Chapter 81 51
Chapter 81 51
He left with his buddies when I was sleeping. Last night, he caught me off guard with his behaviour. For a minute, I thought he was the same person. It puffed immediately. I didn't know what I should trust. Things were complicated. He didn't even try to control me but also protect us. Would he change after the birth of our baby?
I told him what I felt. He didn't try to correct me but I could see the truth in his eyes. I couldn't be upset with him. When you loved someone you forgave him. He told a lie to me, for me, for our family.
He needed to know what I thought. I couture only pray he would be safe there. What would he do to uncle? The thought sent tremors down my spine. I shook my head.
A deep laugh caught my attention. My head swivelled to the door.
He wiggled his brows while smirking at me. "Hi, mi impeccable Cuñada." He strode in the hall and waved his hand at Assassin.
Assassin bowed his head and walked over to the door.
My brows furrowed when I saw him leaving me alone with him. I opened my mouth to stop him but Aaron stopped near me. He smirked down at me.
I snorted looking up at him. "How dare you think you can order him?" I asked, looking away. A frown was creasing my forehead.
"Well," He settled down on the couch. "I'm Aaron Rego." He whisper-shouted near my ear.
My jaw slackened as my head snapped at him. His smirk was reaching his eyes.
My lips thinned. "I don't trust you."
"Zhang wouldn't have left you alone with me, Cuñada." He used that name for me again.
I nodded realizing the truth. "You know from starting, still you were acting like an as." I smiled with accusation.
He laughed. It was genuine. "Brother won't like your tone. " He shook his head.
"So, you're here to babysit me. You're gonna report everything to my husband. Good, go on." I glared at him before looking away.
He laughed. "We can be friends."
"I don't trust you." I snapped.
"You don't mean it. Do you?'' He asked, inhaling deeply. He leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees.
I looked at him again. He was looking serious. " You should have told me. You have seen me crying." I sighed, shaking my head. "Why am I expecting kindness from this cruel one?" I murmured to myself so he couldn't hear me.
"You know Duante. He's the head of the family. We can't go against him. You don't know a thing." Dejectedly, he leaned back in his seat.
"I know he can be cruel." I muttered, looking down at my stomach.
He laughed. "I'm glad you didn't say something else. Well," He got on his feet. "Would you like to go out for a walk with me?" He asked, extending his hand.
I stared at his large palm. "If you'll answer my question." I asked
"I'll try. But I won't lie to you." He promised.
"Until Duante wants?" I asked him as I took his hand. He tugged me up.
"He's protecting you. He was fuming in rage the day he reached you and we heard out his intentions." His jaw was locked. Giving a little shake to his head, he began to pace toward the door.
My body tensed recalling everything. There was no back door. "How did they dig the hole in the stone wall? And a helicopter. I hope no one died to prove the point that I'm dead." His stride was slow along with me.
"Let's talk about something else. How are you feeling? I have seen many pregnant women but no one was cute like you." He pinched my cheek softly.
"Are you flirting?" I glared at him.
He laughed. "I don't wish to die soon."
"Can I talk to Tom?' I chewed on my lower lip. I didn't want to imagine what he would have been going through now? I never thought he would never make him part of his plan. Was he protecting him?
"You already know the answer. Why don't you ask for something else... like shopping?"
I shook my head. "I've shopped a lot." I told him dropping the topic when I realized I wasn't getting anything out of his mouth.
We rounded the garden twice before he walked me back to the hall. "He'll be back soon." He noticed a gloomy look on my face.
"Will he make a call to you?" I asked. I wasn't expecting a call for me. I didn't have a phone anyways.
"I'll tell him you're expecting a call from him." He said, retrieving his feet back to the door.
I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing what to say. What would I say to him when he claimed to remember nothing about us?
Assassin walked in immediately. "I'm not going to run away." I told him, rolling my eyes.
"That's not the concern, ma'am." He drifted his gaze out of the glass wall.
"Does he believe that I'm dead?" I asked.
He sighed softly and gently shook his head.
I suppressed a long sigh believing him. Otherwise, why would I be here away from our family?
I leaned back in my seat and let my eyes roamed out the glass wall. I could see the fence at a distance which was mostly covered with trees. It was kind of disappointing that I couldn't persuade him. There could be a high possibility that he didn't trust plane blast also.
It would have wounded his pride. He would do anything to retaliate. Duante must have expected this too. "He's going to sabotage everything. Tom and Mini..." I trailed, swallowing hard.
"You shouldn't mull over it, ma'am. If their lives are in danger they must be sitting right next to you." Assassin said.
I nodded agreeing with him. He wanted me and the power that Duante held, not Tom, not Mini. "Crazy Psychopath..." I muttered. I couldn't hold back the shudder that ran through my body remembering his evil face.
"Ma'am," Ben said from behind me, his voice was soft opposite to his nature.
I looked over my shoulder. He rarely called me. It was Assassin's duty most of time. He was rubbing the back of his neck.
"There's a beach. Would you like to go for a walk?" He asked.
My eyes lit up. I glanced back at Assassin with stern eyes, clearly asking him, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"You'll be an easy target there." He simply said, still eyes roaming out.
"Ok, I'll go." I told him.
Ben stormed out of the hall. I saw Aaron when he stopped.
"I hope Aaron must have thought something." Assassin said.
I giggled. "I don't know that but you must have a plan to keep me safe if something unpleasant happens."
He looked at me and smiled. "Yes, ma'am."
"Ready, Cuñada?" Aaron said, holding out a hood.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, I'm a little devil now." I smiled, taking the white hood from him.
He laughed, looking down at me. "You won't leave my side." He said in a serious tone.
I nodded, sliding my arms in. I zipped it feeling excited.
Aaron pulled the hood over my head. It was hiding half of my face. "You can easily see the sea."
"What if I fall." I gripped his hand and he tugged me on my feet.
"I won't leave your hand. Now come, Cuñada."
We started walking. I had to lift my chin higher if I wanted to see full scenery ahead of me. "What do you say to me? Cun..?"
"Sister-in-law, " He answered with a smile.
"Oh, ok," I flashed a soft smile his way.
A car was already waiting for us. Ben opened the door for me. I could tell they loved to grasp guns instead of being around a pregnant woman. I couldn't catch a single word during the meeting but I could tell Duante was out to execute the plan he discussed with them yesterday.
"I'm sorry. You and your friends have to stay with me here when you wanna be with Duante and other group of members." I said.
He looked at me with an open mouth in disbelief. "No, ma'am." He rubbed his two days old stubble, not knowing what to say as I shocked him. "It's good to take a break."
"But you don't want to take a break." I got in the seat.
"They'll be fine, Cuñada. Perhaps, these savage amigos will learn to be civil around women. It would be a great help. Girls run away from them." Aaron said, getting behind the wheel.
My big eyes stared at him in unbelieved. "I don't know that. They should..." I thought for a moment too. "Are they cruel to women?" I asked, knowing I was putting myself into danger, this was not my place to know what was happening in their personal life.
"No ma'am, we're worse with only our enemies and anyone bad." Ben replied,
I sagged against my seat in relief. Aaron pulled the car out to the iron gate. "Good to know." I muttered.
"They're adults. They'll figure it out themselves." Aaron sad.
"Yes," I nodded. I was hoping he would catch the stalker. It will end soon. We would go back to our home, stay with our family.
