Chapter 134: Nightclub
Astrid POV
We pulled up—and yeah… whoever picked this place?
They had taste.
Massive glass building. Black exterior so sleek it almost swallowed the light around it. Gold accents cutting through it like it knew it was expensive.
And right there, glowing across the front like it owned the night—
VANTABLACK.
I let out a low whistle as I stepped out of the car, heels clicking against the ground.
“Even the name screams luxury,” Killian said beside me, stepping out and shutting the door with that effortless confidence he carried like second skin.
“I know, right?” I smirked, tossing my keys lightly before locking the car.
Behind us, engines rolled in one after the other, our people arriving like we were about to take over the place.
Killian glanced at the building again, then back at me.
“Who found this?”
I shrugged casually.
“Ask your friends.”
He squinted at me like he didn’t believe that for a second.
Then—
SCREEEECH.
A loud drift cut through the air.
Both of us turned instantly.
Archie’s car.
Sliding in like it was auditioning for a movie.
We blinked.
“…did Dove just drift in here?” Killian asked slowly.
“We definitely saw that… yeah…”
The car stopped.
Door flew open.
Archie stepped out—
And immediately slammed the door shut.
Then froze.
Slowly turned back to the car.
“Oh baby,” he whispered, placing both hands on the hood. “Daddy is so sorry.”
I stared.
Killian leaned closer to me.
“What exactly went on in that car?” he muttered.
I was about to answer when—
“You wanna know what went down?”
Archie.
Of course he heard us. Vampire type shit.
I turned slightly.
“Yeah.”
Right on cue, Dove stepped out of the car like she hadn’t just nearly ended someone’s life—smiling like everything was perfectly normal.
“Your friend,” Archie said dramatically, pointing at her, “tried to kill me on our way here.”
Dove laughed.
“Oh please, you wouldn’t die.”
She tapped the car hood lightly.
“And your car is in perfect shape, yeah?”
She tossed the keys at him.
“I know you’re not letting me drive back.”
Archie caught them and groaned.
“Oh, I am absolutely not. Never again.”
Dove ignored him and strutted toward me.
I leaned in slightly.
“What happened?”
She waved it off.
“Girl, nothing serious. Just Archie being dramatic.”
From behind—
“Dramatic?!” Archie snapped. “You almost BURST my eardrums with that music!”
I mouthed an oh.
Dove rolled her eyes.
“It was just Swim playing! It wasn’t even that loud.”
I laughed under my breath.
Sure.
Not loud.
Right.
Before I could reply—
Another car pulled up.
Jason’s.
Except—
His head was sticking out of the window.
Not his body.
Just his head.
“…please don’t be dramatic,” Zora’s voice came from inside. “You’re making a scene.”
“I’m already in a scene!” Jason snapped.
Zora stepped out casually like nothing was wrong.
“Okay, what’s happening?” Dove asked, looking between everyone.
Killian folded his arms.
“What happened to my brother?”
Zora paused mid-step, glanced back at Jason, then shrugged.
“Nothing serious. He’ll be fine.”
She grabbed Dove’s hand like that settled everything.
“We should go in, yeah?” she added, then leaned closer to Dove. “Also… that bouncer? Kinda hot.”
Dove grinned.
“Babes, you’re much hotter.”
And just like that—
They kissed.
Right there.
In front of all of us.
I blinked.
Jason’s head was still hanging out of the window.
“Can you get a room at least?” he called out.
“And can you get OUT of the car?” Killian shot back.
Jason groaned.
“Give me a second.”
Zora shrugged.
“He didn’t like my music taste.”
Killian blinked.
“…oh.”
At this point, I started connecting the dots.
Archie traumatized.
Jason… halfway out of existence.
I turned slowly.
So these guys are having one thing or the other to talk about the girl’s driving them here?
Then—
Odin’s car pulled in.
Smooth.
Calm.
No drifting.
No screaming.
No chaos.
He stepped out—
Smiling.
Sable stepped out too—
Also smiling.
Laughing, actually.
I blinked again.
“…or am I wrong?” I muttered.
Killian frowned slightly.
