207. The strength of Luna Ashley
Alpha King Vincent

The room is now quiet, as I have instructed all of them to leave. I stay alone watching her laying on our bed, I wanted to kiss her and talk to her. Hear her voice and listen as she whispers the words I longed to hear. I needed her, but she is still weak fighting the poison in her body. My eyes close as I leaned my back on the couch which I place next to our bed.

I couldn't take it if she wouldn't wake up, the rage is fueling my fear as I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth. Now my thoughts are on the people who did this to her, the humans! Treacherous humans, I swear to the Moon Goddess if she did not improve I shall end their lives. Their family will suffer my fury and no one can stop me, I am the Alpha King, I will make them pay until the last person with a drop of the same blood in their veins.

"Beta Derek!" 

I decided to call my Beta in the mind link and ask him what is the situation in the prison. If I am to go there that old woman will not live to see tomorrow.

"Yes Alpha King Vincent, I am sorry your majesty. I was not around to welcome you when you arrived."

I can feel the regret in his voice, not because he wasn't there when I came back but something deeper. When I asked him to take care of the Luna Queen, he give me his promise. But I don't want to talk about that anymore.

"Are there any other accomplices to the crime they committed to my Queen?"

I waited a few seconds before he answered. "I am already outside the prison Alpha King, the old woman is not talking. They are tortured and pressured to the extent that their human body could endure but they won't talk."

"Damn it!"

I wonder why these old women won't talk. "Beta Derek, go to Maleficus and ask him for help. Tell him I told you to, the old man will find a way  into these women's heads."

Beta Derek let out a deep breath. "Yes, Alpha King."

"And let me know whatever information you find out."

"As you wish Alpha King Vincent."

I decide to close my eyes and sleep on the couch when the night gets deeper. Ashley is still not waking up, I hold her hand and brought them to my lips. "Sleep tight my love, I will stay beside you until the moment you open your eyes. I hope it happens soon because I missed you."

Her eyelids flutter as I held my breath and waited thinking that she will open them for me. But she never did.

I didn't know how long I have fallen asleep until I woke up and feel the heat in Ashley's hand. I look around and notice that she is sweating in her sleep. "My love, what's wrong?"

She groans and moves her head sideways. "Maleficus, I need you now please!"

I called the old man because looking at her in pain is harder than fighting my own battle. "Yes, your majesty I am on my way."

The quick response from the old man is better than I expected. "Thank you."

It only took a few seconds and he was right in front of me. "Oh, your majesty. Luna Ashley is fighting the poison, this is normal. But she's sweating a lot means we need to call the pack's female doctors to get her to change."

I shook my head. "No, it's alright Maleficus. The doctors must all be sleeping right now, I can do it. Just check on her for any possible signs of something, maybe we need to give her medicine to relieve her of the pain."

The old man nodded and check her neck and then her pulse rate. The sweat on her forehead and arms is starting to dampen her clothes. "I am going to find her something to change, please help him Maleficus."

I began to open the drawers and the closets. Slamming the doors when I did not see anything appropriate. But I could not find something.

"Your majesty!"

Maleficus grab my shoulders to keep me from breaking the closet doors. "Please calm down your majesty, she's fine. Her pulse is slightly faster than normal which is a good thing because it means she is winning the fight."

My hand froze and I look at him in the eyes. The old man is reassuring me, and when my gaze turns towards Ashley on top of our bed, she is already breathing normally. My gaze remained on her for a couple of seconds before I lowered my eyes to the floor. I couldn't meet the eyes of Maleficus or he will see how scared I am. Losing her is the scariest part of my life that I could ever think of.

"Call the pack's doctors Maleficus, I need to get cleaned up myself and clear my head before sunlight. I will be staying in the guest room to take a shower, you stay here and wait for them."

I inhaled deeply and focus on the good things that I shared with Ashley. To divert myself from the thought of losing her.

"I am calling them now your majesty please get some rest. Her majesty is doing well, please trust us and have faith that she will get over this."

I nodded and walk slowly, but before I open the bedroom door I took one last glance at her and then at the old man. "Thank you Maleficus."

The old man bows his head to me. "My pleasure your majesty."



Luna Ashley

I know the last thing I remember is having a wonderful dinner with my mother. Then I blacked out, It must be the food that I ate, or did someone do something to me?

My head hurts and so are all the parts of my body. I can feel my pulse so weak and even breathing is so difficult, I can't move my legs and also my hands. My body is so weak, I don't have any strength in me. I can hear the voices around me, people in a panic, and the doctors of the pack checking up on me. Maleficus is also around I can recognize his voice.

Then someone walks in from the door, a familiar presence. His anger and the fear of the other wolves around. My Alpha King is here, I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't move them. I missed him so much, I wanted to hug her but how can I do that when my body is not responding? Then I heard him shout, his voice sounded desperate.

Oh, my love. I wanted to touch his face and calm him down, but I couldn't feel my arms. The pain all in my heart and down to my stomach is burning. Someone's pulling me deep into a dark abyss, I could not do anything to stop it. 

"Luna Ashley, please your majesty! If you can hear my voice, follow it. Don't let yourself be in the dark, I know you are strong. Focus on the will of your heart, let your wolf heal from the poison. Only your human flesh is weak but the wolf inside of you is strong."

"Maleficus?"

I recognized the old man's voice. Where is Alpha King Vincent? Did he leave?

"Your majesty the Alpha King is waiting for you. His battle has ended in the West."

I look around me, it is still so dark. How can I do what Maleficus says? I tried moving my legs but it wouldn't follow me. He said that my wolf form is strong, that only my human flesh is weak. Maybe I could move if I shift into my wolf, he is right! Let me try and shift.

I close my eyes and concentrate harder, this is better than doing nothing. My body slowly responded to my mind. The fur began to emerge from my skin then my bones crack. My full transformation is completed in a few minutes. Then I tried to move my furry legs, one after the other. It's so hard when it feels like I am carrying and hundred tons behind my back however my feet move.

One after the other, slowly I feel that I am getting into the light. The darkness is fading behind me now, the more I walk the more the light is fading from the dark. I must run, I must run towards the light no matter how hard it is.
