Aurelia's POV
Aurelia's POV
In the dark room, time seemed to be non existent, like I was just living the same day over and over. The routine life was making me lose my mind faster than the regular beatings.
I was not sure how long I was being held there. And at that point, I had stopped caring.
What I wanted most was for the pain to end. Derek was getting cockier now. At times he would sit and talk to me for hours, ranting about how his plan was so perfect and how he would finally get what was rightfully his.
I wanted to tell him to shut up desperately, to tell him I was done hearing his rants, but I couldn't. They made sure I was in regular pain, perhaps to stop me from even considering running away again.
The woman never came back after that time. It was only Derek, and sometimes the occasional org who came to sniff me and lick me.
I knew he wanted me dead more than both Derek and the strange woman combined.
My life was hazy at this point, no hope of escape. I was sure I was also beginning to transcend to the other world.
So when I saw the blinding light appear in my cage that night, I chalked it off as my imagination going wild.
" Aurelia" a voice said. I got up, the pain suddenly seeming to have vanished in a second.
My eyes finally got adjusted to the light, enough to make out the woman figure who stood in it.
She had her golden long hair cascading down her shoulders, her body wrapped in a pure white dress with a small cut out.
" Who are you" I asked, not scared, but at the same time surprised.
I had figured out that my life was probably not even mine any longer. It belonged to Derek now.
" I'm the moon goddess child. Walk with me" she said.
Suddenly, the scene changed. The crusty old cage seemed to vanish, giving way to a beautiful garden with sweet smelling flowers that were pleasing to the eye.
I looked around swiftly, trying to locate her. She was far up ahead, bent over and studying something.
I walked up to her, figuring out that this was probably a dream. Something my mind contorted to at least give me some sense of control.
She was studying a little blue flower, holding it delicately like she was afraid to ruin it.
" You know the thing about flowers? They are so different. Each one of them. We have the early bloomers and the late bloomers. But when they all bloom, they give the best feeling of warmth. Just like you Aurelia" she said.
" How do you know my name?" I asked.
It was probably a stupid question. After all she just called herself the moon goddess, and this was definitely a dream so at it would be pretty normal for me to know my own name in my dream state.
" I have been watching you. Waiting for you to find your destiny on your own. But oh it's been tough to watch" she said, chuckling a little.
She moved from the flower to another, the flower was not in bloom yet, looking so odd among the fully bloomed flowers.
" But I know you would shine beautifully when you finally find your destiny dear. And I think I have come to acknowledge the fact that some times, people need a little push, towards their destinies" she said.
With that, she waved her hand slowly, sprinkling droplets of water into the flower.
Slowly, it opened, revealing a vibrant red colour.
" So that, you can bloom, and shine brightly. I'm done sitting back. While I won't interfere with your life, I would give you just a little nudge, towards the right direction." She said.
She got up and gave me her hand, asking me to take it.
I looked at it unsurely.
" That's a very generous request. But I can't really do anything in a cage. I might probably die tomorrow. And this has been fun, but it's making me forget my reality so I want to wake up now." I said.
She smiled sadly. For a while she did not say anything. To refute my claims of it being a dream or to acknowledge it.
" Say, for instance you don't get killed. Say you somehow managed to escape. What would you do?" She asked.
It was a question that had a pretty obvious answer.
" I would go back to my mate. He is where my destiny lies " I said. The thoughts of having kids alone with him had my belly quivering even in dream state.
" But are you really sure that's where your destiny lies?" She asked.
It was a tricky question. I did not know what she meant or what she was trying to say.
" I feel like you should figure it all out on your own. But in the spirit of giving you a nudge towards your destiny, here is a tip. Your destiny lies in alpha alder's pack." She said.
I was beyond confused at this point. What did she mean by that? That pack? The same pack that maltreated and tortured me?
" What do you mean by that?" I asked quickly.
She smiled softly, her smile radiating like the moon.
" It's not my story to tell Aurelia. Now, I think you should wake up." She said.
" What no...tell me what you meant!" I was saying.
I opened my eyes, the sharp light and the heavenly garden gone, just replaced with the cold cage and the smell and rot of the numerous mice I have killed in an attempt to rid the place of them.
I looked around, my eyes adjusting to the darkness. No one seemed to be around.
As my eyes finally adjusted to the darkness, something caught my eyes.
The cage door.
The cage door that was under locks and keys. The cage door was wide open with no one in sight.
