Chapter 77 48

Chapter 77 48

It was deadly silence and the darkness was penetrated by the dim yellow glow of lights from some distance. Dragon was gripping the dead body from the jacket as he pulled it to the side of others.

" Sixteen," Beta smirked darkly, his hooded eyes at the opened door. From where, he could see a woman around her thirty and her arms were wrapped around a small boy near three years old. His face was pressed against his mothers chest, almost hiding, his small arms were tightened around her neck. Terror was clearly visible on the woman's face.

Devil walked silently toward them. The woman cringed back in horror. Her eyes were huge in terror, her arms were tightened around her son. She opened her mouth. But her fear clogged her throat.

His sharp gaze softened but it lasted only for a second. He beckoned at Snake.

He stepped forward immediately. "Ma'am, you and your son are safe now." He said.

Her fearful eyes snapped at him. His soft voice couldn't placate her dread. Tears were running down her dirty cheeks freely.

"Your father has sent us to rescue you, ma'am." Snake spoke in a slow tone, not wanting to frighten her more.

"My father, do you know him?" She managed to speak through her trembling lips.

He nodded, taking a long step back assuring her no harm.

"I know this day will come." Relief lacing her tone, Her smile broadened as she embraced her son tightly. "We are safe, my boy. We'll go home back." She smiled down at her son as he lifted his eyes at her. "Where's he? Can you take me to him?"

Snake slanted his gaze at him and returned to her immediately. He cleared his throat. " But their boss is still out. It wouldn't be wise, ma'am. Your father will visit you soon."

"We're taking you to a safe place, ma'am where he or his..." Wolf trailed as he looked at her son. "They can't find you. Until we catch them you have to stay hidden. It'll be fully safe." He explained to her.

His words put her into deep thoughts. She looked more worried about her child.

"No harm would happen to you and your son." Devil said in his deep tone. He wanted her to trust him without showing her his face. But it wasn't easy. He pulled the hood back.

She gasped, her widened eyes stared at him. "I trust you. " She got on her feet, still her arms circled around her son tightly.

He let out a soft sigh when she was convinced. He could feel the thick tension in the air disappearing. It was something essential that was nagging him every second. He motioned at Snake again, clearly telling them to not make a mistake and took care of them. They were important, very essential to him.

Snake led them out of the wooden house. It was cold here. His gaze traveled back in the room, taking everything in. It was a cold freezer. He wasn't quick to anger. But in that situation, she was staying in this old place with a child without much faculties, it angered him.

"We're ready to fly." Dragon said.

He curtly nodded whirling sharply on his heels. He pulled the hood back. "Go with them, Wolf. You're the head."

"They'd be safe." He promised.

He nodded telling him that he trusted him.

Wolf turned to follow them in the woods.

He stalked out, not wanting to spend another second here. His jaw was set tight, his gaze was intense. It gave him another strong reason to kill him in a barbaric way.

His mind didn't stop for a second to mull over to take down his prey. He wanted to desperately end this.

His phone beeped the minute after the helicopter touched the pad. He took it out and a deep scowl covered his forehead. He swiped on it, his eyes were intense and cold as they raked over the text. The sun was setting down. He fisted his phone as he strode toward the car. He pulled the sleeves of his shirt up in frustration.

'She can never learn to obey.' He yanked the keys from Dragon's hand in exasperation.
