Chapter 224 - Both his life and his pack.

Chapter 224 - Both his life and his pack.
I knew he was referring to this this morning when he decided to tease me by walking out of the bathroom fully naked and clearly knowing I wouldn't have been able to control myself from pouncing on him if we weren't supposed to get ready for today's journey.
I rolled my eyes at him, swallowing my toast. “Yes, but never do it again.“
He chuckled, his eyes intent on me. “I can't promise that.“
I shifted under his gaze, slightly intimidated by his beauty. I wasn't sure how I got so lucky with him. I felt measly under his gaze, like he should have someone more beautiful like him. His curled hair wrapped perfectly around his ears to stop at his lobes, a few stray curls adorning his forehead. His angular jaw was lightly stubbled, obviously not shaved in a couple of days. His nose was larger than mine and perfectly suited for his beautiful face, though it had a slight crook from the number of times it had been broken in fights.
His skin was beautifully tanned, complementing his dark hair and hazel honey eyes. I wasn't sure whether it was God or the Moon Goddess, but one of them really thought, "Yes, let's make the most beautiful man alive." His shoulders were broad and strong, his arms thick and tough as they clasped his cutlery. Looking at his hands, I couldn't help but notice five thick fingers that made me blush when I remembered the things they do to me. Although his fingers needed work; they were broken in some places, and he needed a file. This is because his hands were rougher than the rest of his body, often overused and injured. His right arm lay littered with small scars and bullet wounds from fights, leaving a spiral effect on the skin. I also knew he had some harsher scarring on his shoulders from the explosion he had survived months ago. And let's not get started on the rest of his body. There were mountains of muscle towering above his strong legs and wide hips. Admiring his body reminded me that, yes, he was beautiful, but his body held a lot of his secrets and difficult past. It had carried him through a lot, much like mine, and I admired him for that. I didn't see him as the ruthless Alpha who killed wolves like many others did; like I did when I first met him, I saw him as a disciplined man who would do anything to protect his family and pack. I am certain that I've totally fallen for this man.
"Is she okay?"

I snapped back to reality at the new voice, blinking up to see Alex sitting beside Raphael. The latter chuckled, nodding his head.

"When did you get here?" I wondered.

Alex rolled his eyes. "I think it was when you started to drool at His Majesty."

I narrowed my eyes in return, going back to drink my juice. He chuckled at me before turning to glance between us. I could see the questions in his eyes, so I swallowed the juice down quickly.

"What's up?" I asked.

He shook his head. "Just wanted to let you know that we'll be leaving in a few minutes."

I hummed, not believing his words; however, I decided to let it drop by changing the topic.

"Any news from home?" I asked, taking the last sip of my juice and sighing out in contentment.

Alex nodded, digging his fork into his plate filled with macaroni. "I already informed Max about our arrival. He'd gotten some vacant homes available for the new pack members, so they'll just move in when we get there."

"Will they be sufficient for everyone?"

"Yes, thanks to the recent renovations, which were made months ago, there are still some houses that have been occupied. So each family from every home will be given a place to stay."

That's good. I was starting to get worried that the new pack members, which were about 90-100, wouldn't have enough places to stay when they arrived at the Royal Empire Pack. It wasn't planned that they would be joining us because we never imagined that the Crescent Moon pack's Alpha would have a deep surging enmity with Raphael. He issued a battle challenge against Raphael, and that resulted in the Alpha losing everything he owned. Both his life and his pack.

"The pack is eager to receive them with care." Alex added, and I nodded my head in understanding.

"I'm certain there wouldn't be a problem for everyone to live together as long as the Crescent Moon Pack cooperates with us."

"Come on, we have to be on our way now." Raphael spoke, rising up on his feet and stepping away from the dining table. Alex and I did the same, pushing our chairs back.

Everyone gathered outside, each with their bags tied around their leg. While Raphael, Kylie, and I made use of the car we brought along with us, Alex would be leading the others through the woods as they would all be running in their wolf form. They were moving in large numbers, so there weren't enough vehicles to occupy them, so running was the better option.

With a couple of instructions directed to Alex by Raphael, we were hitting the road. The sun's first rays were just peeking over the horizon, and the sky was a mottled pink. I slumped down in my seat, my hand caressing my stomach and my head resting against the window. I inhaled the fresh air and sighed in contentment as I stared outside the window.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder followed by a voice calling my name. "Camilla."

I must have fallen asleep along the way because when I woke up again, the car had stopped moving. I stirred awake, opening my eyes to see that everywhere was now dark. Turning my head to the side, I see Raphael's hazel eyes staring at him.

"We are already home. You slept all through the ride, and I didn't want to disturb your sleep."

Home. That word made my stomach flutter, and I nodded my head, letting out a smile in delight. I had a place to call a home. A place surrounded by my real family, genuine loved ones, and a man I fell in love with. It was truly a home I was glad to be in.

Stepping out of the car, I noticed that Alex, along with the new pack members that would be joining us, hadn't arrived yet, and that meant that we had gotten here before them.

"Welcome, Alpha. Welcome, Luna." A grinning Maxwell approaches us. Raphael had ridden the car through the town, and we had now gotten to the pack house. Standing in front of the entrance were my grandmother, Grandma Lexy, and Landon, beaming with smiles and waving their hands at me eagerly. I increased my pace in walking to first meet up with Maxwell, and Raphael walked closely behind me. When Raphael was busy waking me up, Kylie must have already gotten out of the car and walked ahead of us into the pack house, as I couldn't catch sight of her anywhere.

"Thank you, Alex." Raphael sat beside me.

With a smile, I nodded my head at Maxwell as I got to him. "You didn't miss us for too long, did you?" I teased.