“You guys good?” he called out.
Odin nodded immediately.
“Yeah,” he said. “She was a vibe the entire ride.”
Sable smirked.
Archie walked over, mouth wide open.
“A vibe??” he repeated. “A vibe??”
Jason finally got out of the car and dragged himself over.
“My ride,” he said flatly, “felt like one of those horror tunnels in amusement parks. Except I couldn’t get off.”
Zora gasped.
“Drama king.”
“I saw my life flash before my eyes.”
“You’re alive.”
“Barely.”
I was trying not to laugh.
I really was.
Then—
Riven’s car pulled in.
Stopped.
Door opened.
He stepped out—
Spinning.
Actually spinning.
“…you good?” I asked slowly.
Hera stepped out behind him, laughing awkwardly.
“He’ll be fine.”
Riven straightened, blinking rapidly.
“I better be,” he muttered. Then pointed at her. “You should see her driving skills—like she’s in one of those Fast and Furious movies.”
Hera smirked, stepping closer.
“Relax,” she said, tapping his shoulder before leaning in and whispering near his ear, “I’ll do better next time.”
Riven froze.
Stood up straight.
“…next time?” he repeated.
Then shook his head immediately.
“Oh, there is NO next time, lady.”
Hera rolled her eyes.
“Your loss.”
By now, I was fully entertained.
Then—
Damon and Elsie.
Their car pulled in gently.
No drama.
No chaos.
Just smooth.
They stepped out—
And before Elsie could even say anything—
Damon was already on her.
Kissing her shoulder.
Her arm.
Her cheek.
“God, you look beautiful,” he said.
Again.
And again.
And again.
The rest of us made a collective—
“Arghhhhhh!” squeezing our face at them.
Elsie laughed, trying to push him back slightly.
“Babe,” she said, smiling. “You’ve said that like… sixty times already.”
“And I’ll say it sixty more.”
“Oh my God.”
“Seventy.”
“Damon—”
“Eighty—”
“STOP.”
We burst out laughing.
Finally—
We all gathered together in front of the building.
Archie clapped his hands once.
“Anyways,” he said dramatically, “let’s go enjoy the night before someone else traumatizes me.”
“Too late,” Jason muttered.
“Shut up.”
A few chuckles.
A few teasing nudges.
Then—
“Let’s go!” Dove said.
We all cheered lightly.
And just like that—
We headed for the entrance.
Killian POV
The moment we stepped in—
Yeah.
This place didn’t just scream luxury.
It owned it.
Lights low, but intentional. Gold, black, and deep violet bleeding into each other like the entire place was designed to mess with your head in the best way possible. The bass from the music pulsed through the floor—steady, heavy—like a second heartbeat.
To the left—
The bar.
Long. Polished. Bottles stacked like trophies behind it, glowing under soft lights.
To the right—
The dance floor.
Packed.
Bodies moving, lights flashing, music loud enough to drown out everything except instinct.
And everywhere—
Eyes.
On us.
I noticed it immediately.
Girls staring.
Guys staring.
Some whispering.
Some not even trying to be subtle.
I glanced sideways at Astrid.
“Do you see the way they’re staring?” she muttered under her breath.
I smirked slightly.
“Yeah. I just don’t know if it’s the girls staring at the girls… or the guys staring at the girls.”
Hera snorted.
“Either way, if someone stares at me too long, I might just feed on them.”
Astrid shot her a look.
“Oh please don’t.”
Hera laughed, raising her hands.
“Relax. I’ll behave. But honestly, I’m starving”
“Define behave,” Jason muttered.
“Less biting, don’t worry I wouldn’t feed.” she replied.
“That’s not reassuring.”
We moved further in, claiming a section near the bar, somewhere we could see everything without being swallowed by the crowd.
Archie leaned against the counter, scanning the place like he owned it.
“Why didn’t Nyx come again?” he asked.
Astrid took a sip from the drink the bartender had just slid her.
“She and her boyfriend left for a small vacation,” she replied. “Out of the city.”
“Must be nice,” Dove muttered.
“Very,” Zora added.
“Less chaos,” Odin said.
