Chapter 315 You're Not On Guard

Chapter 315 You're Not On Guard
ADRIAN

I woke up sometimes during the night. The sky was still dark and Hazel was standing by the gate, staring out.

“Hazel, you know you're not on guard right? You can sit down. You can't stand through the night. You need to rest too.”

She came back to sit beside me.

“I’ll get us out of this. Don't worry, I'll think of something.”

I didn't want her to put pressure on herself. Anything that wants to happen should happen.

I didn't have the strength for anything that was happening right here.

“Don’t bother yourself, Hazel. We’ll be fine. As long as we don't get thrown in jail, nothing will happen. We'll figure a way to get through this.”

It was past midnight and the activities in the station had died down. It just remained a few officers who hadn't fallen asleep asides the ones who had.

I looked at the female officer who was busy working. She looked so focused.

An idea suddenly struck me.

I called Hazel in and told her about it.

“It sounds good but we're going to have to be careful. You know that she might get in trouble for it if they find out.”

“How would they find out? It's not like we're going to wave it in their faces when we have it.”

I just needed a few minutes with my phone so that I could call Elijah.

I'm sure he would have called me since he hadn't seen me all day.

I just wanted to send him a text asking for his help as soon as possible because I didn't think I could stay in this cell for much longer.

We needed to get out of here fast.

The first step was getting her attention to come over .

I didn't even know if she would have the key but it didn't hurt to ask.

Finally, she looked our way and signalled us to come over.

“What is going on? Do you need anything else?”

I didn't know if she would be willing to do this but I just decided to try it out.

“I need my phone. I need to call my husband to get me out of here and I don't know if you can help me with it.”

She looked around.

“Your things and your car have already been taken to evidence and they're still searching over them. I don't know if they'll come back to me so I'll try to see if I can get it done for you.”

Gosh, I've never hoped for someone not to get into trouble and I kept looking at the clock and at the gate.

“Take a moment to relax. She'll be back. You're going to make it obvious that you're waiting for something.”

She was right so I sat back down and acted like I was focused on my nail.

Just in time, the ridiculous man who had questioned us when we came here appeared in front of our cell as I was waiting for her.

“Oh, the Queen and Beta are still here. I thought your King would have come to save you since then. How sad.”

He threw his head back and laughed and the other men there laughed too. I wasn't interested in what he was saying.

I just wanted him to leave.

“What do you want, old man? I don't have the time for you.”

He grabbed the bars with both hands and rattled it, waking everyone up. Hazel just sat there, looking at him.

“I’ll deal with you. I'm going to have so much fun with you when they bring you back here. It'll be fun.”

I wonder how many women he has had fun with. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of the female officer as she came out of the inner room.

There was no way to fully signal her that he was here without him finding out.

When she finally looked up and saw him, she tried to avoid him by walking towards her table but he caught her and called her.

I didn't see her holding anything and she wasn't acting suspicious either.

As she came closer to him, he grabbed her hair and she winced in pain.

“Look in there. Is that a pillow and a blanket I see? For a prisoner? How dare you? What is she, the Queen? Get those things out of there right now!”

He let go of her hair and walked away. But there was a problem..

He was still looking at her to make sure that she had done what he said so she unlocked the gate and came in, kneeling on the floor to pick up the blanket, she dropped the phone beside me.

“Ten minutes. Hurry up.”

She picked up the pillow and walked away. It's a good thing she didn't take away the blanket because I could easily sleep on it as long as it was soft.

Immediately, I turned towards the wall to dial his number. That's when I realized that she had brought Hazel's phone.

Nonetheless, I still sent him a text, telling him that we were in the police station by the coast and that we had been arrested. I even tried calling him but he wasn't picking up.

There was no way I'd ever called or texted Elijah that he hadn't replied immediately. He's always with his phone so why wasn't he responding?

He was the only one who could help.

So I decided to text Leo to tell Elijah what was going on. All I had to do now was wait for help to come.

The female officer returned to collect the phone and I was already done at that time.

Hopefully, Leo will show his father the text and get us out of here by tomorrow.

Later that morning, Hazel and I finally fell asleep on the blanket and we were woken up later in the day by another officer who wasn't there yesterday.

“Wake up. It's time.”
