Feed
Astrid POV
I’m not saying she deserved it…
—but she definitely walked straight into it.
Still, thank God Odin stopped Archie when he did, because the last thing we needed was a full-on feeding scene in the middle of a luxury club. Imagine explaining that to security.
Archie turned back to us like nothing had happened—like he hadn’t just almost traumatized a human for life.
Bright smile.
Perfect composure.
Honestly? Scary.
“So,” he said casually, brushing imaginary dust off his sleeve. “Where were we?”
Hera deadpanned from her seat, lifting her glass slightly.
“You were about to commit a felony.”
Archie waved that off.
“No, no. Before that.it’s not like you weren’t gonna join me feed from her, you starving vampire”
“Damn, you’re crazy. You wanted us to dance,” she replied.
His face lit up immediately.
“Yes!”
He snapped his fingers and grabbed Odin’s wrist before the poor man could even process it.
“Come on,” Archie said, already dragging him up. “We didn’t come here to sit and people-watch like retired grandparents.”
Odin sighed deeply.
“I was enjoying my peace.”
“You can enjoy it later babe,” Archie shot back. “Dance first, suffer later.”
A smirk tugged at my lips.
Jason stepped forward, placing a hand over his chest dramatically.
“My lady…” he started.
“My queen,” Killian cut in smoothly, stepping beside him.
I raised a brow.
“Oh? Both of you competing now?”
“Always,” Jason said.
“For your attention?” Killian added.
I rolled my eyes but smiled anyway, slipping my hands into both of theirs, my mates..
“Then keep up.”
We moved toward the dance floor, the music growing louder, heavier, pulling us in.
Behind us, Damon didn’t even wait—he grabbed Elsie’s hand and spun her lightly as they walked.
She laughed, trying to keep up.
“Damon—!”
“No escape,” he grinned.
Typical.
Hera, on the other hand?
Still seated.
Still drinking.
Like she had no intention of moving.
Riven noticed.
Of course he did.
Before she could take another shot, he caught her wrist mid-air.
She blinked at him.
“…really?”
“Oh please,” he said, already pulling her up. “You were the one hyping this night. Now you want to sit here and drink yourself into a coma?”
Hera pouted slightly.
“Just a few more shots—”
“No.”
“Riven—”
“No.”
She hit him with the softest, most dramatic puppy eyes I had ever seen.
“…please?”
He stared at her.
Unmoved.
Then dragged her anyway.
“Wow,” she muttered as she stumbled after him. “This is oppression.”
“You’ll survive.”
“I might not.”
“You will.”
“Rude.”
And just like that,
We were all on the dance floor.
Dove and Zora joined, and before I could talk about who was gonna dance with Sable, this pretty stranger, tall, nice physique walked to her. No one needed explana for what they’re discussing there, they moved to the floor too.
The lights hit differently here—flashing, shifting, painting everything in gold, blue, red. The music wrapped around us, loud and alive, vibrating through the ground, through our bodies.
And then—
We danced.
Not coordinated.
Not planned.
Just… free.
Jason spun me first, smooth and controlled, like everything he did had intention behind it. I laughed as he pulled me closer, the music syncing with the movement.
Killian didn’t wait long.
He cut in effortlessly, pulling me from Jason with a smirk.
“My turn.”
“You’re both annoying,” I said, but I didn’t resist.
“You love it,” he replied.
“Debatable.”
He laughed, hands firm at my waist as we moved with the beat—closer, faster, the energy between us electric.
Nearby—
Damon and Elsie were in their own world.
He kept spinning her.
Lifting her slightly.
Pulling her back in.
And every time she laughed, it got louder.
“Put me down!” she giggled.
“Never.”
“Damon—!”
“Too late.”
She gave up eventually, just moving with him, smiling like she didn’t even care anymore.
Zora and Dove?
Dangerous.
That was the only word.
They moved like they knew exactly who was watching—and didn’t care.
Zora pulled Dove closer, whispering something that made Dove laugh before they moved in sync again, smooth, confident, completely unbothered.
I caught a guy staring too long.
Zora noticed too.
She held his gaze for a second—
Then turned away like he didn’t exist.
Brutal.
Archie and Odin?
Chaos.
Absolute chaos.
