Chapter 91 Extra Chapter 6
Chapter 91 Extra Chapter 6
Duante’ pov
I did everything to keep her safe. I'll do it again. I have pushed her away from me. I hope it will be the last time.
I pinched the bridge of my nose. It's going to be a difficult time for her. I hope she will keep my words in her mind.
"We should tell Tom." Aaron's voice reached my ears.
I shook my head. My wife would do anything to hear the truth from him. Uncle and his son, Andrew would notice it instantly. Andrew might be an eccentric person but he was good at playing mind games. It kept him alive for a long time. He should die in that building.
"I want them to trust that. If he would be smart, he would remember our last conversation." I stared out at the night sky.
I never let my guard down. My brothers know me. My wife has witnessed the happy side of me. I'm possessive and protective.
"You're right, but I hate this." He told me.
"I know." I muttered, it was a hard decision to take but to end this game forever, I had to do this. "He will know when the time will come."
Edd tapped the back of his knuckles against the wooden door and bowed his head. "We're ready to fly, boss." He told Aaron.
Aaron dismissed him with a full nod of his head. "My men will keep you updated." He paused, looking a little hesitant.
"Say it, no hesitation." I looked at him with a tilted head.
"You're not leaving her side. No doubt. Will she meet Devil soon?" He asked, smirking.
"Depends," I said. I wasn't certain to reveal this side of me. I had seen fear in her eyes in the last few months. Hatred too, when I forced her to sign the divorce papers.
"Alright, brother. I'm one call away." He gave me a quick embrace.
"I know." I patted his shoulder strongly. He's part of the family.
With a final full nod at me, he strode out of the door.
This place was enough for twenty people. It could provide everyone with the luxury of the room and every faculty. She's staying two kilometers away from here. They will protect her at every step. Still, I felt a strong need to be around her. It would be easy to reach her if something unpleasant happened. It's a huge relief that she doesn't believe the news and everyone. I'm proud of Tom, he used the time very wisely and helped my wife to be in a secure place.
My phone began to ring. My eyes narrowed. Why was Max calling me? It could be a stupid move. Andrew could kill him.
I swiped on it and lifted it up. "You shouldn't call." I snarled.
"I'm sorry, boss. I can kill him. I don't like his intentions."
He didn't need to mention my wife. I had already heard it when I signed the contract as Devil to uncle. I didn't want to give him an easy death.
"No. Don't let him doubt you. Try to find out where he has captured Sofia." Anger surged through me. My hands balled.
"He's planning to capture Ma'am's family."
"When?" My jaw locked.
"He is sending his men, yesterday."
"Anything else?" I asked, walking over to the door. Their heads turned to me. I motioned them to be inside.
They got on their feet and Quickly, obeyed me.
"No, boss. I'll message you next."
I hummed and disconnected the call. They were already waiting for me to start.
"Did you do what I told you?" I asked, turning to Aakash.
"About what, boss?" He asked, exchanging looks with his brothers.
I glanced at him with a tilted head. "My wife's family?"
"Yes, boss. Mini ma'am is safe with her and ma'am's family. They are safe in Kerala and the place is highly secured. Our guards are there. If it is needed. They would keep them safe at any cost." Aakash said.
It was his suggestion to send them to his village. His uncle was a wrestler, including his cousins. Andrew could never imagine their whereabouts. They would be safe. I didn't want any distractions.
"This is the time when no mistake would be accepted," I told them, darting my eyes at them. No emotion was playing on my face. I didn't open up to anyone. This was the first step toward becoming a successful businessman and the emperor.
"Our men are keeping close eyes on his every move. If you allow, we should allow one of our men to let Max know that he's not alone."
"Do this," I told him.
"Boss, Zhang is here." Drake interrupted.
I glared at him. "I'm sorry, boss. But I am worried about Tom sir and madam."
"You can go on a holiday if you're that worried. I don't want Worry in my life, especially at this phase of the life."
"I'm sorry, boss. That won't happen again. Ben just messaged me. Ma'am…." He tightened his lips shut.
" Send him in." I wouldn't blame them. She is the first woman to step into my home. She is brave and mischievous. They never said a word. She is always important. Because after Thomas she had become something essential to me. I had heard them whispering that she's perfect for me as she kept me distracted from the troubles of my life. It gives meaning to my life when I come back home after a difficult day and beholds her smiling face.
They piled out of the room and Zhang walked into the room. "Boss," He bowed his head.
"My wife?" I asked. Many questions were running through my head.
"She's looking for the footage."
"I'm aware." I had already purchased all the sources where it was possible to get it. No one would go against me. I looked at him. I couldn't ignore the worry in his eyes.
"She's taking care of her health, having her meals and vitamins as the doctor has described. She doesn't believe this but... Can't we tell ma'am now? She's away from home. There's no chance you'll send ma'am there." He cleared his throat, looking uncertain.
