Chapter 225 - mood
Chapter 225 - mood
I must have fallen asleep along the way because when I woke up again, the car had stopped moving. I stirred awake, opening my eyes to see that everywhere was now dark. Turning my head to the side, I see Raphael's hazel eyes staring at him.
"We are already home. You slept all through the ride, and I didn't want to disturb your sleep."
Home. That word made my stomach flutter, and I nodded my head, letting out a smile in delight. I had a place to call a home. A place surrounded by my real family, genuine loved ones, and a man I fell in love with. It was truly a home I was glad to be in.
Stepping out of the car, I noticed that Alex, along with the new pack members that would be joining us, hadn't arrived yet, and that meant that we had gotten here before them.
"Welcome, Alpha. Welcome, Luna." A grinning Maxwell approaches us. Raphael had ridden the car through the town, and we had now gotten to the pack house. Standing in front of the entrance were my grandmother, Grandma Lexy, and Landon, beaming with smiles and waving their hands at me eagerly. I increased my pace in walking to first meet up with Maxwell, and Raphael walked closely behind me. When Raphael was busy waking me up, Kylie must have already gotten out of the car and walked ahead of us into the pack house, as I couldn't catch sight of her anywhere.
"Thank you, Alex." Raphael sat beside me.
With a smile, I nodded my head at Maxwell as I got to him. "You didn't miss us for too long, did you?" I teased.Max sighed. "Believe me when I tell you that for the past three days, the whole house had been quite like a graveyard. Everyone had been so tense when we heard what was going on at the Crescent Moon Pack." He turned to look at Raphael with sad eyes. "Alpha, I'm sorry all that happened to you. I could swear that no one knew Alpha Kelvin was so indifferent towards us."
"Me neither." Raphael responded. "I never expected his sudden change of attitude, but it's all gratitude by the end of the day. Despite his taunts, we came out triumphant."
"Congratulations, Alpha and Luna, for the victory." Max said, smiling widely once again. "A welcome party has been arranged to celebrate your victory."
"Thank you, Max." As I spoke, I quickly walked ahead towards Grandma Lexy, engulfing her in a hug. "I missed you, Ma."
She chuckled, returning the hug with her hand caressing my back. "I missed you too, honey."
Disentangling myself from Grandma Lexy, I turned to my brother with a smile. "Landon."
"Lil Sis." It was his time to hug me. He came close, and I wrapped my arms around him. "We heard everything that happened, and we're glad you're back. Let's go in. You have a lot to spill to us."
"Be careful, Camilla. Don't press into him too much. Remember the baby." I heard Raphael's voice speak from behind, and I chuckled, disentangling myself from Landon.
"You don't have to be jealous of my sister hugging me, in-law. We are literally bloods, not outsiders." Landon jokingly said, looking over my shoulder, and I hear Raphael growl slightly at him. Landon's expression turns still as fear flashes across his face. "Woah, chill, bro. I was only teasing you."
I turned to Raphael to see him glaring at Landon, and I shook my head in disbelief.
"Raphael," I called, giving a glare.
His eyes snap at me, and his expression softens when they land on me. Feigning innocence, he raised an eyebrow at me. "What? Tell your brother to learn to respect me."
"Of course. I respect you, Alpha. You are the one who picks at me for nothing." Landon spoke, defending himself, and that made Raphael turn to glare at him again.
"Say that again, I dare you."
Landon clamps his mouth shut on hearing Raphael's serious tone, and I sigh, already fed up with their constant bartering. They never just seem to get along no matter how I tried to bring them closer, and I was fed up trying. I wasn't really in the mood for their bartering, so I shook my head at them and turned to face Grandma Lexy, who was staring at both of them in amusement.
"Ma. Let's go in."
"Of course." Grandma smiled, and together we headed into the house.