Archie was dancing like he was performing for a crowd that didn’t exist, pulling Odin along with him.
“Archie,” Odin said, clearly suffering, “this is unnecessary.”
“Nothing about tonight is necessary,” Archie replied. “That’s the point!”
Odin sighed—but I caught it.
The small smile.
He was enjoying it.
A little.
Riven and Hera—
Now that?
That was interesting.
Hera started off annoyed, clearly dragged into it against her will.
But slowly—
She loosened up.
Moved with the rhythm.
Smirked slightly.
Riven noticed immediately.
“There it is,” he said.
“Don’t start,” she warned.
“You’re enjoying it.”
“I’m tolerating it.”
“Same thing.”
She rolled her eyes but didn’t stop dancing.
Sable?
Effortless.
She moved with the pretty guy, I know I shouldn’t use that word for a guy but please, he is pretty. Sable moved like she didn’t even need to try, the music just… fitting her.
At some point, she caught my eye and raised her glass slightly from the edge of the floor.
I smiled back.
Everything felt—
Light.
Loud.
Alive.
Laughter mixing with music.
Teasing.
Movement.
For once—
No danger.
No tension.
Just us.
And the night.
Killian POV
The night was doing what nights like this were supposed to do—
Loud music.
Bodies moving.
Laughter spilling into everything.
Damon and Elsie chose to be naughty even out here, if its not these hungry kisses, they are rocking each other, Damon slapping her ass, Elsie rubbing his face between her chest. Later on, he had Elsie halfway off the ground again, spinning her like she weighed nothing while she laughed and tried to pretend she wasn’t enjoying it.
Jason had loosened up, barely, but enough to not look like he was suffering anymore.
Archie?
Still doing the absolute most.
And Astrid—
Yeah.
I didn’t take my eyes off her for long.
Everything felt… right.
Until it didn’t.
I turned my head slightly—
And that’s when I saw them.
Not dancing.
Not drinking.
Just… standing.
A group of men in black suits, gathered off to the side like they didn’t belong to the chaos of the club. Heads close, voices low, movements controlled.
Different.
Too different.
“What is it?” Astrid asked, noticing the shift in my expression.
I nodded slightly toward them.
“Look.”
She followed my gaze.
Brows knitting slightly.
“What about them?” she asked.
I tilted my head.
“They don’t seem… off to you?”
She scoffed lightly.
“They could be security.”
“Or not,” Jason added from behind us.
Astrid sighed, already swaying back into the music like she refused to let the vibe die.
“So what do you want to do?” she asked.
I didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, I turned—
Locked eyes with Archie.
It took him less than two seconds to notice.
“What?” he mouthed.
I jerked my head toward the men.
“We’ve been here long enough,” I said as he stepped closer. “Those guys? Something’s going on.”
He frowned.
“What do you mean?”
“You should’ve seen how they were handling money.”
He blinked.
“…like drug lords?”
I groaned.
“No, idiot.”
He smirked.
“Then what?”
I leaned in slightly.
“Use your hearing. Mr. Vampire” I rolled my eyes.
That got his attention.
A slow grin spread across his face as he turned his focus toward them, eyes narrowing just a fraction.
A few seconds passed.
Then—
There it was.
That smile.
The one that meant trouble.
He turned back to us, already calling everyone in.
“What did you hear?” Hera asked immediately, crossing her arms.
Archie leaned in slightly.
“Looks like we’ve got a fight to watch.”
Damon let out a low laugh.
“The underground fight we talked about earlier?” he said. “Already found one?”
Archie nodded.
“Yep.”
Astrid’s lips curved.
“Then we just need a way in.”
And before anyone could stop her—
She moved.
Straight toward them.
“Astrid—” Jason started.
Too late.
I exhaled slowly and followed.
Of course she would do this.
Jason came with me.
We stopped just behind her as she stepped into their circle like she belonged there.
“Hello, gentlemen,” she said smoothly, her voice cutting through their conversation like silk.
They paused.
Turned.
Eyes on her.
All of them.
One of them frowned slightly.
“…And who are you? what are you trying to say?”
Astrid laughed softly.
Light.
Effortless.
“Come on,” she said, tilting her head. “You don’t have to pretend. I know about the fight.”
A brief silence.
Another man scoffed.
“What fight?”
