Amanda stormed into Aunt Matilda's room with a frown. She couldn't sleep last night and as soon as it was dawn, she strode into the room. Aunt Matilda was already up and a maid was making her hair. She turned slowly around to face Amanda.
"Good morning Aunt Matilda," Amanda said.
"Good morning my dear. Although your face doesn't look like someone that had a good night's rest," she commented
"That's because I didn't," Amanda replied
Aunt Matilda held up her hands and gestured for the maid to leave the room.
"Why? What is the problem?" she asked.
Amanda waited for the maid to exit the room before slumping on the couch.
"It's Adrian," Amanda began.
"What about him?" she queried
"The plan didn't work," Amanda spoke.
"What happened?" she frowned.
"His interest seemed to have been piqued by a lady," Amanda stated.
Aunt Matilda frowned.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"When I went to his room to do as you told me, she came out of the bathroom," Amanda recalled
Matilda laughed.
"It must have been his new fling. You know my nephew. He gets women on the bed all the time," she explained.
"A new fling? On his bed?" Amanda doubted.
"What do you mean on his bed? She was in the King's chambers?"
"Yes,"
"And you saw her?" Matilda asked, inching towards Amanda
"Well, not her face because the room was dark, but I heard her voice,"
"That won't do,"
"Her voice sounded familiar though,"
"What if she's someone you know?" Matilda reasoned
"I doubt that," Amanda disagreed.
"I don't think he is into anything serious with her," she stated.
"Let's hope so. I wouldn't want to have things the hard way," Amanda sighed.
"You just have to look for ways to get close to him. We need an heir. He doesn't seem bothered at all. He isn't getting any younger, you know," Matilda groaned in desperation.
Amanda smiled within herself as she stared at Matilda. It was just a matter of time before her plan was activated.
"Would you like to go shopping with me? I could use a company," Matilda requested.
"That'll be nice," she whispered loud enough for Matilda to hear
"Dress up then,"
Amanda nodded and made for the door.

Mila's POV
I couldn't describe how I'm feeling right now. I was feeling happy and giddy. I don't know if Adrian could stay without his women and all that. But he had promised me not to do it again, and I hope he meant it. Because I am not certain I would forgive him if I saw that sort of abomination happen in front of me.
I know I was acting a little too much because we aren't a couple or something yet, but he just asked me out on a date now. I would count that as something. That should show I wasn't like his other women. I heard from the maid gossip that he didn't let those women come to his room or sleep in the palace. But here I was, sharing the same room with him, even though it was because of my transformation. I would make good use of this opportunity while I have the chance.
I smiled to myself as I looked in the mirror to see my blushing face staring shamelessly back at me. Well, at least Adrian had gone out earlier to continue his Alpha duties, if not, I wouldn't even dare make him see I was happy or blushing. He didn't deserve to see me blush yet. He was still working on making me forgive him, and I was going to play along. I am going to make him try so hard so I can see how far he was willing to go to earn my forgiveness. I wouldn't overdo it though, because he was sort of stubborn. He might give up.
I straightened my hair and made sure it was extra curly. I was feeling happy and I needed to radiate beauty. I am not making up for him, I o my want to look my best.
I stroked into the garden with a bright smile as I sat on the bench. The garden had a fresh air that I carved for. As the breeze rushed past my skin, I felt alive for the first time since my pack threw me out. This was the first time I was feeling so happy since the death of my father. I had always sulked and never wanted to live life. Although many things kept happening to me that I didn't ask for. Like my transformation and finding out, I was a chosen one. Everything seemed to be happening fast and I didn't have enough time to make myself happy. But now, everything was going to change. I would love my best life while trying to find out the murderer of that maiden. I would make sure no one makes fun of or ridicules me anymore. I was going to be a respectable werewolf in this pack. That's why I should probably stick with Adrian. He is the only one who can make sure I have the respect I deserve.
Just as I was relieving my food moments, I heard someone laugh loudly. I turned my head toward the direction and frowned. Why does she have to always show up and ruin my day?
"Well, well, well. Look who's glowing today," she said, sarcasm oozing from her voice.
I decided to ignore her and continue enjoying my day. But I think she didn't get hints and walked up to me, sitting beside me.
"Ignoring me isn't a good choice, Mila," she warned
I bit my lips in anger. What did she want? She should just let me be for once in her damn life.
"What do you want?" I asked, still not facing her.
"Let's enjoy the scenery," she whispered
Boy, do I hate her?
After a few moments of silence, she stood up and snickered
"I would w
atch my back from now on if I were you," she spoke.
