Chapter 332 Forgive Me

Chapter 332 Forgive Me
ADRIANA

That meant that Tim didn't know that Lucy was trying for a kid again.

“I’ll come see you later, Tim. Just hang in there. You'll be out in a bit okay?”

“That’s not what matters to me, Luna. I just want you to find who killed my wife. That's the only time I'll truly be at peace. If I get out without knowing what happened to Lucy, my life would never be the same.”

I could understand his point.

“And I'll do everything in my power to make sure that I find who did this. And I'll make them pay. I'll see you later.”

I left him and went back upstairs.

“I was about to come down to meet you. I've put people out to look for her. We should get news before the end of tomorrow.”

I didn't see Lana in her arms so I  figured that someone else had her or she had fallen asleep.

I had been focusing on the wrong person so much that she had time to run away and we had no idea. But then, there was no way that I could have caught onto her trickery.

If I hadn't gone to the house and decided to call Sandy.

A phone rang and I didn't even realize that it was mine until Hazel waved it in my face.

“It's for you.”

I didn't know the number as it wasn't saved and at first, I didn't want to pick it up because I didn't pick up unknown numbers.

“Hazel, track down Alisha's cell. That's if she hasn't discarded it already.”

I'd forgotten that I'd already picked up the call and I placed it to my ear.

“Hello?”

“My Queen, my apologies for calling you without letting you know. It's the detective you asked to find Lucy's phone. We found it.”

I stood up immediately.

”Really? Where are you? I'll come get it. Are you at the station?”

I could hear some noise in the background.

“No, I'm not. I'm at a crime scene. And I think this one concerns you, My Queen.”

My heart sank immediately and my stomach turned.

My mind immediately went to Elijah.

“Detective, what is it? Who is it?”

“My Queen, I would ask you to come down here.”

I didn't waste another getting Hazel and running outside. He told the driver the location and I had to call Leo from the car to tell him that I was going out and he should help watch the kids.

“Adriana, relax. We don't know if it's him. Have you tried calling?”

No, my brain hadn't gone there since I ended the call.

Of course, his number didn't go through when I called him. But this time around, I wasn't even mad. I was just worried.

“He’s not picking up. Hazel, call him please. I need to hear his voice.”

She tried his number too but the same thing happened . Tears were beginning to form in my eyes.

I couldn't lose my husband. I could be mad at him and never speak to him again but I couldn't imagine losing him.

“Please, drive faster. I need to see my husband.”

As we got closer, I could hear the sirens, I could see the ambulance, fire department and the police cars. Lights were flashing everywhere since the sun was going down.

I could see the thick smoke rising in the air and I didn't wait for the car to stop before I threw the door open.

Before my feet could hit the gravel, Hazel dragged me back inside.

“Adriana, I'm not letting you go out like this. You're a mess and we don't even know if it's him. You'll stay here and I'll go check.”

No way in hell.

“No, I need to see my husband. If it's him in that car, I need to see him.”

“I know, I'll let you see him but I can't let you go out first when it's dangerous. I have to go make sure that the coast is clear okay?”

I could see sense in what she was saying so even though I didn't want to stay still, I just had to.

As I nodded to her, she got out of the car and tapped on the glass and the driver locked the car door immediately.

I watched as she walked up to the police men and spoke to them.

She looked back at the car and gave the driver a thumbs up. He opened the door and I jumped out almost immediately, running towards her.

The car was still on fire and the fire department was still trying to put the fire out.

“Who is it? Whose car is it?”

I could feel the heat from the flames and all I could do was just stare into the fire.

I couldn't even see past the flames.

“Relax, it's not him.”

I looked at Hazel to see if she was lying.

“Are you sure? Are you sure it's not him?”

The detective nodded.

“It's not the King, My Queen. I apologize if my comment must have made you think that the King was in danger. I never meant for you to think that way.”

I could feel my heart hurting in my chest and I had to bend down so I would not fall over with how dizzy I was feeling.

I breathed in through my mouth and was just so grateful that Elijah was safe.

“Detective, I think it goes without saying that you need to work on your communication skills. The Queen has been crying for over an hour because of what you lead her to believe. I could personally ask from your head because of this. How can you make her think the King is dead? Do you know what that means?”

The man was stammering over his own words.

“B-Beta, I assure you that I didn't mean to make the Queen cry. I feel so sorry. Forgive me, your Majesty. It wasn't intentional. Please, forgive me.”
