"How is she?"

The pack doctors smiled at me. "Good morning your majesty, her vitals are good. We are sure that she will wake up soon."

I took a deep breath and look at Ashley, she look better now. I notice her rosy cheeks returned their color, she is also breathing normally. It is a good day, I am certain that my Luna will wake up soon.

"Thank you for the hard work, you can all get some rest today."

"You're welcome, your majesty."

They bow to me once more before leaving our bedroom. I move towards the window and open the curtains wide. To let the rays of sunlight get inside is good for Ashley.

"Good morning your majesty, would you like me to bring you a cup of coffee?"

Riza stood at the door of our bedroom asking me with a smile on her face. "Morning Riza, yes please."

I heard her footstep descend while I lowered myself on the couch near the bed. My eyes did not leave Ashley, I can feel that she will wake up soon. 

A few minutes later then Riza came into the room and place the cup of coffee on the bedside table near me.

"Your coffee, majesty."

I nodded my head. "Thank you Riza, kindly close the door behind you."

She bows and walks towards the door closing it behind her.

My eyes returned to Ashley before I grab the cup of coffee and took a sip of the hot liquid. I waited for a couple of seconds and then put back the cup on the bedside table.

"Hmmm."

Her moan alerted me. "Sweetheart? Are you awake?"

I immediately hold her hand and watch her. Her lips are moving, I squeeze her hand and place them on my lips.

"Please wake up now my love, I need you beside me. I know you can make it."

I sat beside her while holding her hand tightly anticipating, then I close my eyes hoping that she will open hers. I waited even when minutes have already passed.

"Hmmm. Your back?"

Her voice sounds like music to my ears when I opened my eyes and saw her looking at me with joy. "You're awake! Oh thanks, Moon Goddess you are finally awake."

I grab her and pressed her body against me. Feeling her warmth, she is alright and there's nothing else I would want to do but hold her tight.

"What happened to me? For how long was I out?"

Her questions made the smile on my face vanish. "The visitors who came in with your mother did something with the food you eat. The poison mixed with silver affected your body, and you were out for three days now."

The surprise in her eyes registered before her next question. "Where is my mother?"

"She is fine sweetheart, she was so worried about you. But now that you are alright we can tell her not to worry. I will send someone to inform her that you are awake, she's still here in the Palace."

I kiss her on the cheeks and inhale her scent, I miss her so much, and to have her in my arms now is fulfilling. She grabs my face with both her palms. 

"I'm so glad you are back, I have waited for you."

My eyes lower down on her lips and couldn't resist the urge to kiss them. So I move my head slowly and then close her lips with mine, the heat of our bodies begins to ignite when our lips meet and I let my hands feel her soft skin.

"Ashley!"

Her mother's voice echoed through the room causing our bodies to break up. We both turned our gaze to the door when their footsteps are closing in. 

"Ashley sweetie! Your awake!"

She smiled and opened her arms when her mother run forward to hug her tight. "Mom. Are you alright? What happened to your friends?"

"I am fine sweetie, don't worry about me."

Mrs. Snipes kiss her forehead and caress her hair. "I didn't know that my friends would almost cause you to lose your life, it is my fault for bringing them here. I am so sorry sweetie."

Her mother sobs while hugging her tightly. "No mom, it wasn't your fault. I'm alright now, so stop thinking about it. I was worried about you too."

I touch her mother's back. "She's right, don't worry about it, Mrs. Snipes. We have her back and she is safe so that is all that matters for now."

I watch the door when Maleficus and Beta Derek arrived. We looked at each others, I know I have asked them to acquire information from the two old women who came with Mrs. Snipes. However, we cannot discuss it here. Ashley and her mother will strongly oppose what I have in mind.

"I will leave you to your mother for now sweetheart. There is something urgent that I have to attend to."

She smiled and nodded while holding Mrs. Snipes. Maleficus and Beta Derek greeted her before they follow me outside. I need to know what happened with their interrogation of the old women.

I walk down the stairs and into the dining hall, opening the back door into the garden where there is a small table and chairs. "Let's talk here."

Beta Derek sat on the chair and then followed by Maleficus while I remain standing.

The old man geatured his hand towards the seat next to him. "Please have a seat, your majesty, we did not find out much from them."

I followed him and took a seat. "Tell me what have you found out."

It was a command, and both of them straightened their backs before they began talking.

"Your majesty, just like how we speculated. Those two old women have their husbands work for the enemies who tried to conquer the West. They were retired soldiers of the human forces. The snipers who helped take down so many wolves' life in the West."

So the enemies are connected, they tried getting their hands on Ashley when their husbands failed in the fight in the West.

"Are those women still in our prison?"

Beta Derek nodded. "Yes your majesty, we couldn't let them be with the human police until you say so."

The rule for humans who get caught by us violating the peace treaty should be handed over to the human police. But I can't just let them leave, they have caused serious trouble by putting the life of my queen in danger.

"They will rot in our jail! I can't just forgive them after what they did. It's about time these humans suffer for their mistakes towards us under our rules."

Maleficus and Beta Derek look at me. I know what they are thinking.

"Your majesty, this will affect the peace treaty with the humans."

"If you are on my side Maleficus, what would you do to these prisoners?"

Maleficus took a deep breath in. "Your majesty, I understand how you feel. Maybe not now, you deserve time to think of a better decision. If you don't want to let them go, it is alright for now but it will implicate the rules with the humans. We are trying to avoid war with them as they are weak but more advance. It would result in great disaster."

The old man is serious, but I am in a state of so much anger. How dare those humans side with our enemies! Their crimes are unforgivable!

"Then give me some time but I will not say that it will make me change my decision. I am the Alpha King and the rules are already broken when they sided with the rogues! They are not following the treaty at all! I don't care what will be the cause, I am ready for war if humans will again cause harm to any of my family or anyone from the Royal pack."

I clenched my fist and slammed the table hard. "Beta Derek cleared his throat."

"I understand what you feel your majesty. We need to inform the chief of command from the humans to arrest those who are involved in the war in the West. This matter is not only involving our rogue enemies, they have joined the war too!"

I closed my eyes. Moon Goddess forgive me but I have no other wish now than to slit the throat of those humans who are involved in our fight!
