CHAPTER 18. POLICE OFFICE

"So you didn't know, and didn't see the perpetrator of the attack?" a policeman asked Diego, who couldn't wait to punch the man with the thick mustache in the face. However, he kept remembering Sandra's message to behave himself, with the lure of delicious food.

"Can you give me another question? You've repeated the same question almost ten times. Are you forgetful?" Diego protested.

"You only have to answer, not ask questions!" the policeman scolded, pounding on the table. "You've also hit the police, rendering them unconscious. Your actions have violated... "The policeman with the thick mustache stopped his long rambling when someone knocked on the door.

"Who else could it be? It's a nuisance. Come on in!" he shouted. Then a middle-aged man entered the room and began to introduce himself as Sandra's father's confidant. He had been sent to exonerate Sandra and Diego of all charges. The middle-aged man showed him the necessary papers.

Diego looked at the middle-aged man with mixed curiosity and relief. The policeman who had been firm now looked a little trembling in front of Sandra's father's confidant.

"Well, then we can get this over with. They are free of all charges, there is no need to linger here," said the middle-aged man while looking through the files he had brought with him.

Diego smiled a little, realizing that Sandra's promised help had arrived. So he didn't have to be patient with the man with the shaved head for long. However, in his mind, there were still doubts about the middle-aged man who introduced himself as Reynol. For some reason, Diego found Reynol frightening, even though there was no aura of darkness emanating from his body.

Meanwhile, the policeman with the thick mustache still looks a little annoyed, but doesn't dare to fight the power Sandra's father has. Especially when Reynol explained that Sandra's father wanted to ensure the safety of his daughter and Diego. "We don't want any false accusations to happen to them, so please cooperate," he added seriously showing a flat face without expression.

"Okay, the woman will be allowed to go home. You can take her this very second. However, this man has beaten the police, so he can't go home as easily ...." As if he understood what the policeman with the thick mustache wanted, Reynol immediately opened his leather bag took out a brown envelope, and thrust the envelope in front of the policeman.

I think this money is more than enough to treat your friends' wounds." the policeman smiled broadly as he quickly took the envelope given to him. he peeked at the contents and smiled happily. "You are very understanding. Please pass on my thanks to Mr. James."

Having gotten what he wanted, the policeman glanced at Diego who had been sitting quietly next to him, not preparing to leave. The policeman gave a code by blinking his eyes at Diego. But Diego didn't understand the code and thought the cop was teasing him.

"Oh my! What's this old fart doing? It's disgusting!" Diego thought as he shifted his seat so he wasn't facing each other, which brought a smug look to the policeman's face. With a forced friendly face, the policeman said, "What are you waiting for? Get out of here, you've been released."

"You should have told me to leave," Diego scolded, pounding on the table in imitation of the cop's outburst. Diego got up from his boring, stuffy seat. As he exited the police station, he was led by Reynol to a luxury car parked in the police station parking lot.

"Diego!" A woman came out of the car and took his hand to get into the car. Once inside the car, Sandra voiced all her complaints, including waiting a long time in the car alone.

"Why is it taking so long, Uncle? What if the mustard suddenly comes to this place!" said Sandra who looked very very nervous.

"Sorry, Miss. There was a little problem, the policeman wouldn't let him go home. Fortunately, he was still able to soften after being given money," replied ReynoI still in a flat expressionless mode.

"Well, then please take us home, Uncle," Sandra pleaded while trying to take a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"Mr. James's message is that from today onwards you will live with him. For the sake of your salvation, Miss." Sandra immediately became inflamed and refused her father's wishes. But Reynol seemed unfazed, he continued to drive the vehicle to the James family residence. Diego was amazed to see the James family residence which looked like a palace.

"Is this a palace? It's so beautiful!" Diego praised. It seemed that Sandra was not in a good mood, so she chose to stay silent with a sullen face.

"Please, Miss," said Reynolds as he opened the car door for Sandra.

"Where's dad? I need to talk to him."

"Sir is in a meeting at the branch office, he'll be back in the evening. You'd better get some rest first." Sandra had no choice but to be patient until her father returned. Sandra pulled Diego's arm to follow her into the house.

Just as she entered the house, she was presented with a sight that cut her to the core. In the living room, she witnessed Sarah and Alex making out. Shamelessly they continued the hot activity even though Sandra had caught them red-handed. They only stopped when they realized Diego's presence.

"You two are so disgusting!" cursed Sandra stepping away leaving two couples who were in a hurry to put on their clothes. Arriving at her old room, Sandra flopped on the bed and poured out all her sadness. She cried like a child. Fortunately, the room was soundproof so Sandra didn't worry if her cries were heard by Sarah or Alex.

Because she cried for too long, making the woman fall asleep, she woke up when it was getting dark. Due to the effects of waking up, the woman staggered towards the bathroom. Her body felt hot and wanted to take a shower immediately. the splash of water coming out of the shower made her so comfortable. However, she realized that the faucet in the bathtub was open. "Why is the faucet open? Is it broken again?"

Sandra pulled back the curtain that surrounded the bathtub and saw someone floating face down. Sandra screeched loudly because she thought there was a corpse in the bathtub. The initial intention was to get out of the bathroom immediately, but due to a lack of caution, Sandra slipped and fell into the bathtub. Sandra was hit by a panic attack until she was unable to control her fear.

She screamed in fear, closing her eyes tightly, floundering in the bathtub filled with water. The scream intensified and almost made her faint when a pair of hands touched her shoulders.

"Don't hurt me!" she screamed.

"It's me. What's wrong with you?" Sandra slowly opened her eyes and saw Diego in front of her. the woman could breathe a sigh of relief after knowing that in front of her right now was Diego, not a human corpse. "Sandra, where are your clothes?" Diego asked, turning his face away from the sight he didn't deserve to see.
