A CLEANER'S JOB

LAURA

Laura stood in front of the receptionist, she was nervous because she was sure the receptionist will ask for a CV. She looked like the type who will ask for one and in case she knows she wasn't carrying any, she wouldn't think twice before chasing her out of the company.

She saw how the lady in question yelled at a man who didn't clean her office properly.

It's not like she is hoping for some luck for that day. Even if she had good luck from the beginning, she was sure she had run out of it. Maybe she should just go back home in peace. Just as she was about slowly take a step back, she was instantly stopped.

"How may I help you, young lady?"

Laura froze, and slowly took her gaze at the receptionist lady. She was putting on transparent glasses which revealed her thick brows. She could be best described as an average beauty and a werewolf. She guessed the owner of the company must be a werewolf.

This is because werewolves don't work in a company owned by a human. She cannot tell why, but that was what she had noticed.

"I..I...Uhm," Laura was short of words to speak since she was worried that the lady might ask for a document she did not have.

"Looking for someone?"

"I...I want a job," she blurted out way before she realized the words had left her mouth.

"Oh that. Well, I'm sorry you will have to come back tomorrow. I would have loved to help you, but you see, this is an important event and I can't risk my head not welcoming important guests because I'm focused on you."

Laura swallowed hard, it wasn't as if she wasn't expecting it. She knew her luck had run out. Well, that's just how it is she guess.

"Cici, have you prepared the documents I asked you to?"

"Yes, Naomi, I'm done."

Laura took a glance at the lady called Naomi and her wolf suddenly became restless. What could be wrong with. ......

Naomi took her gaze over to her direction and instantly paused. She slowly walked over to her. Laura began to wonder if the lady knew her from somewhere because she could swear that she hadn't seen her before. And she looked quite heavy with a child.

"Hello young lady, have we met?" Laura shook her head in disagreement.

"I'm not sure."

"I haven't seen you before and yet you look quite familiar and beautiful too."

"Why are you here, if I may ask?"

"I..." Laura trailed off. Was there a need to explain why she was there? She should have walked away when she had the chance. Gosh. Now she was being questioned like she was already in an interview.

"She said she came in search of a job. Told her she came at the wrong time. Would have attended to her if wasn't a busy day.

"No worries, Cici, I will take it from here."

"You will. Wow, you must be lucky to be attended to on a hectic day, miss."

Was the receptionist referring to her? She must be lucky. That's not true. She can't believe that yet. Not after she is interviewed and the lady knows she doesn't have a document to show.

"Come with me, young lady."

The lady whose name she remembered as Naomi wanted her to come with her.

She slowly tailed behind the lady. While she was following from behind, she couldn't help but notice beautiful ladies all around the place with a beautiful outfits. She had never expected that she would be seeing beautiful ladies everywhere.

The company was something. It was as beautiful as her Palace.

Laura shut her eyes and took in a deep breath. She can't believe that she had forgotten the fact that she was a princess before and she had lived in a world where she was loved and respected even though not by everyone.

The lady suddenly stopped in front of an office, she turned the doorknob which immediately opened to a spacious-looking office. The lady walked in quickly but held the door open.

"Please come in," the lady gestured with her hand.

She quickly walked into the office as she was told to. Laura gaped at how beautiful the office looked. The air around the office was like a breath of fresh air. For some reason, Laura felt so at peace being in there, like she was protected by its walls.

"Do take a seat please."

"Thank you," Laura said before sitting on an empty chair she found around the area.

She watched the lady as she walked over to the office table and sat down on the chair.

The lady gazed in her direction, but Laura quickly took her gaze away from her. She could tell that the next thing the lady was going to ask for was a CV.

"You look so beautiful and the smoothness and fairness of your skin. If not for the fact that I could smell your wolf, I would have mistaken you for the white fangs."Laura's heart skipped at once. She knew it will get to that point.

She guess she have her wolf to thank for being awake, or else she was sure the lady would have caught her.

She remembered Xander always said she smelled like the vampires, even though she wasn't of age yet.

"But most of all, your scent is familiar to that of someone I know. But I can't remember who. Well, that's that. Have you worked as a secretary before?"

Laura almost choke on her spit the moment the question was asked. How was she to explain that she hadn't even worked as a cleaner which is the least Job, not to take about working as a secretary?

Laura coughed harder the more she tried to control it.

"Are you okay?" The lady said looking panicked. This is not right. The lady is heavy and it is not good for her to get all panicky.

"Yes, yes, I'm okay."

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked you that without knowing the kind of job you came for. So, tell me, what kind of job are you looking for?"

"I...I.. want to work as a cleaner."