“Speak for yourself,” Damon replied.
Drinks came fast.
Expensive.
Strong.
The kind that burned just enough to remind you it wasn’t water.
We talked.
Laughed.
Let the noise of the club settle into something normal.
For a moment—
It actually felt like we were just… students again.
Then Archie clapped his hands once.
“Alright,” he said, already stepping back. “Are we dancing or are we just going to sit here and sip like retired billionaires?”
Odin sighed.
“Here we go.”
Archie was already heading toward the dance floor.
I chuckled under my breath, about to follow—
When movement caught my eye.
A girl.
Random.
Confident.
Walking straight toward Odin.
Before anyone could say anything—
She was already there.
Hand on his chest.
Slow.
Deliberate.
Leaning in like she’d already decided how the night was going to go.
Odin blinked.
“…uh… lady…”
The rest of us exchanged looks.
Then—
We laughed.
Low.
Quiet.
Because of course.
Archie, halfway to the dance floor, paused.
Turned.
Saw it.
Astrid leaned slightly toward me, a smirk playing on her lips.
“Let’s see what the jealous boyfriend is going to do.”
I folded my arms, already watching.
Oh, this was about to be good.
Archie walked back.
Slow.
Calm.
Too calm.
He stepped in beside them.
“Hey,” he said, polite. “You might want to move along.”
Odin said nothing.
Just leaned back slightly, watching.
The girl laughed.
Actually laughed.
“What are you to him?” she asked, tilting her head. “His Mommy? Daddy?”
A few people nearby chuckled.
Wrong move.
She reached up—like she was about to touch Odin’s hair—
And that’s when Archie moved.
Fast.
He caught her wrist mid-air.
Not aggressive.
Not loud.
Just… controlled.
Then he stepped closer.
Close enough that she had to tilt her head up to meet his gaze.
The smile on his face?
Gone.
Completely.
“Do you want me,” he said quietly, voice low and steady, “to drink every ounce of blood from your body?”
The girl blinked.
Then scoffed.
Laughed again.
“What are you? Some vampire lord?” she said mockingly. “Honey, those things don’t ex—”
She stopped.
Because no one else was laughing.
Not me.
Not Jason.
Not any of us.
And for the first time—
She noticed.
Really noticed.
The shift.
The stillness.
The way the air around us had gone just a little too quiet.
Her smile faltered.
Archie didn’t.
He didn’t say anything else.
Just—
Opened his mouth slightly.
Enough.
Fangs slowly elongated.
Sharp.
Unmistakable.
Her eyes widened.
All the color drained from her face.
And before she could even react—
Archie leaned in.
Close to her neck.
Close enough to make it real.
That’s when Odin moved.
A hand on Archie’s shoulder.
“Not here,” he said calmly.
“No, not even outside.” Elsie added.
Archie paused.
Then slowly leaned back.
His gaze never left hers.
She was frozen.
Completely.
Like her body had forgotten how to function.
Archie straightened slightly.
Then looked into her eyes.
And just like that—
It changed.
His voice softened.
Controlled.
Commanding.
“You’re going to forget everything that just happened,” he said quietly.
Her expression went blank.
“You didn’t see anything. You didn’t hear anything.”
She nodded slowly.
Obedient.
“And you’re going to walk away,” he added, voice dropping slightly again, “and never come near him again.”
A pause.
Then—
“Because he’s mine.”
She nodded again.
Turned.
And walked away.
Just like that.
Gone.
Silence hung for half a second.
Then—
I exhaled.
“Seriously?” I said, looking at Archie. “Out here? You had to compel her?”
Astrid waved a hand dismissively.
“Oh, come on. No one saw that. Besides, its part of every vampire ability, so let’s flaunt it”
I glanced around.
People were dancing.
Drinking.
Lost in their own worlds.
Yeah.
Maybe she was right.
Still,
I shook my head slightly, a smirk tugging at my lips.
“Next time,” I muttered, “try not to start a supernatural incident in the middle of a nightclub.”
Archie smirked.
“Tell that to her.”
Odin just sighed.
And just like that,
The night kept going.
