Healing the Alpha

Healing the Alpha
Sylvia's POV

I lifted Valen off the ground, taking him out of the stage.

His temperature was high, sweat beading his forehead.

Fiona stopped me before I made it past her. “I'll take him,” she said.

I couldn't argue, instead, I just handed Valen over to her.

I watched her back as she walked, while limping with Valen relying on her shoulder to walk.

He was so weak, his body already reacting to the poison.

I snapped my gaze to the back, climbing the training stage as I stood in front of Damian, lifting him off the ground.

“Mind explaining to me the reason behind what happened here today?” I asked him.

He groaned. “You're being treated badly here, Sylvia, we both know that. I was only trying to save you” he said.

My gaze lingered on him for a while before I spoke. “I appreciate your help, but I'm fine here”

“You digging into my affairs without my permission is you stalking me and I don't like that” I paused.

“I know you mean well and only want the best for me, but you've crossed the line by coming here and challenging the Alpha to a fight” I said.

“And you even used poison on him, that's unacceptable” I swallowed. “I hope you don't show up here again”

“I'll always be grateful for your help and company” I added.

“Please take good care of your injuries” I said, then walked away without glancing back.

I moved to Valen's room, seeing Fiona walk out of the room as she turned to Rodrigo who was standing in front of the door.

“Do not let anyone in, I would be back with the physician” she said then left while I hid behind a wall.

I watched her back as she hurried out to fetch the doctor before I showed up in front of Rodrigo.

“Make an exception for me, Rodrigo,” I said. “I have to see the Alpha,” I told him.

“You must have heard the princess then, she said not to let anyone in” Rodrigo said, making my gaze darkened.

“I thought you followed only the Alpha's orders? Will you take responsibility if something happens to him?!” I asked and he could only gulp.

“The Alpha is in this grave situation because of me. Let me in, and I will be quick” I told him, my gaze now pleading with him.

He hesitated for a while, but we both knew the Alpha's life was in danger so he let me in.

Getting into the room, I rushed over to Valen on the bed, crouching down beside him as I felt his temperature.

His temperature was no longer high, but oddly cold and he was still sweating so profusely, groaning in his sleep.

I checked the slash mark Damian had given him and saw that it had changed color.

I touched him, my hands trailing his arms to his shoulder.

The poison was spreading slowly, already making one of his arms go numb.

Before the physician arrived, I was sure the poison would have spread wide, affecting other parts of his body.

I quickly sat on a stool in front of him, placing my hands together with my right hand atop my left one like I was covering an oval.

I focused my energy into the hands, a soft golden glow erupted from nowhere into the middle of my rounded hands.

Then I directed the surge of energy into Valen whose body shook at the sudden energy that went into him.

My energy was draining, but I was sure that Valen was starting to heal.

My gaze went to his side, landing on the slash mark which was starting to close up, the poison in him seeping out like water.

I was still healing him when my hands trembled, the focus I had used to gather the energy for minutes getting disoriented.

My core energy was draining and I was becoming weak, not able to hold the power I was using for the healing.

I decided to pause for a while, seeing the wound had almost closed up.

My gaze landed on his face which still had the cut Damian had given him and I went through his drawers, bringing the first aid kit out.

I cleaned his wound with antiseptic then applied a bandage on it.

Then I resumed the healing, knowing I would have regained some energy.

It didn't matter at the moment if my energy was draining, getting Valen back to his conscious state was more important as my energy would be replenished sooner or later. But if his health is not taken care of now, then there might never be a chance to do so.

The glow came again and I directed the energy into his body, but it only lasted for a few minutes when Valen's eyes fluttered open, his gaze landing on me.

My hands dropped to my side, a sigh subconsciously escaping my lips.

“I guess I'm alive,” he chuckled.

“Does your life seem like a joke to you? Why the hell would you agree to the duel?!” I scolded.

He smirked, lifting his head off the bed as he leaned in closer to me. “Did you think I was going to let you go even if I lost the fight?”

“Of course, I knew you wouldn't,” I glared at him.

“Do you know the thought I had when he slashed me?” He asked. “I thought I'd never get to see you again”

Before I could give a response, he sealed his lips with mine, one of his hands grabbing my neck as the other held my arm.

I blinked, but found myself kissing him back.

The kiss lasted for minutes and when he pulled away, a throat was cleared behind me, making me know someone was in the room.

I quickly stood up, my gaze landing on Fiona who froze on a spot, the physician being the one who cleared his throat.

My heart raced. Since when have they been standing there?

Fiona was able to recollect herself as she stepped closer, ignoring me with her gaze fixed solely on Valen.

The physician also moved to Valen, checking his pulse and wounds as his gaze narrowed.

“This is strange. How could he have healed so quickly?” He muttered, then checked his wounds closely before his gaze darted to me in surprise.

He then stood before me, bowing his head deeply.

“It's the power of the Phantom Queen. Greetings, Queen” the physician bowed deeply and with the aid of my hand, I helped him rise.

I turned to the Alpha, the both of us acting like nothing had happened just now. “I’ll take my leave now, Alpha”

I turned to Fiona, bowing slightly before I moved out of the room.

The way she looked at me like she could kill me with those eyes didn't make me flinch, but the pain in her eyes made my jaws tightened.

She likes Valen. She really does.
