Chapter 35 Saved by the Young Master

Chapter 35 Saved by the Young Master
Quinn's POV

I lied to Grayson.

I didn't go straight to my new flat, but I went to the old one.

There was something I wanted to take from there and it was very important. Because it was the only one in this world.

I carelessly forgot to bring it because of the sudden move a few days ago.

But I thought it was safe as long as the building hadn't been demolished.

And now I just realized that what Grayson said about my old neighborhood not being safe, was true.

Because I just got off the bus, and there were already two drunk couples screaming in the street. There was also a homeless person who suddenly got up and almost touched my leg. Fortunately, I was able to dodge quickly.

Huft, it turns out that I'm luckier now because I don't live in this area anymore. However, I still can't bear to leave the house that has been my shelter and refuge for years to move to a new house.

If only I could move that room, then I would move it and put it in the new building I live in now. I meant it.

And finally after quite a stressful journey, I arrived in front of my old flat.

The door was no longer locked, it was left open like any other room that had been abandoned by its residents.

Standing here made me de javu. It reminds me of the times when Dylan and I were kids playing chase or hide and seek.

This long, damp, dark alley used to be where the little kids who lived here played. It was very crowded and now all those little kids have grown up, left this place, and have better lives.

I could feel my eyes heating up. I really missed that time when I was still happy living here with Dylan and mom.

Now, I had almost forgotten mom's face. My memory of her face is fading and I'm afraid it will disappear forever.

There's only one thing that can help me to remember her, and that's a picture of the three of us. And that's what I'll take from here, our family photo.

I decided to go in.

I didn't turn on the light on purpose so it would be easy to take the photo that I kept in the space behind the lamp.

I kept it there so the debt collectors wouldn't find it if they came to mess around. Because they'd broken into this place several times and ransacked it when I wasn't home. They thought they'd find something valuable to sell, but they didn't.

After successfully opening the lamp holder on the roof and groping around, I finally found it.

Oh, thank goodness.

I was relieved to find that the photo was still good. Although part of mom's face was blurred due to Dylan's tears in the past, at least the eyes were still clearly visible.

That photo was priceless. It was my most precious thing at this moment.

I don't intend to stay here too long because I have an appointment with the owner of the nightclub where I used to work part-time. I'll have a short interview to return to work there. The plan is not to work every day, just certain days.

But when I got off the chair and turned around, I was startled by three big male figures with one of them carrying a baseball bat, standing blocking the door.

Oh no, I recognized that body shape. They are-

"Well, look who we caught. The little mouse who has become a pet rat."

I gasped as the lights were suddenly turned on. My guess was right, the three big men were former collectors who used to collect my money every month.

But why were they here? I already paid off my debt to their boss. All of it. So we should have no more business.

And what did they call me? Little mouse and pet rat? Seriously! I'm a human! I'm going to fight them because now I'm not afraid anymore, I don't owe them anything.

So I boldly stepped toward them while girdling my loins. "You ugly pigs! Get out of the way!"

As they remained silent, I spoke again, "I've paid all my debts to your boss!"

"Who said we're here to ask for money?"

"We're here for something else."

"That's right. We have plenty of money now. And we don't work with that old fart anymore."

I backed away slowly as they began to enter, banging the baseball bat around.

I also watched around for anything that could be used as a weapon while keeping an eye on them as well. "Then you have no business here! Go away!"

They laughed out loud. One of the biggest came forward and pulled my shirt until I fell to the floor. He then crushed my legs quickly before I could get up.

"We didn't say proper goodbye yesterday. So let's do it now little mouse," he said lewdly.

Catching a bad signal, I immediately rebelled. I kicked his penis with my knee. That got him out of the way.

Then I immediately ran. But before I reached the door, my foot was hit by a hard object and I fell back down.

It was really painful. This time I couldn't get up again because it seemed like the baseball bat had crushed my bones.

Tears came to my eyes and I screamed as loud as I could. But my mouth was gagged, my hands held by them. And the big guy I kicked earlier, he was back on top of me, unzipping his pants and showing his dick.

"Don't do that! Please!" I tried to move as much as I could while enduring the pain while trying to break free.

I was outnumbered and outmatched. But I didn't want to end up like this. I don't want to be a victim anymore. I don't want to do it with them!

The last thing I could do was spit in his face. Which made him throw his hands in the air. I closed my eyes, prepared to be slapped if only I let go.

"Bastard! Get off my woman!"

I opened my eyes instantly as I heard Grayson's voice.

In an instant the three men who had surrounded me bounced off in different directions.