Behind her, Jason leaned slightly toward me.
“…was Archie bluffing?”
I didn’t answer.
Astrid didn’t miss a beat.
She stepped closer.
Lowered her voice just enough.
“You don’t have to hide it,” she said, leaning in slightly. “I heard you. Fighters are ready, right?”
A pause.
Then—
“Name your price,” she added, straightening. “Me and my friends want to watch.”
One of them let out a short laugh.
“And how exactly did you hear that?”
Before Astrid could answer—
I stepped in.
“She didn’t,” I said smoothly. “I did.”
Their attention shifted to me.
Measured.
Suspicious.
Another one narrowed his eyes.
“You two aren’t cops, are you?”
Astrid chuckled.
“Do I look like one?”
They looked at her.
Really looked.
And I swear—
If they stared one second longer—
I was going to start breaking something. Their bones of course.
I clenched my jaw slightly.
One of them finally nodded.
“…alright.”
He glanced behind her.
“Where are these friends of yours?”
Astrid turned and pointed.
They followed her gesture.
Saw the rest of our group.
Another one of the men smirked slightly.
“You’ve got pretty girls.”
Astrid let out a fake laugh.
“Focus.”
She waved them over.
The group approached.
Sable peeled away from some random guy she’d been dancing with, giving him a quick smile before walking back like nothing mattered more than this.
The man nodded once.
“Alright. You’ll need tickets.”
Hera shrugged.
“That’s fine.”
“Cash only.”
“Even better.”
We followed them.
Through the club.
Past a section most people didn’t even notice.
Down a hallway.
Dimly lit.
Guarded.
Then,
A door.
Heavy.
Closed.
One of them knocked twice.
A pause.
Then it opened.
Inside—
Different world.
Still luxurious.
But darker.
More controlled.
The crowd wasn’t wild—it was focused.
Eyes locked on the center.
Where the ring sat.
Not a messy cage.
Not chaos.
Clean.
Elevated.
VIP seating arranged around it like this was a private show for people who paid to see blood without getting their shoes dirty.
“Damn,” Damon muttered.
I nodded slightly.
Yeah.
This wasn’t your average underground fight.
We stepped up to the front.
“Seating?” one of the men asked.
“VIP. VVIP. Or general.”
Archie scoffed immediately.
“Do I look like I came here to sit at the back?”
The man raised a brow.
“VVIP then.”
He named the price.
In dollars.
High.
Very high.
Archie didn’t even blink.
He pulled out his card and handed it over.
“Make it quick.”
The man processed it.
“You’d always see Archie ready to spend his money.” Zora muttered with a small laugh, where was the lie?
The payment went through, approved.
Then nodded.
“Follow me.”
We were led up—
Closer.
Best view.
Right near the ring.
Perfect angle.
Perfect distance.
As we settled in, a group of women approached—dressed sharp, confident, carrying bottles of expensive wine like they were part of the show.
Glasses poured.
Drinks handed out.
The lights dimmed slightly.
The crowd shifted.
Energy building.
I leaned back slightly, glass in hand, eyes on the ring.
Then glanced sideways at Astrid.
A small smirk tugged at my lips.
“Well,” I said quietly, “this just got interesting.”
I leaned back slightly in my seat, letting my gaze drift across the room, taking everything in, every detail, every movement
Then my eyes slid to the other VVIP section.
A group of older men.
Dressed sharp.
Watching.
Not the fight.
Us.
I exhaled slowly.
Of course.
“I know exactly what’s going through their heads,” Dove muttered, clicking her tongue as she took a slow sip of her wine.
Zora leaned closer, curious.
“Oh yeah? Enlighten us.”
Dove didn’t even hesitate.
“‘Where did a bunch of teenagers get this kind of money to sit VVIP at an underground fight?’”
Hera snorted.
“And—” she added, lifting her glass, “—‘who the hell do they think they are?’”
Both of them spoke at the same time.
“Exactly.”
They clinked their glasses lightly.
“Yup,” Hera finished with a satisfied nod.
Archie didn’t even bother looking over.
“That sounds like a whole lot of their problem,” he said lazily, already too comfortable in his seat.
He leaned into Odin like he owned the space, one arm draped over him while Odin absentmindedly rubbed slow circles on his lap—calm, grounding, intimate.
