Chapter 19 Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Taking Revenge 2
~ Lykon
I stormed through the enemy's territory like a beast out of hell. My mind was blank, but my heart burned with rage. The wolves I passed looked at me with wide, scared eyes. None of them dared to stop me. My body was stiff, my muscles tight, my hands balled into fists so hard my nails dug into my skin. I could barely feel the sting. I only saw red.
“Where is your Alpha? Or Daxton?” i couldn't help the growl that left my lips.
The frightened omega in front of me dropped her apples in fear, but that was not what i was here for. I wasn't here for sympathy or to be nice. i was going to take everyone down today.
“Where?!” I yell, making the omega fall to the ground in fright. She started to whimper.
“Please don't hurt me?!” She begged, rubbing her palms together.
Goddammit it! It took me all i had not to drive my fists into this omega's gut.
This place was huge. Word hasn't gone out yet that I had come here, so I wanted to take them by surprise. I didn't have time to walk around to find them myself.
I sigh, my fists clenching, “I'll think about it,” I growl, “If you don't waste my time and tell me where they are.”
She pointed down the path at a big building I hadn't gotten the chance to see because of anger. I didn't wait for any more thing. I stormed towards there.
When I reached the pack’s hall, the doors were wide open. Laughter spilled out like poison. My jaw tightened. There they were. Sitting around a long table, drinking and feasting like kings. Celebrating.
Celebrating putting Ignas down. They were celebrating now. Soon, they'll be in agony and have nothing to celebrate.
The Alpha sat at the head, raising his glass, saying something I couldn't hear and the others cheered and howled, raising their glasses. My whole body trembled with anger. One of the wolves spotted me standing there, still and silent. His face dropped, and the room went quiet.
The Alpha turned his head, a smile still on his lips. "Well, well," he said, standing up slowly. "The mighty Lykon. What do you want?"
My voice came out cold and sharp. "I want Daxon. And all your heads."
For a second, no one said a word. Then the whole room burst into loud, mocking laughter. The Alpha stepped down from the table and walked closer to me, shaking his head.
"You were once a great Alpha," he said. "And now look at you. Reduced to nothing but a lapdog. Running errands for a weak woman Alpha. You should be ashamed."
The mocking hit me like knives. My wolf was clawing at me from the inside, begging to be let out so he could deal with them himself. I didn’t let him. I felt my vision blur, my teeth gritting so hard I thought they’d crack.
And then I saw him. One eye. Bald head. Chunky full arms.
Daxon.
Got you, fucker.
The bastard was sitting at the end of the table, smirking like the world was his. My whole body moved on its own. My wolf ripped through me without my permission, my bones cracking, my fingers turning to claws, my fur bursting out, and before anyone could blink, I charged right at him.
Daxon’s smirk vanished, but it was too late. I had reached him and without wasting time, my jaws snapped around his throat, and I bit down hard. The taste of his blood filled my mouth.
The taste of victory.
His screams were sharp, but they only pushed me deeper into madness. I ripped his throat out, tearing his flesh from his bone, and tossed it to the ground.
He couldn't make any more sounds. I tossed his remains to the ground.
The others finally moved, roaring and shifting into their wolves. They lunged at me all at once. I didn’t stay to fight. I wasn’t here for them. I wasn’t going to waste my time on lowlifes like them. I had come for revenge, and revenge in hundred folds they'll get.
Before coming here, I had already scattered something around the pack’s borders. A little gift. Now it was time to leave and deliver the gift to them.
I bolted for the exit, my movemts fast and light, they were right in my trail but i shifted at them, dodging the snapping of their teeth and claws. The Alpha shifted and chased after me, his growls shaking the ground. He was close, but I was faster. Just before he reached me, I turned around and slashed at him, my claws cutting deep into his ribs.
He stumbled, falling to the ground, stuck and unable to move. His body twitched, but he couldn’t get back up.
The Alpha who had orchestrated the attack in the first place. He also was going to pay. With death.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out the small candle I had lit before the fight started. With one soft blow, I snuffed the flame out.
The ground rumbled as fire burst out from the borders. Houses lit up like matchsticks, trees cracked and broke, flames reaching the skies. The screams of the pack filled the air. The scent of burning fur and wood swirled around me.
I stood there, staring at the destruction. A slow, dark smile stretched across my face. Satisfaction bloomed in my chest. They deserved every second of it.
But then something strange happened.
A strong wave of déjà vu hit me. Like I had done this before. Many times. The same fire. The same screams. The same feeling.
I shook my head, trying to clear the fog. When I turned to face the flames again, a memory flashed through my mind. It came so fast, so sharp, I couldn’t stop it. My head throbbed. I dropped to my knees, hands clutching my hair as the memory clawed through my brain.
A groan left my mouth, low and painful, a
nd I stayed there, kneeling on the dirt, while the world around me burned.
