, looking at the Goddess, her hand retracted as she silently looked at me.
“What happened?” I asked, looking down at my hands, seeing the glow slowly disappearing until it was fully gone.
“Your gift is now fully awoken.” She said to me.
“My gift?” I asked her confused.
“Yes my dear child, you have a gift to show the truth. You will be able by your touch to connect the one to me, as they will hear my words and see me, to make them realize the wrong they are doing and what my will and wish is.” She said.
“You mean my gift is that you can speak through me with others?” I asked feeling stunned.
“Yes, exactly. No one will disobey when they hear my voice and see me appear in front of them and the gift grants you to directly at any time reach out towards me.” She said.
I was stunned to hear her words making her smile at me.
“You and I from now on are more connected than ever." She said.
“You will reach out and call in for your gift when you will need it, and I will hear you. When you find my White warriors Olivia, make sure they go with you to seek the Elders and when you get to the Elders I will be there with you as together we will approach them and open their eyes.” She said, walking slowly back into the light.
“But what if they don’t believe?” I asked after her as she started to disappear but her voice came towards me,
"You will know when the time comes."
My eyes snapped open as I looked around just to find myself still in the cave I was, engulfed in the warmth that Marcus provided, curled around me.
I looked around and saw everyone was still asleep except for Logan who was now on guard as his head turned to look over at me, silently questioning me with his eyes if I was ok.
I nodded my head at him, giving him a small smile as I snuggled back into Marcus, hearing his content exhale as slowly I fell back to sleep.
