Chapter 111: Watermelon Out the Size of a Lemon
Chapter 111: Watermelon Out the Size of a Lemon
“For shit’s sake Zoltan!” Iza grumbled, walking into the room.
“I know, I’m sorry. I can’t help it.” Zoltan said.
“Wolfboy,” Safyer said, looking at her mate, “everything will be good.” She put her hands on his cheeks. “You need to start asking questions about the babies, not sports or whatever you males have been talking about.” She said. “We’ll be meeting with the females tomorrow,” she started, “I want all you, numbskulls there.” She ordered.
“Why?” Austin frowned.
“Because you are going to learn how to take care of your pups.” She said with her hands on her hips.
“Do we hafta?” Rollins whined.
“Yes, you hafta.” She sternly stated.
“Now, let’s go have some dinner and relax.” She said.
The next morning, Safyer asked her mom, Celeste, to arrange for the expectant father’s to be taught how to care for their pup. How to bottle feed, change diapers and how to hold the pup. They’d be using the newborns of the females in the group that meets with Safyer.
“Okay band of merry fools, c’mon you got some learning to do.” Iza chuckled.
“What are you talking about?” Tarby asked.
“All of you are going to learn how to take care of pups.” Iza said.
“WHAT?” They yelped.
“Oh, calm down, we will be here with you.” Safyer snickered at them.
“No way am I holding someone else’s pup.” Zoltan said. “I want the first pup I hold to be my own.” He said.
“As much as I love that,” Safyer started, “you need to learn how to care for our pup.” She softly told him.
“Your Majesty, I know all of you including your mates are scared. It’s a natural feeling. I’m sure every parent here has had the same feeling.” Terry, one of the older omega nannies said.
“Terry, what if one of us drops them? None of us could live with that?” Austin frowned.
“Austin, every father to be and moms to be, have that same fear.” Terry smiled. Austin and the other males looked at their mates.
“Yes, you nitwits, we have the same fears you have,” Safyer snickered, “but the difference is that we ask questions.”
The guys sighed, “okay. What do we need to know?” Zoltan asked.
For the rest of the day, they were all shown how to care for a newborn. Zoltan was given a life like baby doll to learn what he needed to. He still refused to hold a newborn. The first newborn he wanted to hold would be his own newborn. His first pup.
“Hey, big guy, you, okay?” Safyer asked with a soft smile.
“Yeah, just never realize that caring for a pup required so much work.” He snorted.
“Yep, they take a lot of work, but we have a lot of help.” She said. “I just hope that mom can hold out until he or she is born.”
The next couple of months the guys learned how to care for pups and hoped they were ready for the real thing. Two weeks before the girls and Safyer were due they started watching their mates carefully.
Safyer started having cramping and Braxton hicks contractions. Zoltan went into panic mode. He started following Safyer around, he’s hide in the trees, bushes, wherever Safyer couldn’t see. The only thing was, she knew he was, she knew he was following her. All the girls knew their mate was following them. They were all on edge.
Safyer was visiting with her mom, Klare. When she started having contractions. She held her stomach. “Aaaahhhhhhhhh…” she cringed.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Klare asked and Ollie leaned in putting his hand on Safyer’s stomach. Her stomach went rock hard.
“Oh shit, little girl,” he gasped, “sweetheart, you’re in active labor. We need to get you to the hospital.” He said picking her up. “Klare, my love…”
“I’m right behind you.” Klare smiled. “I’ve already called Zoltan. He’s on his way.” She chuckled, “he’ll meet us there.”
“Oh geeeezzzzzzzzeeeeeee… Safyer groaned.
“Ollie, please make sure he doesn't pass out.” Klare requested.
“I will do my best,” he chuckled.
“Sweetcheeks!” they heard.
“I’m here Wolfboy,” Safyer snickered as Ollie handed Safyer off to Zoltan. “Meet us at the hospital,” she yelled out as Zoltan ran at top speed. Safyer clutched her stomach again. “You better hurry up, Wolfboy.” She gritted, “this pup of yours isn’t going to wait much longer.” She panted.
“Hold tight my Queen,” he told her, “we are almost there.” Before she knew it, they were barreling through the doors “Your Queen is ready to give birth!” He yelled.
“Bring her this way,” a nurse instructed. She led them to the private delivery room. “We need to get her in a gown.
“NO! I’ll help her,” Zoltan growled. “NO one will be seeing my mate undressed.” He snapped.
“Make sure to leave it loosely open.” She told him, as she closed the privacy curtain. “Let me know when you’re done.”
The room was busy moving around getting the room ready for the birth of the future King or Queen. After Safyer was in her gown and the bed, Doc Jude strolled in. “Doc, why are you so calm?” Zoltan asked in panic.
“Your Majesty, I’ve delivered almost every pup born in this kingdom.” He smiled. “How are you feeling?” He asked Safyer, as he reviewed her chart and looked at the fetal monitor.
“OH, I don’t know, like I’m getting to push a watermelon out of a lemon.” She chuckled.
“That’s about right.” Doc laughed. They looked over at Zoltan; his complexion was pale. “Zoltan are you okay?” Doc Jude asked. “You look very pale.” He said, “nurse bring his Majesty a chair please.” A nurse quickly set a chair for him.
He slumped down in the chair, “a watermelon the size of lemon?” He paled even more.
“Zoltan,” Jude called, “I promise she will be fine. She’ll be in a lot of pain, but females are made for this. She’ll come through with flying colors.” Doc assured him.
“Fuck!!!! Here comes another one!” Safyer growled out.