I want to smack in their faces for telling me the same thing again and again. That wouldn't wipe worry for my wife. "Keep me updated. Don't let her out of your sight." I told him.
"Yes, boss." He took long strides out of the room.
I let out a long breath. I'm missing her. Nothing seemed more difficult before. I clicked on it, lighting the display. I could see her. She's asleep.
I shut it and turned to the closet. I needed to see her, touch her before my irritation took over me.
I changed into a dark hood, dark jeans, and gloves. I grabbed the keys from the desk and headed out.
Drake looked up at me. "Are you going to see ma'am?" He blurted out and regret washed over his face immediately.
I gave him a look, not approving of his behavior.
"Should we come with you, Boss?" Code asked.
I shook my head and walked over to the door.
"We won't disturb you, boss. As we have nothing to do here. Can we come with you, please? At least one of us."
"We all wanna go, you jerk," Sergio shouted in annoyance.
The corners of my lips curled up. I nodded my head. They got on their feet. I could rely on them. They wouldn't leave me alone to face problems alone.
Drake opened the door. I nodded thanking him as I got behind the wheel. They piled in and shut the door.
"I can't wait to see the baby. I've heard they are this small." Alberto gestured with his hands showing the size of the born baby.
"Ain't it too big to mention a new baby. They are tiny things. Haven't you seen women holding babies in the parks and hospitals?" Blackie snorted.
"I don't know, brother." Alberto shrugged his shoulders, looking confused.
"Will ma'am let us hold her baby?" Code asked.
"I never thought this," Drake muttered.
I ignited the car with a smile. I want to end his game ASAP. I want my wife and baby to live without any fear.
It didn't take us more than five minutes at this time of night. I pulled over the car.
Ben and Victor got on their feet. Their guns were clinching in their hands.
"Oh, didn't you inform them, Drake?" Code asked.
"I thought...." He trailed off, looking at me and then out of the window.
I climbed out. They bowed their heads. "Everything is under control." Ben said.
I nodded and pulled the mask and hood to hide my face. She couldn't see me. Until I found out where he had captured Sofia and her son.
Rocky and Zhang were pacing out of the door.
Rocky's eyes widened at my sight. Ben told me what Tom suggested. I would have appreciated it, but not when it was my wife.
"Bosss... m....." Rocky stuttered.
I grasped his shoulder and glared at him. "Don't cross the line." I glanced at Zhang telling him silently to keep a close eye on him. He nodded his head immediately.
"Y-es, boss." He gulped in dread.
I let go of his shoulder. I strode in and curled my hand on the door knob. I twisted it and cracked it open. My inside relaxed seeing her sleeping. I strode in silently, closing the door behind me. She is a sound sleeper.
I stared at him, halting my feet near the bed. Her stomach was hidden under the duvet. It was cold outside. She likes spring better than any season. Her comfort and security were my priority. My eyes drifted over to her face. Her cheeks were puffier than usual. Zhang wasn't wrong when he said she was taking care of her health. She didn't do this ever.
I pressed my teeth together in anger as I saw tears track over her cheeks. I didn't ask them to stop her when she called him to get the CCTV footage. It would distract her from her thoughts and sorrow.
I sat on the edge and leaned over her. I brushed my lips softly on her cheek. Her lashes were long and her eyes were puffy with crying.
Just a few days. I can't risk Sofia and her son. She has already lost her husband. Losing someone from the family is really painful. My parents' death has made me stone-hearted.
I forced myself to get on my feet and leave the room before she realized my presence in the room. With another long glance at her, I walked over to the door and stepped out. I clicked it lock behind me.
Ben was already waiting for me, gripping a file. "Boss," He murmured, extending his feet and holding it out for me. "Ma'am's report."
It skipped from my mind that it was her appointment today. She must be missing me being next to her. I grabbed it and nodded, thanking him.
Jackie was leaning against the door frame. He had something to say. Striding forward, I stepped toward the door and motioned him to follow.
We stopped near my car. Drake and others were already in the parking lot.
"Rocky told his girlfriend some of the truth." Jackie said. Ben kept me updated after every hour. He told me that Jackie threatened Rocky. It was normal. Rocky wasn't part of the team but he was part of the plan. His seniors would keep him in line or he would lose the right to breathe.
I arched my left brow at him, questioning him.
"Ma'am was upset that this show was affecting his love life. She ordered him."
"And?" I clenched my jaw. I hated when things went not according to my plan.
"She's a doctor. Nothing dangerous. And ma'am like her." he said.
It wasn't new. She loves to make friends. "You know the drill. Keep my wife safe." I told him sternly.
"Yes, boss." He bowed.
I unlocked the car and opened the door. I didn't want to leave. I wanted to hold her to my chest and stare at the file, letting her explain everything to me.
