Chapter 156 The Moment Before Disaster

Chapter 156 The Moment Before Disaster
Quinn's POV
Grayson has been smiling non-stop ever since we got out of the bathroom. How could he not? He won so much there. Whereas I had to bend to his will or he wouldn't have come out of there.
But honestly, I'm also happy about what happened. Now on this bed we can finally enjoy each other's company again, which I thought would never happen again.
However, Grayson's attempt to convince me was successful. Now at least I know that he will be by my side if there is a problem. And for now, that's enough.
But honestly, I also don't expect Grayson and his parents' relationship to fall apart again. I just hope that this problem can be resolved properly and get a good solution too.
It's just... I'm too confused about how to start solving it.
I do believe in Grayson's sincerity, but I've come to doubt the sincerity of his family. Especially after hearing mom's explanation. But, I also don't regret the decision I made to help Mr Talon.
I don't know how mom will react when she finds out. She'll probably be very disappointed.
But what can I do, she also has no right to give advice after the fact.
"Babe, during the victory celebration party, will you come?"
I choked at the question. Not what, but if I came, it would mean I was introducing myself to the public as his girlfriend. While in this situation, I don't think it's the right time to publicise our relationship.
Just imagine if the dating news spreads. Then the media digs in and finds out the facts about Mr Talon and my mother. What would the world say? Obviously they would attack us, especially me and my mom who are obviously less influential than Grayson and his father.
So the answer I could give was a shake of my head and.... "sorry, but I don't think I can come."
Grayson raised one eyebrow with a sad look on his face. "But why? Everyone else is coming with their mates. Even the rookies. What if someone deliberately makes news of my closeness with another girl and it makes you jealous?"
I chuckled lightly even though I was screaming inside. "I won't be jealous if you explain the situation like this."
"Even so, I really wanted you to come to the party. I thought it would be a good time to tell people about our relationship."
"Grey bear." I touched the tip of his nose. "We've already agreed on when to go public. That's when I'm ready, right?"
"That's right," Grayson replied languidly.
"Well I'm not ready yet. But don't worry, I won't stop you from coming or hanging out. You're free to attend the party. Have fun after a long and tiring game."
Suddenly Grayson hugged me, making our naked bodies even closer. "But it's not complete without you. I'm having fun by myself while you're here alone."
"I'm with Dylan."
Grayson pursed his lips and rubbed his nose against my cheek. "I desperately want to take you to the important events I attend. I wanted so badly to show you off to everyone. I wanted everyone to know that I was so lucky to have you as my mate."
"So now you don't feel lucky if you don't show me off, hmm?"
"That's not it." Grayson stroked my body with his foot. "I mean, if everyone knew that you were mine, no one would dare to approach you anymore."
"Even now, right? I'm not too friendly to other men to spare your feelings, Gray Bear."
"I know. And I appreciate it very much."
I smiled slightly and smoothed his hair forward. "Then if you already know, it shouldn't be a problem right?"
"Ah Quinny, you don't seem to understand. As a man, I want to show you that you're mine. I guess all men do when they have a girlfriend."
I nibbled his nose in dismay. "Don't be afraid if others think I'm single. I will loudly and confidently say that I already have a boyfriend who loves me very much."
"And people won't know who your boyfriend is because he can't show himself."
I pointed a hand at my chest. "The important thing is that the boyfriend is always here, in this heart. Isn't that enough? You don't need validation from others. The important thing is that your own mate validates you. Okay?"
Even with a slightly irritated look, Grayson nodded. "It's good that you explained it so patiently."
I kissed his lips. "Sometimes everyone doesn't need to know everything. And that's what we have to do now."
"Sometimes I wish everyone would just disappear from Earth except us. So we can do whatever we want without worrying about being caught by the media."
I giggled. "Where would people be if they disappeared in the meantime?"
"Whatever. They can choose any planet in this solar system. As long as they don't bother us and as long as they don't try to get curious about our relationship."
Although I was evasive, I couldn't stop saying patience to myself.
Be patient, one day we will definitely be able to live this relationship normally.
Be patient, one day everyone will be able to accept the facts.
Be patient, for now we are patient first.
But however I have to look really firm so Grayson will also comply with this decision.
After all, I think this is a test of our relationship. If we pass it, I'm sure we'll last.
"But it would be funny if there were only two of us on this earth, Quinny."
I raised one eyebrow. "Where would you go if that happened? From this vast place, what kind of place would you like to visit?"
Grayson looked up at the ceiling with teary eyes. "I want to go somewhere cool, beautiful, where there is a waterfall and the grass is very green. There are swans and ducks in the river. In the fields there are sheep, cows, and dogs running around. Then there I will teach you to hunt."
"What?"
"It feels unfair that you've seen my wolf but I haven't seen yours. So I want it to happen."
"Your image of that place is really specific. Does it actually exist?"
Grayson relaxed his shoulders. "You have such vibes. It feels cool and calming but challenging at the same time."
I rubbed his head. "That's your excuse."
He caught both my hands. "Everything feels possible with you, Quinny. And if that place doesn't exist, then let's make it. Let's live there and raise our future children happily there."
Children? I didn't even know I could go that far with him.
Now I'm scared if he suddenly changes. Now I'm even scared if he gets angry and leaves after finding out my mom and his dad's secret.
I really am.
