Chapter 110: When You Fail

Chapter 110: When You Fail
“Okay, Iza take care of this mating agreement issue.” Safyer said. “It’s a no brainer; he needs to stick to the agreement. If he doesn’t then he will be locked up, striped of his title and he and his new mate will be made rogues. His former mate will help run the pack until their first born turns of age.” She ordered.

“You got it Queenie.” Iza saluted and darted out.

Safyer shook her head, “I guess that’s my new nickname.” The others just chuckled. “Okay, what’s next?”

“Not much, not exciting like the mating agreement.” Vi said.

“Yeah, supply request, kitchen restock and a few requests to join elite Moon.” Lacy said, putting each folder down on Safyer’s desk.

“The one’s requesting transfer, have Tarby and Iza do the first interview.” She started. She looked over the supply request, she didn’t see anything unusual, so she sighed off.

She put her hand on her belly and groaned. Lacy was by her side in the blink of an eye. “Saf, what’s wrong?”

“I think little bean wants to stretch out and pushing on my organs.”

The door opened with a whoosh and Safyer was in Zoltan’s arms bridal style. “What’s wrong? I felt pain in my stomach.” He said walking quickly.

“Zoltan where are you going?” she asked.

“Taking you to see Doc Jude. I wanta make sure there’s nothing going on.” He said.

“Zoltan, I’m fine.” She chuckled.

“I wanta make sure. I need to know that there’s nothing wrong.”

“You’re being ridiculous.” She said, “put me down you goon.” She smacked him.

“Nope, not until we get to Doc’s office.” He sternly said as he continued to walk.

“Your Majesty’s,” the nurse greeted, “how can we help you today?”

“I wanta see Doc Jude. My Queen was groaning like she was in pain. I want him to check her. Make sure she’s okay and that our pup is safe.”

“Of course, your Majest’s...”

“Oh, I have nothing to do with this visit.” Safyer chuckled, “it’s all his Majesty’s doing.”

The nurse held a tight smile, trying not to laugh. They’d all come to know how protective Zoltan has become. When he walks in with his Queen in his arms, they know any little hiccup she made wrong or sneezed to hard. They had a hospital pool with whom think the Queen will be carried in and what aliment the King has brought her in for. Safyer even joined in on the fun.

“What seems to be the problem? “ she asked.

“The pup kicked harder than normal, and this big oaf decided that the pain he felt wasn’t normal. So,” she lifted her hands, “here I am.”

“Pups can kick very hard and sometimes they can hit the spot that can make you cry or come to a stop.” The nurse explained.

“That maybe the case but he or she is the future of the Elite Moon throne. I need to make sure both my Queen and pup are safe.” He said.

“King Zoltan,” Doc Jude said, walking in, “they are both perfectly safe and doing well. There was no reason for you to bring her Grace in.” He smiled.

Just as soon as he said that they could see Safyer’s belly, lightly jump and roll across her skin. “See, I knew something was wrong!” Zoltan panicked, pointing at her belly.

Doc Jude and Safyer shared a look, Doc sighed and examined Safyer’s belly. “I told you he’d being me in for any little thing.” She said looking at Doc.

Doc Jude’s hands were gently moving over and around her belly. “I was hoping that talking with other dad’s to be that he’d realize that this is normal.” She said.

“NORMAL!?” Zoltan yelped. “That’s NORMAL?” he asked, as her belly jumped again and something poked out.

“Yes, you, big dummy.” Safyer said, “that light jumping is the pup. I believe she has the hiccups and that,” she pointed, “is either her foot, hand or ass.” She snickered.

Zoltan looked at doc. “She’s right, your Majesty. This little one just has the hiccups.”

“I didn’t know they could get the hiccups while being baked.” Zoltan said.

“They can suck their thumb.” Safyer said.

“They can?”

“Goddess, what do you men talk about?” Safyer asked. “They are supposed to tell you about their experiences, the ones they went through with their mate’s.”

“Oh, they did and it scared the shit outta me.” He admitted. Safyer sighed. “I am so NOT ready for this. I’m already afraid I might break him\\her.”

“You’re not going to break him\\her. If anything, you’ll hold them like little China dolls. You’ll treat them gentler than you treat me.” Safyer told him.

“I would NEVER.” He huffed with disbelief.

“Yes, you will and it’s okay.” She told him. “You’re supposed to do that. You’re supposed to be gentle, loving, and caring but you don’t let them walk all over you.” She said.

“Sweetcheeks, I am terrified.” He finally said.

“You think I’m not terrified?” she asked.

“You are not scared.” He told her.

“Of course, I’m scared. I’ve never really been around pups until now. I was always on a mission. Now, not only am I responsible for my pack but you and pups. Our pups.” She started. “I mean mom Celeste is the best mom in the world, but I don’t know if I can be the same.” She said, “what if they don’t like me?” she whispered.

“They will like you.” Zoltan told his mate, bring her in for a hug. “No... they will love you.” He whispered in her ear. “It’s me I’m worried they won’t like.” He chuckled.

She snickered, “They will love you, as long as you continue to do what you’re doing, they will love you and even like you.” She snickered.

“Why don’t you two go home, rest and just spend some quiet time together.” Doc told Zoltan. “Things will work out; this is something every parent goes through.”

“Is there some kinda owner’s manual?” Zoltan asked.

“Don’t I wish but no. It’s a learn on the job.” Doc Jude started, “yes, you both are gonna fail at things, you’re gonna get frustrated, feel like bad parents and so many other feelings but those are going to be normal feelings. Your pups will love you no matter what, but when they hit their teenage years, all bets are off.” He chuckled. “All you have to do is love them with all your heart, they will see it.” He told them. “You will have us all here to help you and to be there for you when you both fall.”
