When Enzo told me about his plan, I was ecstatic, yes, I didn’t want to travel again because I was tired but laying around the pool drinking cocktails and doing absolutely nothing felt like the best plan yet. I went upstairs to get in a shower to wash off the heat of Florida, and Enzo went to call John and Frank to come over for dinner. I decided I’m going to do my ritual wash my face do a mask on my hair the whole box and dice I mean if we are going to live together, they will see me like this every second week. I always promised myself if I can afford it, I will look after my skin and now that I can, that is exactly what I’m going to do. I showered then I washed my face and put a mask on, I did the same with my hair, after I washed it, I put a masked on and wrapped my hair in a towel. I put some sweatpants and a hoodie on, now I was ready to face them. The question was, where they ready to see me like this? Enzo saw me like this before but not the others.
I walked down the stairs and could hear them talking in the kitchen, that was really their favorite place to meet, the kitchen or his office. When I walked in both John and Frank got up and gave me an awkward kiss with the mask I had on. “Sorry my skin needed this badly after the Florida heat.” “No worries you as beautiful as always.” John said. I just winked at him. “So how was your trip?” Frank asked. “It was nice very nice actually. When Nico dropped his guard, it was easy to fall for him.” “What are you saying, you are in love with him?” John asked. “No John I’m saying I love him the same way I love you guys.” Frank and John looked to Enzo for an answer or something. “Don’t look at me ask her your questions?” “But you saw them together.” “Well, if we are going off what I saw then yes I would say they are very much in love, I’m just not sure if it’s an act from Cat’s side, but Nico is totally head over heels.” “I’m not acting Enzo how can you say that? Could I ever lie to any of you?” John was first to say “No you can’t lie you can see it on your face.” “Well then look at me now while I’m telling you I’m in love with Nico. We’ve worked everything out and we are both in love with each other and we love each other because you guys do know there is a difference, right?” “Yes, Cat, we also love you and are in love with you.” Frank said sarcastically. “I thought you guys would be more excited that it went well.” I said a bit taken a back.
“No no don’t get me wrong I’m very happy, I couldn’t see how we are going to cut Nico out of certain parts of our lives but I want you to be sure about it.” Frank said. “I promise you guys, I’m sure. I wouldn’t sit here and tell you we are in love if we weren’t, I know this is a life time deal and believe me I wouldn’t want to be miserable for the rest of my life.” “Well then we are happy.” John said. “Is that it?” I was shocked I thought they would have more questions, be more skeptical, or something. “Yes, love that is it, I can see on your face you had a great time. I can see on your face you are glowing and it’s not just because of that mask, even your eyes are alive, I told you you won’t be able to lie to us because your whole body speaks to us.” John said. “And you Frank?” “Babe, I feel exactly like John does, we can see it in your face, even in your step when you walked in. I wouldn’t have given you a hard time when it is written all over you.” “Well thanks, I guess. I thought it’s going to be 20 questions that’s why I send Nico home.” “No, it’s good he isn’t here, to see you without him and you are glowing makes it much easier to believe.” Frank said. “And you Enzo?” “I saw the two of you together angel I knew when you walked out of the car you where in love with him. I was just pulling your leg before.” “Oh, so sending him away wasn’t necessary?” I asked them again. “Oh no it was, this way you can be more honest.” “But what I said now I would have said in front of him to.” “I get it but it would have felt like you were saying it because he was here.” Frank explained. “Well okay then I’m happy I’ve got all your approval then.”
Aria put the food on the table and we all dished up before John asked. “Any incidents with your wound?” Oh, fuck they just told me I couldn’t lie and now I have to lie. I was looking down trying to take my first bite when I said “No nothing” It got quiet around the table like in dead quiet I could hear my fork on my plate. “Cat look at me.” John said. I put my fork down and looked at him. “And their gentleman we have our first lie for the evening.” John said. “Oh fuck” I said softly. “What happened?” Enzo said lifting my hoodie to look at my wound at the table. “Enzo please I’m not a child.” “Then why lie to us?” Frank asked. “Because I didn’t want this reaction.” “Then tell us what happened.” John said. “Nothing really, the first day we were just very busy and that night I had a fever and my wound was hot.” “Fuck Cat you should have come back, why didn’t Nico bring you back?” John asked. “Because I told him not to because I was fine the rest of the trip.” “Why end a trip before it even got started?” “Because you could have fucken died!” John screamed at me.
