Chapter 46 Wendy Is in Trouble
Chapter 46 Wendy Is in Trouble
Seraphina thought she must have heard wrong and raised her eyebrows slightly.
"Who did you say is getting in the way of someone else's relationship? Me?"
Leila snorted coldly, crossing her arms: "Yeah, who else could it be but you? I've never seen anyone so shameless!"
"Leila, Michael and I are legally married with a marriage certificate!"
Seraphina was simply speechless, but Leila just wouldn't let it go.
"So what if you have a marriage certificate? Michael doesn't have you in his heart, which makes you the extra one. I really don't know how you have the nerve to stay by his side!"
"A woman like you who only knows how to do housework - forget about him, even if I were a man, I wouldn't want you!"
Seraphina nodded slightly and took a photo of the teddy bear in her hand.
"Don't worry, whether you're a man or a woman, nobody would want you either way."
"What did you say?"
Leila's expression changed instantly, anger blazing in her eyes, but Seraphina wasn't scared at all. She turned to face her anger head-on.
She curved her lips into a mocking smile.
"What, did I hit a nerve, so now you're embarrassed and angry? Don't think I don't know what you're planning. Once Michael and I divorce, even if his heart is temporarily focused on Susan, you can still use your childhood friendship to get his attention."
"But as long as he's still married, you can't make your move on him!"
"However, instead of pushing me here, you might as well tell him to divorce me as soon as possible!"
With each sentence, she moved closer to Leila.
Leila's mouth twitched with anger, but she couldn't say a word to argue back.
Because Seraphina had seen right through her!
So in her embarrassment and anger, Leila pushed her hard. Seraphina stumbled back two or three steps before barely stopping.
Leila said through gritted teeth: "So what? Right now, you're the one being left out of this relationship, so you're the shameless third wheel!"
"Your husband and your children won't belong to you anymore. Even if I can't have Michael, I'd rather look at Susan than look at you!"
"Seraphina, you don't deserve anything. You should just die alone!"
After saying this, she snorted coldly and left with her head held high.
Seraphina couldn't be bothered to argue with her and didn't feel these words could make her angry at all.
She shrugged and turned back into the boutique.
She didn't notice that in a corner not far away, Wendy was pulling Alicia, looking angrily in the direction Leila had left.
Soon, two more days passed.
That evening, Seraphina prepared a nice dinner early and waited with Alicia for Wendy to come home from work.
At five o'clock, Seraphina sent her a message, and she said she'd be home soon.
But by six-thirty, she still hadn't returned.
Seraphina called her in confusion, but the phone was turned off!
This made Seraphina feel somewhat panicked.
Something was wrong. Wendy would never be this late and have her phone turned off.
She must have run into some trouble!
With no other choice, she could only ask Warren for help. After all, besides Michael, he was the most capable person she knew.
Soon, the call was answered.
"Mr. Churchill, sorry to bother you, but I've run into some trouble. Can you help me?"
Warren chuckled softly: "Of course I can. I thought we were already friends!"
Only then did Seraphina briefly explain that Wendy hadn't come home from work and her phone was turned off.
"I know Wendy is only an hour later than usual, but she's a very punctual person. She's almost never late, and she would never turn off her phone!"
"Anyway, I have a bad feeling about this. Mr. Churchill, can you help me look into it?"
Seraphina clutched her phone, feeling anxious and uneasy.
Fortunately, Warren quickly agreed: "Of course. Leave this to me."
After hanging up, Seraphina looked at Alicia at the dining table and rubbed her little head.
"Warren agreed to help find Wendy. Let's eat first."
Alicia was so hungry she was about to faint. She nodded hard and started eating the food in big bites, but Seraphina had no appetite and kept worrying.
Time passed bit by bit. It was already nine in the evening, and Wendy still hadn't come back, with no news about her at all.
No matter how many times she called, the phone was always turned off.
At nine-thirty, Warren finally called.
Seraphina's hands were shaking as she quickly answered: "Hello, how is it? Any news?"
"There's news, but the situation isn't good."
Warren spoke seriously, and Seraphina's heart clenched: "What happened to Wendy?"
"My people found out there was a car accident this evening. Based on the license plate, it should be Miss Harrison's car. The car that hit her happened to be Susan's, and they got into a heated argument."
"Later, Miss Harrison and her car were taken away, and there's been no word about her since."
Seraphina's mind went completely blank.
She hit Susan's car? How could it be such a coincidence!
"So that means the people who took her were Michael's people!"
Warren was silent for a moment, then replied: "You could say that."
"But if they don't admit it, we don't have any evidence."
Seraphina gripped her phone tightly and took a deep breath.
Right now, she needed to stay calm.
"Okay, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Churchill."
After saying this, Seraphina hung up.
It seemed the most urgent thing was to find Michael first, then she could find out where Wendy was!
Since she didn't know where Michael was, Seraphina could only remove his number from her blocked list first, but Michael wouldn't answer his phone either.
With no other option, she could only call his company.
One of his secretaries answered the phone.
"Who are you looking for?"
Seraphina took a deep breath and said quietly: "This is Seraphina. Please get Michael for me."
Michael's secretaries almost all knew who she was.
However, because of Michael's attitude toward her, they naturally wouldn't give her a friendly reception either.
"Sorry, Mr. Talbot is in a meeting and doesn't have time for your call. Please call back later."
Seraphina couldn't hold back her anger and raised her voice: "You just need to give him the phone, I'll talk to him about the rest!"
"Sorry, do you not understand? I said Mr. Talbot is in a meeting and doesn't have time."
After saying this, without even waiting for Seraphina to speak, she hung up directly.
Seraphina held her phone and couldn't help but laugh in anger.
But now, at least she could confirm one thing - Michael was at the company right now!
Fortunately, Alicia was already asleep.
She left a note explaining why, then grabbed her coat and rushed out the door without hesitation.
