Chapter 10

Bryn's POV

I felt like a deer stuck in the head lights, I was shocked and utterly speechless. It was so odd seeing them after so many years, it was like reading a book that you've read before. It's familiar but always seems to surprise you.

The boys looked so much more mature, and handsome. Chase's hair had gone darker over the years, but I couldn't tell if he dyed it or not. They all had gotten noticeably taller but Charlie sprouted over everyone else. Lucas was growing a small beard which made me look a lot more serious and all their scents had changed slightly.

All the boys apart from Jake barred a mating mark on their necks, and what hurt the most was that Nick had a wedding ring as well on his finger. I looked away from the wedding ring and glanced up into his eyes and I could see the guilt clearly tinted in them. I was so mad I could practically feel myself shaking, I dropped Jennifer to the ground and walked right up to Nick.

I stared into his nervous eyes, and I growled. "How could you?!" I snarled and he gulped, "Bryn I can explain..." He said but I cut him off. "No excuses, how dare you get married without me!" I snarled hitting him in the arm. "I wanted to be the best man you jerk" I said with a smile and his eyes widened in shock. "Wait so you're not angry with me?" He asks and I frown, "No but I'm still mad" I said with a frown but he smiled "Thank god I thought you'd hate me" He said with a relieved sigh and I shook my head. "She's your second chance mate, isn't she?" I asked and he nodded. "Then of course I couldn't be mad, you found the girl that will make you happy for the rest of your life" I said and he smiled pulling me into a hug, "Thank you" He whispered kissing the top of my head.

When he released me, it wasn't long before all the boys pulled me into a group hug, "I missed you" Chase said kissing the top of my head and I smiled. "I missed you guys too" I said cursing myself as I felt a tear drop roll down my cheek. Everyone gave me huge hugs and kissed either my head or my cheek, but Jake hadn't moved from his spot. When I looked over at him, he slowly walked towards me. He cupped my cheek with his hand and kissed my forehead, "I missed you" He whispered truthfully and I believed him, you could tell he was telling the truth by the expression on his face.

"I might have missed you" I said with a teasing smile and the boys chuckled, Jake frowned. "Well that was mean" He said with a smile stepping back giving me my personal space. "Well I'm sorry that you thought that 10 years away would make me forgive you" I said and he nodded his head in understanding.

"Mummy who are they?" Jennifer's voice broke through the silence and I smiled turning around to see her walking up to me. "These are some of mummy's friends" I say and she nods her head. She walks around me and walks right up to Chase. "What's your name?" She asks curiously tilting her head all the way up to make eye contact. Chase smiled down politely at her, "My name's chase what's yours?" He asked crouching down so he was more her level. She smiled brightly at him, "I'm Jennifer" She said and he smiled ruffling up her hair.

"How old is she?" Jake asks from behind me as I watch Jennifer introduce herself to everyone. "She's 3" I say and I hear him hmm in response, "Who's the father?" He asks and everyone stares at me, obviously eager to know the answer. "None of your business" I say formally as if I was talking to my school principle.

"Where is daddy, mummy I miss him" Jennifer says with a small pout on her face and I smile sadly. I walked over and picked her up so she was my height. "Not sure honey, but next time I find him I'll drag his butt over her to see us aye?" I said with a grin and she chuckles playfully. "Good plan" She says and I chuckle placing her back down on the ground. I turned to the boys with a smile, "Don't know about you guys but I'd love to go home tomorrow, I been dreaming about seeing my bed again for a long time" I say dreamily closing my eyes and taking a deep calm breath.

"What's a bed?" Jennifer asks tugging on my pants and I glanced down at her with a frown on my face. I crouched down and kissed her cheek, "Don't worry sweetie, I'll show you everything you've never seen before" I whispered tucking her hair behind her eye and she smiled. "OK mummy" She whispered and I picked her up cuddling her into my neck. "April!?" I called out and soon the enthusiastic Luna came bouncing down the hall. "Hey Bryn, what up?" She asks and I chuckle, "Would it be OK if we stayed the night, I'm exhausted" I say and she smiled nodding, "Of course, what kind of person would I be if I didn't give the girl that saved my life somewhere to sleep" She said and I smiled. "Thanks April" I say and she nods walking off most likely to inform her mate of the new plans.

Once she was gone the room fell into a comfortable silence, and I took the time memorize the boy’s new looks. April comes trotting back into the room with a smile on her face, "My mate's all for it, so I'm guessing we need 6 rooms correct?" She asks and I shake my head and the boys look at me confused. "We only need 3, one for Jennifer, one for Jake and one for me and the boys to sleepover like old times" I said and they all smile remembering the memories from when we stayed in the pack house.

"Sounds great girl" Lucas says throwing his arm around my shoulder and ruffling my hair up, I squealed in amusement shoving his hand away from my hair. "Don't touch my hair, it's messy already" I said and realization covered over my face and I slapped my hand over my mouth. "Oh shit!" I cursed and Charlie raised his eyebrow. "What's wrong?" He asks and I frown, "I really need a shower" I said and the boys chuckled. "Let me guess 'Oh my gosh I haven’t washed my hair in a week!'" Nick squealed imitating the voice of a girl to prove his point. I chuckled, "So chose Nick but your wrong, I haven’t had a shower in ten years" I said with a smile and they all grimaced. "Really?" April says with her nose all scrunched up. "Yes, now please direct me in the direction of the nearest bathroom. I have some much needed things to attend to" I say picking up Jennifer and following behind April to the miracle that people call the bathroom!...