Jason huffed lightly beside me.
“You do realize this is about to get… messy, right?” he said.
Astrid pressed her lips together slightly.
“Yeah… messy is putting it nicely.”
I tilted my head, glancing at the vampires among us.
“I hope you all can behave,” I said, voice low but pointed. “There’s going to be a lot of blood.”
Astrid shifted beside me.
Her fingers tightened slightly around her glass.
“Well… I hope I can,” she admitted.
Archie scoffed.
“Please. That’s easy,” he said. “Speaking for all of us—we’ve got control.”
“Speak for yourself,” Hera shot back immediately. “I’ve been starving.”
I let out a quiet breath.
Yeah.
That was exactly what I was worried about.
Before anyone could say anything else—
The lights shifted.
Dimmed.
A low murmur rippled through the crowd.
Then—
The ring lit up.
Two men stepped in.
Shirts already off.
Bodies marked.
Bruised.
Built.
The kind of men who didn’t come here to play.
The crowd leaned forward, loud cheers.
The air changed.
Tightened.
Electric.
A bell rang.
And just like that—
They moved.
Fast.
One lunged first, clean, brutal strike straight to the jaw.
The crack echoed.
The other staggered,
Then came back harder.
Fist.
Elbow.
Knee.
No hesitation.
No rules.
Just violence.
The sound of impact was sickening.
Flesh meeting flesh.
Bone threatening to give.
Blood—
It didn’t take long.
A split lip.
Then a nose.
Then—
More.
It started dripping.
Then pouring.
The crowd loved it.
Cheers.
Shouts.
Money being thrown.
I didn’t cheer.
I didn’t react.
I was watching something else.
I glanced sideways.
Astrid.
Her grip on the glass had tightened.
Too tight.
She lifted it again—drank.
Fast.
Like she was trying to drown something.
Jason leaned closer to me slightly.
“Keep an eye on them,” he muttered.
“I am.”
Across from us—
Archie hadn’t moved.
But I could see it.
In the way his jaw clenched.
The way his fingers flexed against Odin’s leg.
Odin noticed too.
His hand moved from Archie’s lap to his arm.
Firm.
Grounding.
Steady.
Elsie sat beside Damon, unusually quiet.
Her fingers brushing lightly against her throat.
Like something irritated her.
Hera?
Silent.
Too silent.
Riven’s eyes were already on her.
Watching.
Tracking.
The fight got worse.
One of the men slammed the other to the ground—
Hard.
A sickening crack followed.
But he didn’t stop.
Punch.
Punch.
Punch.
Blood splattered.
The crowd roared louder.
“Yes, I bet my fucking money on that blonde dude!” one of those older men yelled.
And that’s when Odin groaned.
Low.
Uncomfortable.
“…their heartbeats,” he muttered. “It’s loud. Too loud.”
Jason’s gaze snapped to Astrid.
“Your pupils are dilating.”
She exhaled sharply.
“I’m fine.”
She wasn’t.
She grabbed another drink.
Finished it.
Fast.
Elsie swallowed hard.
“My throat… burns,” she murmured. “It’s so dry.”
Riven leaned toward Hera slightly.
“She’s shaking,” he said quietly.
I looked.
He was right.
Subtle.
But there.
Her hands.
A tremor.
Riven glanced at us.
“Maybe we should leave.”
“No.”
Archie’s voice cut through.
Firm.
Focused.
“I’m not leaving.”
I turned to him.
“You’re already losing it.”
“I’m fine.”
“You’re not.”
Jason stepped in.
“We should go.”
Archie shook his head.
“Just a little longer. My money ain’t gonna waste man.”
I stared at him.
Then leaned closer.
“Your fangs are out.”
That did it.
His hand flew to his mouth immediately.
Eyes widening slightly as he covered it.
“Shit—”
Jason exhaled sharply.
“That’s it. We’re leaving.”
“Wait—”
Before he could finish—
A chair scraped sharply against the floor.
We all turned.
Hera was already on her feet.
“Fuck this.”
Her voice was low.
Rough.
Gone.
“Hera—” I snapped, standing up immediately.
But she was already moving.
Fast.
Too fast.
“Hera!”
My voice cut through the noise.
“I’m hungry!” she yelled back
