CHAPTER 17. ATTACK WITHOUT RESISTANCE

Three centuries ago, in the beautiful valley where the Eastern wolves roamed peacefully on the slopes of their mountains, a golden era embraced them with the harmony of nature. However, fate had other plans. When the dry season struck, suffocating all forms of life, including the Eastern wolf clan who were trapped in misery.

King Markus, the wise leader of the clan, felt a deep sense of responsibility when he saw his people starving. Earnest efforts were made to save them from the death that lurked in the darkness. However, fate presented an unexpected challenge.

Amid the despair, along comes Diego, a brave teenager among the Eastern wolves. With unwavering determination, he decides to search for a solution even if it means spending nights in the library, groping for ancient words and clues that might be the key to the clan's survival.

However, Diego's efforts felt like entering an endless maze. Every page he turned, every piece of advice he encountered, seemed to lead him to a dead end. Still, his determination did not falter, and he continued to search for answers among the ancient pages and dusty letters.

Until one gray cloudy day, King Mark felt pressed in his efforts to find a way by performing a ritual asking the Gods for rain. As the story has repeated before, his efforts failed again, and at about the same time, a terrible fate befell King Mark who fell ill. Diego, the anxious crown prince, could no longer hide his despair.

As the situation worsened, Zayn, a wise confidant of his father, appeared in the night to help. In the silence of Diego's room, Zayn said, "Actually, I know a way to solve this drought."

Diego, full of astonishment, voiced his concern, "Why didn't you tell us before, Zayn? You even let this situation deteriorate."

Zayn, with a face full of sadness, put his arm around Diego's shoulders, explaining, "It's not that I didn't want to, but the king didn't give permission." A sense of confusion crept into Diego's thoughts; why would the king withhold information that could end their kingdom's suffering? The mystery fueled the tension in the air, along with the hope embedded in the advice Zayn was about to reveal.

"That's not possible, Zayn. The king loves his people so much, he will do anything," Diego said firmly, his eyes filled with determination. Zayn, the wise confidant, responded with a chuckle, as he tossed his hair back as if removing a heavy burden from his head.

"Because it is very dangerous to do so. That is the real reason, Prince," Zayn explained in a solemn voice as if foreseeing some great danger. But Diego, in his inherent leadership spirit, didn't seem to care about the word danger; for him, the most important thing was to save his people and make them prosperous again.

Although Diego understood the potential dangers, his desire to end the suffering of his people headed his every thought. With burning eyes, he asserted, "I don't care about the dangers I will face, the most important thing is that all the people can return to prosperity." Diego's skill at putting aside his self-interest for the good of the masses creates a mesmerizing aura of leadership, extending an appeal that is hard to ignore. More than just a political decision, this was the calling of a prince who dared to stand at the forefront for the common good.

Zayn began the story, by revealing his plans to Diego, while honestly describing the risks they would face. "I hope your decision to participate in this plan is unanimous. There will be no regrets later because lives are at stake," Zayn said, his voice sounding serious and deliberate. Diego nodded firmly, showing his unwavering determination. Wasting no time, the two embarked on a journey that very night, carrying out their mission quietly, as if they were involved in a secret action drama.

Back to the present.

Diego threw everything he had into the fight, but none of his attacks managed to hit his opponent. Zayn looked so relaxed that he had yet to return fire. "Why are your attacks so slow, Prince Diego? Perhaps, your strength is disappearing," Zayn taunted with a mysterious, seductive smile.

Diego, despite being pushed back in the fight, looked at Zayn with a puzzled look. "What happened?" muttered Diego, trying to find answers amidst the chaos of the battle. He felt Zayn's strength had greatly increased from the last time they fought. A tense and mysterious atmosphere surrounded Sandra's apartment, which looked chaotic, due to the battle of past grudges.

"How long are you going to keep dodging without a fight? Come face me!" Diego yelled, annoyed that Zayn wasn't serious about their fight. It was just messing around.

"Sorry, if I can't take this fight seriously yet. Because with your current abilities, it will be very easy to defeat."

"How dare you. underestimate the power!" Diego. was getting ready to take out his werewolf form, but stopped when Zayn said something about Sandra.

"Stop it! This whole thing is a waste of my time. I have no interest in fighting you, Prince Diego. I only came to welcome back my woman who was in that room, by giving her a little surprise." Zayn pointed towards the room where Sandra was hiding,

"Why is Zayn interested in Sandra?" thought Diego, increasingly curious about the expression on Zayn's face. But before the question was answered Zayn had already disappeared like smoke in the wind, very fast.

"Don't go! We're not done yet!" Diego shouted to the fleeing Zayn. Diego became disturbed after finding out that Zayn was after Sandra. What exactly is the man's plan for Sandra? Is it possible that Zayn has been saved by someone, and made him stronger than before?

Meanwhile, in the room, Sandra continued to pray that Diego could drive away all the disturbances out there. Finally, the door opened and she saw Diego's face. "You can come out," said Diego.

"Did you defeat the creatures?" asked Sandra.

"They're gone."

Sandra could breathe a sigh of relief while thanking Diego for repeatedly saving her. "But you still have another problem, Sandra."

Sandra frowned thinking about what Diego meant. "What do you mean?"

"A creature called the Police came to your house." Sandra rushed out of the room to meet the law enforcement. However, she found five policemen lying in the living room unconscious.

"Oh my God! What happened to them? Did that thing do it?" Sandra squealed in shock and fear.

However, Diego unexpectedly said, "They were being rude to me, so I taught them a little lesson. I just didn't know that they were too weak to be knocked unconscious with just one blow."

"Diego, you've made a big problem for me!" she muttered irritably while patting Diego roughly on the shoulder who preferred to eat, which had been interrupted.
