Chapter 12

Bryn's POV

After a simple amazing night with the guys we eventually fell asleep. Now today was the day I was stressed about; we were all going home. I'm scared to see how much has changed in the years, the new people I would have never met. Even someone as important as Nick's mate, and the boy’s mate's as well.

I'm worried about meeting Nick's mate though, I'm not sure how she'll react to me. I'm OK with the fact that Nick moved on, but will she accept the fact that I'm an important female in his life? I hope I don't have to wrestle a possessive female on a daily basis. I really want to get along with the other special lady in his life, and it would be cool if we were friends.

So once the sun peaked through the curtains, I was awake. I leaped out of bed and went into the bathroom. I had a shower and cleaned my teeth. Washed my face and combed my hair up into a messy ponytail. I sneaked back into the room and all the boys were still asleep, ever since I've been free, I wake up at the crack of dawn so I can see the sun rise and enjoy every second of the sun’s rays. So, I guess the boys will sleep for a few more hours, so I decided to go get Jennifer up and ready.

When I entered her room, she was already up and awake, just like I was, always an early riser. "Morning sweetie" I say walking over to where she sat on the edge of her bed, she smiled at me sweetly. "Morning mummy" She says crawling onto my lap where she snuggled into my chest. I cradled her to me and kissed her head. "We're going home today sweetie, to where mummy used to live" I told her and she giggled.

"Is there lots of flowers mummy?" She whispered and I giggled running my fingers through her hair. "I will personally plant a huge flower plot with any flowers you want" I told her and she smiled, "I like that" She whispered and I smiled picking her up and placing her on my hip.

"Want to go outside?" I ask her and she nodded her head, I place her back on the ground and admired the cute little yellow and purple flowered sundress she obviously picked out for herself to wear today. She cleverly matched them with black woollen tights that stood out against her pale skin. She really need to get some more sun, to darker her skin up a bit. I think that a few darker shades would suit her freckles nicely and compliment her father's eyes.

We silently walked down the hall, making sure not to wake anyone up on the wall. We walked out into the back yard and I allowed her to run off into the flower garden. I knew the boys packed up everything yesterday ready for today's journey so once everyone's up we would be gone.

As Jennifer was skipping through the gardens, I couldn't help but stare at the forest. It’s like every part of me, every instinct, the way I've been raised wants to be released. To run through the woods on 4 paws as the wind whips through my fur. The leaves crumbling under my paws and the ground quakes from the impact.

Just the feeling of shifting is amazing enough, but I get stuck with 2 legs. Yes, running in human form is fun, but it’s not as satisfying and a lot more tiring. "Bryn!" Jake's voice called out and I spun around to see him standing outside the front door signalling for us to come inside. I nodded heading to find Jennifer.

"Come on sweetie we have to go now! “I say when I find her sitting in a flower garden pouting. "But mummy we just got here!" She whined and I chuckled walking over and scooping her up out of the garden. She was still pouting but she was smiling secretly, she could never stay mad with me for very long. She's a mummy's girl, she loves her dad of course but she’s closer with me.

I carry her inside where everyone was in the kitchen eating breakfast. "Morning Bryn" Charlie says passing me a plate of pancakes and I kiss his cheek taking Jennifer and I other to the dining room table. I sit us down at the table and I cut up mouth sized pieces of food for Jennifer and feed her my pancakes.

Once breakfast was eaten and we washed our dishes, we said goodbye and after I promised to call April we got into the car. Since there was so many of us, we had to take two cars, Jennifer and I went in the same car as Jake. It was a little awkward but I discovered that completely ignoring him helped the situation.

I sat in the back with Jennifer, and I taught her how to play I spy. Jake looked like he wanted to start up a conversation but I never gave him an opportunity to. I was scared that once we start talking, all my past feelings for him will come rushing back into place.

I believe now that my past relationship with Nick, helped hide away the feelings I had from him. Even when I wanted to hate him with all my soul, I still liked him. Now that Nick is taken and we're both single, the old flame may ignite. Of course, it's different now that I have Jennifer, but it's not like I'm involved with Mason. We're just close friends, and that leaves me alone with Mr Alpha Mate of mine.

Jake's POV

In the morning I woke up to make an important phone call. I called up my pack manager, the man who organizes most attacks and events etc.

"Hello Alpha, how may I help you?" He asks and I frown not exactly feeling in the mood to smile. "I need you to send a team of soldiers to the location I'll forward to you in a few minutes. The mission is to capture every rogue on sight and track down the scents of any rogues that were recently there" I order and I hear him hmm in agreement. "May I ask why?" He asks and I can feel my wolf growl loudly.

"They took my mate and now they're going to pay" I say hanging up and slamming my phone down on the table smashing into thousands of people. Crap I'm going to need a new phone...
