Aurelia's POV
Aurelia's POV
I had stopped believing in miracles ever since I prayed to the moon goddess to kill all my pack members in their sleep but it never happened.
But this, it was more than a miracle. From the few times I had spent with Derek I had come to find out that he was very meticulous.
Or perhaps he just hated me enough to make sure I never left the cage but all that didn't matter.
He never left the door open even when he was in. It was always locked.
So seeing the door staring wide open, basically begging me to run, I could not help it.
I felt a sudden surge of energy wash through me as I got up.
Suddenly, all the will to live that had been sucked out of me seemed to be crawling back with more force than ever.
My body hurt, but I didn't mind. I was going to get out of here or die trying.
And I would get back to my mate.
As I exited the cage that seemed to have held me prisoner for longer than I could imagine, I made a run for it.
I found it a bit strange that no one, not even the hungry org was around.
Perhaps this had something to do with the woman from my dreams?
As I exited the cave, I did not stop running. I had no idea where I was running to but I knew I was running away from them. The people who kept me caged like an animal for God knows how long.
As I saw the morning light start to emerge, I knew it was probably time for me to slow down.
I had been running for hours, probably gained more grounds by the time they realized I was gone.
I stopped to rest by a tree, the fatigue slowly settling in.
Even my wolf seems to be more alive than ever.
I healed quickly, my body using all the adrenaline and channeling it into fuelling my healing.
I heard a branch break, and I sat up quickly.
I did not wait to see what would follow that branch breaking. I took off running again, not stopping until I got to a small body of water.
The water seemed to glisten as I stared into it.
Inviting me to go for a swim.
My reflection in the water looked disheveled and battered. But not hungry.
If anything, Derek made sure to feed me well.
And now that my wounds were almost healed, I nearly looked healthy.
For the first time, as I stared into my eyes, I could see passion, burning like a flame in them.
I stripped from the tattered clothes, going quickly into the water and submerging myself to get rid of the stench and grime that covered every inch of me.
After I felt clean enough, I got out of the water, putting on the ragged clothes back.
I scooped a little water to drink got on running.
It was probably night time now, I had no idea where I was or who could be out there.
As I sat on the tree, watching the sky twinkle, I could not help but feel at a loss.
I had no idea how to locate the nearest pack. And if I eventually did locate the pack, I might be seen as a rogue.
I let go of all the thoughts rampaging my head as I closed my eyes, allowing the sounds of nature to lure me into a deep sleep.
~~~
When I woke up, the day was far gone. I jumped up with a start, surprised at how comfortably i had slept on a tree branch.
I was tired of running by now, I walked aimlessly in the think forest, kicking rocks and searching for any sign of human life.
Then, I saw a piece of clothes left hanging on the tree.
It was a pair of shorts and a shirt.
I could barely hold in my joy.
Werewolves always had clothes scattered on trees around their borders, Just in case they shifted and needed to change into their human form back.
I could barely hold in my joy.
I shed off my ragged clothes quickly like they burned my skin, slipping into the slightly big clothes.
Then I began to search around quickly, looking for a pack entrance or anything that could signifu pack life.
I heard a growl from behind me as I searched.
It sounded very angry.
I turned around slowly, trying to not offend the person any more than I already have.
" Who are you and what are you doing on our borders" he asked, his wolf seconds from coming out.
It was a tall and muscular guy. His blonde hair was toussled and he had only a pair of shorts on.
But that was not the worst part.
I knew him. He was the pack warrior. For alpha alder's pack.
The same pack I grew up in, the same pack I had begged the moon goddess to not lead me to.
Remember when I said miracles didn't exist? Yes. I was sure they didn't.
