Chapter 220

Chapter 220

Lewis stood at the door holding an exquisitely wrapped bouquet of baby's breath. He was a bit stunned to see his unreliable sister there, he asked her in a slightly disgusted tone,

"What are you doing here?"

Amelia looked at her useless brother up and down. He actually bought flowers ,she had never seen him buy any even for their mom's birthday.

"I came to talk to Ms. Davis about something. Do I need to tell you I'm coming?"

Lewis raised an eyebrow, his eyes moved between the two women.

"Don't come bothering Ms. Davis at work if there's nothing important."

Amelia snorted and muttered quietly,

"If you weren't so useless, would I still be calling her Ms. Davis?"

Lewis glared at her in warning, and Amelia shut her mouth in fright.

Ava sat at her desk expressionless, completely ignoring both of them.

Lewis walked in and placed the flowers on her desk.

"Saw these on the street and thought they looked nice, so I bought them. I heard this flower lasts longer. Should I have my assistant arrange them for you?"

Ava looked at the bouquet ,it didn't look like something casually bought on the street at all. Lewis had been considerate of her feelings these past few years,he never crossed the line, he always choosing his words carefully. He knew that if he said he'd specially ordered them, she would definitely tell him coldly not to buy anything next time.

Which of the things he'd sent over these four years wasn't carefully selected?

"Lewis!"

Ava looked up at him, her expression quite helpless. She looked at his sister sitting on the sofa and said bluntly,

"What's the point of wasting your time here with me?"

Lewis's expression became serious.

"How do you know I'm not enjoying myself?"

Ava was surprised.
"I need to work now. Please close the door on your way out."

Lewis had heard this kind of dismissal too many times and had become shameless about it. Normally he could stick around a bit longer with a thick skin, but with his sister sitting there watching the show, it was really annoying.

"Then I'll take Amelia with me. Dinner together this weekend?"

Ava opened her computer without even looking up.

"We'll see. I have a lot of work."

Lewis walked over to the sofa and reached out to pull his sister up. Amelia bristled like an angry cat.

"What are you doing? Ms. Davis is kicking you out, not me. Why are you dragging me? I haven't finished talking to Ms. Davis yet."

Without a word, Lewis pulled her up and dragged her straight out of the office.

Emerald City.

Robert arrived at the international airport with the two kids and Aurora. His assistant in Emerald City was already waiting to pick them up.

Robert got Aurora and the kids into the car.

"Samuel, Sophia, let Jeffrey take you back to the hotel first. I'll take you out to play after I finish work. Listen to Aurora, and if anything comes up, call me. If you can't reach me, contact Jeffrey, okay?"

Jeffrey Adams was Robert's capable assistant stationed in Emerald City.

The two children got into the MPV and said in unison,

"Got it, Uncle Robert."

Robert gave Aurora and Jeffrey more instructions, then he rushed to hail a taxi. He had a contract to sign in the afternoon, and if he took the kids back first, he'd be late, so he had to leave the task of settling the children to his assistant.

In the MPV, the two kids became lively once free from Robert's supervision. They drank yogurt and gestured excitedly. The car drove back to the hotel, and Jeffrey left after getting Aurora and the two kids to their room.

While Aurora was unpacking, Samuel opened the computer, his little hands flew across the keyboard. After a few minutes, he called Sophia over.

"Sophia!"

Sophia came running over, hugging her favorite strawberry bear.

"Samuel, you called me?"

Samuel leaned close to her ear and whispered a few words, then instructed her.

"Got it? Know what to do?"

Sophia nodded.

"Can we really find Daddy?"

"Yes, as long as we work together well, we definitely can."

Sophia nodded obediently.

"Let's do it! I promise to complete the mission!"

The two children were plotting their big plan while Aurora was completely unaware.

After dinner, Robert came back. Seeing that the two kids had been well-behaved, he pulled Samuel and Sophia onto his lap.

"I have time tonight. Where do you want to go? Those tourist spots probably aren't open at night. We could go to a children's playground, or ride the Ferris wheel to see Emerald City's night view, or do you have other ideas?"

Sophia's big eyes rolled around.

"Uncle Robert, can we go see the CBD?"

Robert raised an eyebrow, quite surprised by Sophia's suggestion. He hadn't expected the child to be interested in the CBD.

"Sophia, why do you want to go to the CBD? That's where adults work, its not suitable for kids to play. How about I take you to Fun Castle instead?"

Samuel frowned.

"Uncle Robert, you're so boring. Who comes to Emerald City to go to Fun Castle? Aren't all the Fun Castles in the world the same?"

The kid had a point. Robert laughed awkwardly and asked,

"So Samuel, do you agree with Sophia? You also want to go to the CBD?"

Both kids nodded frantically.

Robert really couldn't think of anything suitable for kids at the CBD, but under the children's strong insistence, he agreed to take them there for a look. Besides, it would be good to broaden the kids' horizons - they'd have to take over the family business sooner or later.

Samuel jumped down from Robert's lap, opened the computer and typed away for a while, then put his phone watch on his wrist.

Robert watched Samuel at the computer like a little adult.

"Samuel, what are you doing on the computer?"

"I'm installing a location tracking system."

The family all knew Samuel was a little genius who'd been interested in electronics since age three, but they didn't know he'd secretly modified his phone watch. That unassuming little watch was now a mini computer.

He installed the location tracking system on the phone watch and synced it with the computer, so it could record the route he was about to take.

Samuel: "I'm ready. Let's go?"

Robert went downstairs holding each child's hand. Jeffrey was already waiting below.

The two kids got in the car. Samuel looked out the window.

"Uncle Jeffrey, can you follow the route I specify?"

Jeffrey started the car and smiled into the rearview mirror.

"Sure, today we'll follow your navigation. Just remember to tell me in advance when we need to turn, okay?"

Samuel: "OK, let's go!"

The car slowly merged into the main road, heading toward the CBD.

Along the way, Samuel looked at his phone watch screen, directing the route, and kept making marks on paper with a pen. Robert was particularly curious about his genius nephew. Seeing what looked like a route drawn on the paper, with circles, checkmarks and various marks at intervals.

"Samuel, can you explain to me what you're drawing on the paper?"

Samuel shook his little head.

"It's a secret!"
