Jolting news
EILEEN'S POV.
My heart broke into pieces, shattering into drops of tears that were quickly on their way to my eyes.
"But… but surely you can change their minds." I said, walking to the triplets' father, but he shook his head.
"They have made a choice." He replied, staring at me gravely, and I shuddered, announcing the arrival of my tears.
"Well… uh… If, if there's nothing that can be done, well then… I'm still their friend, so I guess I can be happy for them since they're happy." I replied, and the both of them were shocked. "It's okay, daddy. Mating shouldn't be a kind of contract, anyway. I'll find my mate soon." I added, and turned away.
"Eileen." My dad called, and I turned. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"I will be. I like the triplets, and if they won't be happy with me when their happiness is all I want, it doesn't make any sense." I replied, giving them a little smile, before leaving.
Immediately I got into my car, I held the steering wheel, and squeezed.
Was I okay? How could he ask that after breaking his daughter's heart? After all we'd added to the Alpha's wallet, he could not bend three guys to his will? How could he be so incapable of that?
Why would he…? Did he know how much I loved them? Did he know how much I had waited to see them again? And that… and that fat idiot stood next to them confidently like she suddenly had power over me, like I was nothing.
What did they desire in the maid? What exactly? Why would they pick her over me?
My tears fell angrily on my laps, as I squeezed the steering wheel hard.
They couldn't just throw me away like that. Not after all the things I had done just to get them to mate with me.
If they wanted to play the hard way with me, then I was going to let them.
I drove back to the triplets' house, and they were already having breakfast, and giggling when they saw me.
"Eileen." Kaden called, looking like he might have a little worry in his heart for me.
"I'm sorry. I just… I just had to get some air, so I could breathe." I replied slowly, as I went to take my seat. They looked at me with pity in their eyes. Yrene alone, looked at me warily, like she knew I was plotting something.
Well, I was plotting her downfall.
"You know we like you, Eileen. Not just in the way that you want." Reece said, pushing a plate of shepherd pie towards me.
"It's totally fine. I'm fine. I understand you guys want to be happy, and if Yrene can make you happy in ways that I can't, it will be senseless of me to keep on holding you back when I'm not what you need." I replied, digging a spoon into my shepherd pie, and I could see a newfound respect for me in their eyes.
Thay was exactly what I needed. Then, I turned to Yrene, who still looked uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry, Yrene. I may have acted a little out of line. It's probably because a part of me saw this coming. That's why I got so protective, and overbearing." I apologized, giving the most repentant look they'd ever seen me give.
"Oh, it's… it's fine." She replied, focusing on her plate, and I could see she wasn't convinced yet.
Well, I didn't mind. She was just a mere wolf, and there was nothing she could do, to stop my plans from hatching.
"So, I'll take my things very soon. I don't want to have any cause to bother you." I added.
"You can take your time in packing. Don't rush it up. You're always welcome here." Ethan said, giving me a little smile, and I nodded, but noticed Yrene was gripping her spoon tightly.
How I hated her. She had just stepped out of nowhere, and decided to make life unbearable for me. Very soon, she was going to return back to the nothingness she came from.
After dinner, I went to wash the plates, and Yrene also came in.
"Oh, you're here. You can wash these." I said, turning to leave, but before I could, she stopped me.
"Wash your plates. Everyone is washing their plates from now on." She told me, walking back to the sink.
"What?" I asked, turning.
"You heard me."
"I mean…" I began with a scoff, turning to her. "Just because they're mating with you now, you get to throw away your maid duties? Have you forgotten your contract?" She simply turned to me, with a belittling look and I almost lost my temper.
"Too bad. I paid the price for breaking the contract."
"With what money, you liar?"
"With the money of someone, who would definitely do to you, double of what you did to me if I asked." She replied haughtily, and I realized she had probably met someone influential when she ran away.
Well, it didn't matter. The person wouldn't be there when I eventually destroyed her.

YRENE'S POV.
I felt so uncomfortable with Eileen around. Ever since our little verbal fight in the kitchen, she seemed to hate me more.
She and the triplets got along well, and she even joined them in teasing me. Anyone would think she was a good friend trying to set us up as lovers.
Anyway, I could still handle it because she didn't try any more tricks on me when she was with the brothers.
She didn't try to make me look pathetic, nor did she try to make me look like the villain. For days, I wondered why the brothers never asked why she framed me up. It just seemed like they had totally forgotten everything that had happened, before I ran away.
When I went to school, preparing for exams, which was like a month, and some weeks away, everyone suddenly started being nice to me again. Of course, they had heard the news that the triplets went everywhere searching for me, and when they had found me, they chose me over Eileen.
As the days went past, whenever I, and Fran passed ourselves by in the hallways, it was so hard to think we'd once been friends. I couldn't imagine her holding on to me, and telling me crazy things.
It was funny how people could change, and throw you away when they realized you had changed in a way that didn't suit them. Even if the change was for a good cause, they still hated it.
I expected something bad to happen because everything seemed weirdly perfect, but I never expected it to be in the form of a jolting news.
We were all in the dining, having breakfast when Ethan suddenly received a call.
"Hey, dad…" He said, but a second later, his look changed to one of curiousity,. "Why are you…? What!?" Ethan got up from his seat, with a look of horror on his face. "Wh… what!?" He repeated again, looking like his world was crumbling. Then he threw the phone to the floor, shaking his head, slowly.
"What's wrong?" Kaden asked, and Ethan began to breathe hard.
"Dad… dad… Dad's dead."
