Chapter 70 THE NIGHT I BURNED FOR CALVIN
~ Elara ~
It's quiet for a moment, and I was sure he'd say no.
Why would he want me near him anyway?
" Get in." He says, causing my head to pop up surprised.
Calvin was already in the drivers side with the car on. I finally move from my spot, walking towards the passenger side. I try my best to ignore his eyes on me while I walked around the car.
He's silent during the drive as we pass through the city which was even prettier at night, lights lining every street.
I look towards Calvin who had one hand on the steering wheel, an empty look in his eyes as he drove down the busy roads.
He didn't speed once.
My head turns back towards the window, holding down the button as I let the cool air enter the car and hit my skin.
My head spins with thoughts, wondering who that woman was, what she'd done to Calvin to get him so mad.
I unconsciously let my hand rest outside of the window, liking the feeling of the wind moving past my hand.
I still had his present in my pocket.
My body shifts in my seat when I feel his eyes on me all of a sudden. I sit back in my seat, closing the window when the wind starts to make me feel too cold.
The city lights were slowly fading away now as Calvin continued to drive down the road. I look out of the window, confused as he drove towards the middle of nowhere.
" Where are we going?" I ask, breaking the silence as I turn back towards him. He wouldn't murder me would he?
Calvin doesn't answer my question. I take my time to look at him closer this time, watching as his grey eyes shone through the moonlight, how his dark hair messily covered his head, and his jaw tense.
His eyes turn towards me as I'm staring at him and I quickly look away, feeling my face flush red as I look back towards the window.
All I could see were large fields, trees, and deer watching signs. I furrow my eyebrows together when Calvin pulls over to the side of the road, next to a large corn field.
" You know this is usually where people get murdered in horror movies." I choke out as I look out at the dark field through the glass window.
" Why did you follow me out." Calvin asks, his eyes on me. The car was off now, and all you could hear was the sound of the crickets chirping outside.
I sigh, looking out in front of me.
" That woman, it looked like she hurt you more then you hurt her. I couldn't just leave you alone." I mutter, his cold eyes now softened as he watches me carefully.
" What makes you think that?" He questions. He looked confused, like no one’s ever noticed before.
" I...I looked at your eyes." I say quietly, thinking I sounded stupid.
It's silent as Calvin searches my face until I clear my throat, adjusting in my seat so I'm not as close to him.
My hand reaches into my pocket as I get the small gift out. I hold it tightly in my hand, hesitating on whether or not I should give it to him.
"I got you a present." I mumble, watching as Calvin’s eyes trail down to my lap where my hand had been holding the gift.
" Did you?" He replies deeply. I nod my head, trying to avoid eye contact with him.
That fails when Calvin moves his head to the side, following my eyes so we're forced to look at each other.
"Are you nervous?" Calvin asks, a small smile on his face. I feel my face burn red as I turn my head towards him.
"No, I'm not." I lie, holding the wool braided bracelet out to Calvin. It was a yellow color, the kind that reminds you of the sun.
Calvin
"S.stop looking at me like that." I mumble under my breath " Like what?" He says deeply. I swallow the lump in my throat before taking the bracelet from his hand and untying it so I can wrap it around his wrist.
"It's a good luck bracelet." I mutter, ignoring what he said as I move closer so I can tie the bracelet around his wrist.
I feel his dark eyes on me the entire time I'm adjusting the bracelet as I try controlling my heart racing.
"There, now you'll have good luck forever."
I smile as I finish tying the string together.
My body tenses when I suddenly feel Calvin’s hand slowly move onto the side of my face, his thumb pushing a piece of my hair away.
I slowly look up through my lashes, feeling like my body had been set on fire as Calvin looked down at me.
My heart races terribly fast when his face comes closer to mine, his nose touching my own as I feel his minty breath only inches from my lips.
" What are you doing to me, Lara." He mumbles under his breath.
The tension could probably be felt from a mile away as his lips hover over my own.
I feel a shiver run through my body when his lips suddenly come onto my own, closing the distance as he kisses me softly.
A swarm of butterflies fill my stomach at the sudden touch, my lips moving on their own as I kiss him back.
It felt like I was high on some drug, except it was just Calvin’s touch.
A sound nearly escape my mouth when Calvin’s hand moves down from the side of my face to wrap around my neck, pulling me in closer.
The kiss gets deeper when I feel his tongue force its way into my mouth, fighting with my own.
My breaths are heavy when he pulls away from my lips, looking up at me with a smirk. I knew I probably looked as red as a tomato by now.
"Y...you-" I gasp when his lips suddenly move onto my neck, trailing down my neck.
A shiver runs downs my body when he tugs my hair back so my neck is more exposed.
I feel his tongue move onto the sensitive spot between my neck and collarbone, a breathy gasp leaving my mouth at the sudden feeling.
"K.keep doing that." I breathe out, looking at Calvin confused when he stops.
"Doing what?" He teases on purpose, looking down at me.
"Touching me." I say shamelessly, watching as his grey eyes darken in the bit of moonlight that lit up the car.
A gasp leaves my mouth when Calvin effortlessly pulls me over to the drivers side so I'm straddling his lap.
His lips are suddenly back on my own, this time even harder. I feel my hands fisting around his dress shirt as I pull myself closer to his body.
" Fuck." He groans when I accidentally push myself against the bulge in his pants.
Oddly, it felt nice.
Calvin seemed to like it too, was I doing the right thing?
He pushes his lips back on my own as I feel his hands trailing down my body. A gasp leaves my mouth when his rough hands are suddenly on my ass, pushing me up against his bulge again.
I wanted him closer
His lips leave trails of hot kisses down my neck as I move my hands into his dark hair, not really knowing what this odd feeling was.
Calvin’s hand trails under my shirt, moving up my bare skin until he stops right under my bra. His lips find my own again as I move my body closer to his own, causing a groan to leave his mouth.
The sound of a phone ringing suddenly reaches my ears. Calvin ignores the call, until the person calls again.
He pulls away from me, an annoyed look on his face as he looks for his phone. I look down at his pants pocket holding the phone and move my hand down to grab it.
I feel Calvin’s dark eyes on me as he watches me take the phone out from his front pocket, his body tense under me. My breath hitches at the large bulge showing through his pants, right next to where i was taking his phone out from.
I feel the embarrassment only now reach my head as my face flushes red. I push the phone into Calvin’s hand, quickly getting off of his lap and back into my seat.
I sit there, frozen in my spot as he answers the call. I was stuck with thoughts of what just happened as I sit there, wondering what has gotten into me.
And for the first time the thought came across my head.
Do I like Calvin?
How could I even speak to him normally again after what happened?
Who do you think she burns for ? Calvin or Wayne ?🤭
