The Alpha Wins
The Alpha Wins
Sylvia's POV
I watch the fight begin.
Damian strikes first, his sword getting unsheathed mid air as he attacks Valen, but Valen defends with his own sword still sheathed.
My eyes widened when I caught Damian's sudden movement as he brought a short blade out from his pocket, attacking Valen with it, but Valen had noticed, making me heave a sigh of relief.
He stopped the blade from getting driven into his side with his other free hand while he pushed Damian back with his sword.
Valen smirked, starting to realize how cunning Damian could be.
Valen rushed towards Damian, unsheathing his sword as he didn't even care where the sheath fell to.
He aimed for his shoulder, but Damian dodged, moving over to Valen's back as he tried to slash him from the back but Valen knew, his sword moving to his back to defend the attack even before he turned.
Valen kicked his knees, making Damian stagger backward a little, but it only took him a second before he steadied himself.
He swung his sword over Valen's head and Valen bent backward, backflipping twice to defend Damian's other strikes.
I was getting scared, seeing how intense the duel was getting, and my body shook when a voice rang behind me.
“What's happening?” I turned to see Princess Fiona behind me, her gaze fixed on the two on the training stage.
I bowed to her in respect, my gaze turning to look at the two who were still fighting fiercely.
“They are having a duel” I made it simple, not daring to tell her that the duel was taking place because of me.
Her face twitched with concern. “A duel this intense?”
I gave no reply to her words, but together, we watched the fight.
I watched both of them, then Valen turned to the right while Damian turned to the left.
Valen's steps were carefully picked as he stretched his sword, the sword getting to Damian as it slightly pierced through his chest though it couldn't pierce deeper because of the distance.
Damian groaned, his eyes turning a bit red as he dipped his hand into his side pocket, throwing a small star blade to Valen's side before we could even register what it was.
The small blade pierced through Valen's cheeks, leaving a cut on his handsome face and that made Valen withdraw his sword from Damian's chest.
I gasped, and so did Fiona.
Fiona stepped forward, wanting to climb the stage.
“We have to stop them!” she said, but I held her back, causing her terrorized gaze to land on me.
“I've tried. You won't be able to stop them, "I told her.
That was the truth as I knew the duel won't come to an end if there wasn't a winner.
I let go of Fiona who stood still and just watched as things unfold.
I thought they'd give it a rest since they've got injuries, but no, Damian attacked again immediately, swirling his sword over his head before he tried to slash Valen.
Valen stopped the attack with his legs in one swift move and had his legs moving in a circle on the floor in an attempt to make Damian fall.
Damian jumped up, but as his legs landed on the floor again, Valen attacked, his sword sweeping the ground as he wanted to strike Damian's legs with the blade, but Damian defended.
He stepped on Valen's sword, using his legs to pick it up, but Valen withdrew the sword, swinging it in one motion aiming to drive it into Damian's stomach.
I gasped as that was close. Though it was almost late, Damian was able to block the attack with his sword.
Valen pushed his sword further towards him, forcing Damian to stagger backwards against his will while still defending.
Then he took one hand off the sword, his hand getting dug into his pocket.
I couldn't see what he did, but when he took the hand out, he growed his claws, slashing Valen's side with it.
Valen weakened immediately, staggering backward as his sword fell off his hand.
Fiona gasped while my eyes widened as I tried to figure out what Damian had done to him, but couldn't.
My throat tightened when Valen fell to the ground, shaking his head as he tried to focus, his wolf growling so loud that everyone of us could hear it.
I heard Damian sigh, turning his back to Valen while he ran his hands through his hair, sighing again in relief.
I rushed over to Valen on the training stage as I crouched down beside him, checking his wounds only to realize that Damian had added poison to his claws to slash him.
“Valen?” My lips trembled as I whispered.
I looked at the claw slash at his side, watching blood drip from it.
Tears blurred my vision as it was the first time I would be seeing Valen in such a vulnerable state.
“Valen?!” I called again in a whisper and he opened his eyes, his wolf still growling, like the beast he had tamed inside of him was fighting to be let loose.
“You can't lose yourself!” I whispered. “I don't want to leave you”
I stood up, turned and quickly walked back to where I was standing before Damian would notice.
Seconds later, Damian turned to him again, wanting to point his sword at his neck when Valen stood up like he hadn't just become weak.
He jumped over at Damian, twisting the both of them around before he dropped off him, pushing him to the ground with so much force.
Damian couldn't retaliate as he wasn't expecting the attack from Valen.
Valen kicked Damian in the hand, throwing his sword to the air with his leg as he ended up grabbing it into his hand, then pointed it at Damian who was still groaning on the ground.
The sword slightly cut Damian's neck when Valen asked. “Do you accept your defeat?”
Damian gritted his teeth hard before he replied. “I do”
The words were barely audible, but I heard it loud and clear.
Valen sighed, dropping the sword before collapsing to the ground.
“Alpha…..!” I yelled, rushing towards him.
