NEVER WANTED TO BE AN ALPHA

"You can rest assured, Luna, and leave this all to me. I will clean the room in such a way that the floor will shine and the soldiers will be able to see their reflection on them." Polene said, high spirited. The more she talks to the Luna and finds out how much she cares about the people of her pack, Polene couldn't help but get more motivated to help her.

Licia watched the housekeeper rush into the kitchen and appoint a few maids to immediately get into the cleaning work. The Luna was very satisfied by the process but for some reason, she was feeling extremely dizzy.

Back in the town…

"Deliver this to the King as soon as possible…"

"Yes, Alpha!"

The man lashed the horse and rode away with the envelope that was handed over to him by Alpha Enrique. The head of the town who was accompanying him asked, "Alpha, wasn't that…"

"A letter to the King." Alpha Enrique watched the horse and his messenger riding far away into the land and continued, "I have got married as he ordered and the supplies are being distributed to the town's people. So, I need to report back to him."

"I understand. But will this be alright, though? Thomas is a good rider and he is well versed with the route but he has never been a messenger before." The head of the town stated his concern. Alpha Enrique turned around and left, saying, "What could possibly go wrong? All he has to do is not lose the letter, say my name at the city gate and then deliver the letter."

"I see…"

Even though it wasn't a major problem and he had already found a solution for it, still it was troublesome that this town didn't even have a proper messenger to deliver a letter. This place seemed to become more and more pitiful as he takes a closer look at it. What was more alarming was that this town wasn't the only one in the territory under the Ravenwood pack. The territory occupied by this pack was the largest one in Ulsalwad, covering approximately 70% of the kingdom. If a town in such a close proximity to the Alpha's castle can be in such a state of ruin, the ones that are further away must be in an even worse state.

Gosh!

This was quite troublesome!

The wind started to blow heavily, distracting his thoughts from the town to the current weather condition. He looked up at the sky and noticed the gray clouds which were rolling in it. "Looks like it is gonna pour soon. I have to hurry back." Alpha Enrique said before he transformed into his wolf. Reed was a magnificent black wolf with silver eyes; he was gigantic and powerful just like an Alpha wolf. All Omega wolves would be small and weak unlike Reed; this was another reason why the Lycan King was dead set on making him an Alpha as he believed that he was blessed by the Moon Goddess herself and was, indeed, a true Alpha.

Alpha Enrique reached the lower chamber of the castle where he had his clothes, he changed into a new set of clothes and marched inside the castle with a lot of thoughts occupying his mind.

He learnt from the town head today that the main river floods every year in the rainy season. Last time, the rain stopped shortly after it started causing no calamity but there is no guarantee it will be the same next time. He has to get the banks reinforced before the monsoon starts taking its pace.

He had a lot of things to do now as he was the leader of this pack now.

He has to figure out how to rebuild the patrol forces who had deaertetfhe castle while it was empty. He had to assign guards at the outskirts of his pack territory to ensure the safety of the members. He also had to find capable and trustworthy people to restore the administration here as well.

Tomorrow morning, or latest by the morning after, his soldiers will be here so it will become a little easy for him to take care of these things. But along with them, people from the other packs and towns will be here too after catching wind of the rumors.

He will need to bring in builders and artisans to build more facilities and restore the houses and buildings. Crops that can be quickly cultivated should be distributed first to ensure that the people are getting food.

He also has to take a look at the map of Ravenwood's territory to understand the geography of this area and make plans accordingly.

The man halted on his steps and clenched his teeths.

Screw it!

He thought to himself how he ended up like this. The man was annoyed when he thought of the responsibilities that were put on his shoulders after he became the Alpha now. He felt like he had a much laid back life when he was an Omega once. Yes, he had a shitty life but at least he was carefree and never had to take up this much stress.

They have already distributed the supplies once but he can't keep doing it forever unless he himself wanted to starve to death. But if he were to stop supplying without arranging anything for the people, they would start complaining.

He was sure that Cayden must be enjoying tormenting him like this.

The man let out a sigh as his eyes became a little dazed. He never wanted to be the Alpha and he would not have bothered himself with all these responsibilities if not for that damned woman…

He thought back of the things that she told him this morning; her eyes were focused and determined when she talked about helping the people in this pack.

When his wife wanted to do something, he could not just sit back and let her do it. She would be really happy if she manages to do what she had dreamt of.
