Chapter 49
Ash knew that he had not been thinking right when he went after Asha and her foolish decision, but he would never stand and watch a woman fall to her death while he did nothing about it, powers or not.
At this point, he could tell that he wasn't going to catch up with her and there was nothing he could do.
To his surprise, they both stopped moving and remained suspended in mid air.
"What's happening?" He thought to himself, trying to stand upright in that position.
They both continued to move upwards until they reached the mountain top where Minrad’s body was and a flabbergasted Myan stood still with wide eyes.
"Ash!" Myan went to his side with a hug, sobbing against his chest immediately she had the chance to.
"Why would you do that? Why on earth would you?!" She pulled away and slapped his chest hard, not caring to understand the reason behind his astonishing save. "You didn't even think about me, why were you…" she stopped talking and looked at Asha where she sat still on the floor, hating that she was still alive.
A strong wind pulled their hair and dresses in a zig zag direction and each person reflexively put their hands in front of their face to act as a shield.
The wind centered in an area above them and slowly began to take the form of a bright light, birthing the shape of a human like figure.
"Anukgo…" Ash muttered under his breath.
"What is this madness?" The translucent figure spoke after he had taken full form.
"My lord…" Ash went on one knee and bowed his head. Myan remained where she stood, coming to the conclusion that none of this concerned her in the first place.
Anukgo was bald and his long, white beard seemed to cover his nakedness as it stood where a garment should have been. He looked around him at the damage that had occurred and shook his head when his eyes landed on Minrad.
"You have transformed the worlds into a game of life and death, forgetting your responsibilities as lord,” he began.
Myan felt comfort in his voice that left a trail of echo. This man sounded like a tired angel, and she wanted him to keep talking.
"I'm no longer lord." Ash felt the need to put it out as a reminder.
"Frost." Anukgo put his hands behind him and called.
As if that gentle tone was magic, Frost appeared out of nowhere, thrown to the floor from wherever he had been to their center. He lifted his head and frowned, confused as to how he got there in the first place.
"You have misplaced priorities." Anukgo cut his scrutiny.
Frost instantly recognizing the bearded man took the same position as Ash. Anukgo wasn't any ancestor, he had been the first lord to rule over water and fire before his death.
"My lord, this was necessary." Frost began in a raised voice.
"Necessary?" Anukgo frowned for the first time since getting there.
"What do you mean by necessary? You just took the lives of hundreds of innocent souls. The last time I saw these many dead bodies, it was when the worldly war broke out!" He snapped. "No lord in their right senses would do this, especially over a personal matter!"
"My lord, he killed the woman I love!" Frost sounded like a whining child in that voice of his, but he used it anyways, sweat staining his shiny forehead, blending into the blood cuts he had sustained.
"You have gone down in history as the worst lord. You went as far as rid the fire world of a ruler, you haven't just brought shame upon yourself, you have laid indefinite curses on your generation, and you will receive your reward."
Frost stood to his feet with a frown. "Excuse me, but why is a dead man making the choices? Have you nothing else to do in the spirit realm than bother the life I choose? I was made lord for a reason and should get to make my own rules. Who are you to decide?" He clenched his fists by his sides. He felt a sore and sour taste in his mouth before realizing he had lost his ability to speak in that instant.
"For this reason, I'll place a thousand-year-old curse on these worlds." Anukgo began, spreading his arms, his eyes closed and his voice going deeper…"neither world will be aware of the existence of the other, except for the witnesses here today. A thousand-year barrier is put between these worlds until this generation is wiped and future worlds can live as one."
With the conclusion of his words sprang forth an irresistible breeze that felt like it swept them off their feet, but they would never be able to tell because they all went unconscious in that instant.

Myan opened her eyes reluctantly. The bed felt so good, and the warm room made her feel like sleeping forever. "What happened?" She sat upright, blinking repeatedly before finally gracing to open her eyes fully. "Ash?" She looked around and saw that she was back in their bedroom and that was when it all dawned on her, her dream…that had been a long dream.
"Wait, what?" She furrowed her eyebrows, looking around her in confusion. "That is impossible, there is no way all of that could have been a dream."
Standing to her feet, she began to call for Ash, a part of her feeling like he would be nowhere to be seen but as soon as she stepped into the living room, he was the first thing that came to her view.
"Myan?" He called, shock in his eyes
"What's wrong?' She swallowed, expecting the worse to come.
"I…" he began, moving closer to her.
