Chapter 11
Nick's POV
While Bryn was in the shower, I was trying my best to get out of shock mode. Bryn has changed so much since we last saw her, she was this natural glow to her, despite not having a shower for 10 years. Maybe it's because she's a mother, and that's another fact I can't understand. How does she have a kid, she was kidnapped for years when was she allowed to socialize with other people. How can she have a relationship with another man knowing she was two men that love her to bits. Even if I've found my mate, she wouldn't know that so how could she possibly cheat on me. Has she suddenly become a slut since she's been away, who knows how many countless guys she could have been with?
I know for a fact that I shouldn't be thinking these horrible things, but I'm sure it's not true. Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions. I'm sure she had her reasons and I honestly shouldn't judge her. Jennifer just makes me curious, obviously her father is someone we've never met. You can tell by her features, like how her face is perfectly clear apart from a few freckles under the eyes and on the tip of the nose. One thing's for sure this girl is utterly adorable. She's 3 years old and could most likely get along well with my little girl.
I loved the warm fuzzy feeling I got when she asked if we could sleep over like we used to as teens. Sometimes it scares me how Bryn's no longer the 18 year old I once knew, she's 28 now and an adult and mother. I guess I'll be in for a lot more surprises in the future.
All good I hope, I don't think anyone can handle any more bad news. Us boys were in the room setting up for tonight. Placing mattresses on the ground and bringing sheets and blankets into the room.
The bedroom door opened and Bryn's little head popped into the room with a smile. Her hair was wet and straight and dripping on her pyjamas’. It didn't affect her at all, she seemed to be over the moon. She looked so at peace, she ran into the room and pounced on the bed. She sighed in content and snuggled into the bed. "I bags the bed!" She shouts out and everyone moans out in disagreement.
"Not far why do you get the bed?" Chase whines and Bryn sits up on the bed and stares at Chase dead in the eyes. "I have a back problem" She says laying down and Chase chuckles. "Since when do you have a back problem Bryn?" He asks accusing her of lying and I honestly found it funny. "Sleeping on flat concrete for 10 years bruises your spinal cord!" She snapped and Chase's grin dropped and he frowned.
"Sorry Bryn you can have the bed" He says and she grins lying down, "Hell yeah I will" She said with a smirk and I chuckled. "Guys can we watch a movie?" Lucas asks holding up a CD case and I nodded, not minding watching a good movie. "Can we watch a comedy?" Bryn asks and we all nod and cheer in approval. Lucas finds the appropriate movie and puts it into the room's small TV.
We all leap onto the bed and sit in a big bunch as 21 jump street comes onto the TV and I smile. I haven’t watched this one in years, it's an oldie but a goodie. I think this movie was a good pick as Bryn seemed to be enjoying it and that was all that mattered to me at the moment. No one deserves to go through what she's been through, but she still manages to remain the amazing person she was and is.
Jake's POV
I was hurt the second she suggested a sleepover night without me, I know it’s their thing but I'm her mate and I've missed her. I understand I hurt her, but that was 10 years ago and I was tricked. I've apologized but she's still mad at me and I worried she'll never forgive me.
Not only does her unforgiving nature bother me, but the child. Jennifer seems like a sweetheart, a little angel. But she's not my child and she refuses to tell us who the father is. I'd rather the father be Nick, because then I'd know who to strangle, but right now I have no idea who it could be.
What worries me is why can't she tell me who the father is, I won't be mad at her or anything. I'm just extremely curious who she choose to have a relationship with and where is the bastard? He gets in a relationship with Bryn, then leaves her to fend for herself and their child? I don't care who this dude is, what he did was plain wrong.
Of course, I can't judge without knowing all the facts, it could have been a one night stand and he never knew the child existed. Maybe they broke up and she got custody over the girl. Whatever the situation I want to know the details. I have a right to know as her mate, I'm not mad like I said earlier. I just want to understand what happened, maybe even met the guy?
We won't be best friends but maybe if Bryn and I got together, he could watch over his daughter? I know I'm thinking way too far ahead, I'm just really confused about what's going on. Bryn's all secretive and her daughter's too young to understand the questions I'm wanting the answers for. But most of all right now, I wish I were in the other room with the others.
Enjoying plan simple bonding time with my mate and my pack members. One thing's for sure when I do meet this dude, it will be a very interesting day indeed...
