Chapter 88: I Hate Snow
Just as Reign promised, breakfast was set up and ready for Shadow Mountain in their pack house dining room. Kyde and Dakota didn’t even realize that the omegas had set up already. Kyde and Dakota walked into the kitchen to the wonderful smell of coffee, tea, eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, etc.
“Wow! I wasn’t expecting this.” Kyde grabbed a cup of tea and looked out the window. “What the hell?”
“Uh-oh, I guess she saw the snow, huh?” Kruz snickered.
“It SNOWS here?!” She yelped.
“It seems that it does.” Hunter walked in with Kolby.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Kolby asked.
“Sure, until it melts and then it’s nothing but slush and mud, then soaks your socks. Maybe we should’ve stayed back at home.” Kyde groaned but not really meaning what she said. “I HATE snow. I don’t mind the cold, but I can’t stand the snow.”
Dakota snickered and hugged his mate leaving a kiss on her temple. “C’mon let’s get some breakfast and then meet with Storm before Court and make sure she doesn’t need anything from us.”
“Okay, but I hate walking in the snow.” She complained.
Dakota chuckled again. “I would NEVER think to allow you to walk in the snow. I’ve made all the arrangements, so you don’t hafta walk in the snow.” He assured her.
She sighed and joined everyone for breakfast. “We have a long and busy day so make sure you eat plenty.” Dakota told everyone. “Gotta make sure you keep your energy up.”
As they finished eating, Jyden walked into the dining room. “Good morning.” He chirped clapping his hands together.
“What’s so good about it?” Kyde grumbled.
Jyden chuckled; he already knew about Kydence’s displeasure with snow. “Awe, I’m sorry, did you have a bad night? Is there anything we can do to make it better?” He snickered.
“Yeah, build a nice big, long awning to cover my pack land to protect from the snow.” She answered with a little sass behind it.
Her brothers were laughing, and Kolby just shook her head, “I know Diamond loves the snow. She’s already making plans with Gracie to have a snow race.” Kolby smiled.
“She can do what she wants as long as I’m not the one mucking around in it.” Kyde said.
Her siblings looked back n forth with one another, “you do remember that you and Di are one and the same.” Kolby snorted.
Kydence rolled her eyes at her siblings, “yes Miss Smarty-pants, I do realize that. As long as I don’t feel it and I, as in my human body is not the one mucking around, then she can do what she wants.” Kyde shrugged.
“Why do you hate snow so much?” Jyden asked sipping on some coffee.
“Like I said, when it melts it turns into a muddy slush and gets in your shoes and gets your socks wet.” She shuddered.
“Well, we don’t get very many snowstorms but when we do, it’s definitely a lot of snow.” Jyden said.
“How long does it last?” Kasper asked.
“It depends, the snow fall can last several days but the melting of it, well...” he trailed off.
“Aaarrggg...” Kyde sighed.
Dakota pulled his mate onto his lap and nuzzled her hair. “Not to worry, my sweet Bunnylove, I will protect you from that nasty ole snow.”
She rolled her eyes, “you’re such asses!” She grumbled as her family laughed. “All of you just wait til we start training” She warned each one.
“Promises, promises.” Kruz chuckled.
“You better not HANG around after breakfast.” Hunter chuckled, making Kruz’s eyes widen.
“Not funny bro!” Kruz said shifting in his seat.
Kyde laughed, “Well, I guess we should get going, don’t wanta keep the King and Queen waiting.”
“I have a few golf carts outside for us to use.” Jyden stated. “You’ll be able to keep them for your use when the weather is like this. We have these carts special made for our needs. He explained. “If you find that you need something different, then let me know and I’ll get you in touch with the guy who makes them for us.”
They finished up, put their coats on, Sadie had all their coats and snowshoes out for them all. “Thank you, Sadie.” Said Kyde. “I didn’t know we even had those.”
“Oh, my dear, you didn’t, so I had them brought over, when I realized that none of you had the proper winter wear.” Sadie explained to them.
“Sadie you are totally amazing.” Kolby smiled wrapped up in her new coat. “I love it. It was a light blue button up with the inside lined with soft fur. All the female’s coats were the same but different styles and colors. The male’s coats were flannel style.
“No need for thanks Gamma.” Sadie smiled.
“When we move, can I take Sadie with me?” Kyde asked. “She takes such good care of me...us.” She asked giving her biggest puppy dog eyes.
“That’s gonna be up to Sadie.” Jyden motioned to the omega.
Kydence looked at Sadie with a bright smile, making her chuckle, “It would be my pleasure.” Sadie stated.
“There ya go, I’ll let Reign know that Sadie has agreed to move with you to your new pack house.” Jyden told them.
“I would like to have my own omega staff with me. I have been working with them since I started here many years ago.” She requested.
“Perfect! I have no problem with that, anyone who works with you is more than welcome to with you.” Kyde cheered and hug Sadie.
“We better get goin’ before Reign sends out a search party.” Jyden laughed. They all chuckled. “No, trust me, she will send out a search party if we don’t get there soon.” He laughed.
