Chapter 155 Sorry, I Had to Lie

Chapter 155 Sorry, I Had to Lie
Quinn’s POV

“Thank you, Dylan,” Grayson said as Dylan handed him the first aid kit.

Dylan shrugged. “You were really scary when you were like that. You know that?”

“I’m so sorry if I scared you,” Grayson replied, sounding sincere.

"Yes, but thank goodness you've calmed down." Dylan then glanced at me. "What did my sister do to make you soften up?"

"Hey, kid, go back to your room!" I snapped.

Dylan just stuck his tongue out at me and made a mocking face. But after that, he really did go back.

"Dylan doesn't know about this and I don't intend to tell him yet," I explained to Grayson.

"Why do we have to hide it from Dylan?"

I sighed softly. "About his condition. He could’ve a breakdown if he found out everything now. Especially if he knew that—"

"It has something to do with my family?"

"Hmmm, he might just leave your home and never come back."

Grayson lifted my chin. "All right. In that case, I won't tell Dylan. Until you tell me to, I'll keep this a secret."

I shook my head slowly. "Let me tell him. Don't you do it. Because it's not your fault. So don't make yourself someone Dylan can hate, okay?"

"Why would he hate me?"

"You can't cut yourself off from your family, Gray Bear. That's why. Even though it's not you, their blood runs through you. And that's probably what Dylan thinks. I'm his sister, so I know how his mind works better than anyone else."

Grayson nodded slowly and rubbed my lips gently with his thumb. "All right, I'll do as you say, Quinny. But even if Dylan hates me too, I won't blame him."

"Hey, no, don't say that. I'll explain it to him properly."

Grayson smiled faintly. "Thank you. Thank you for telling me all this. Because if you suddenly left, I would be very very sad. I might spend the rest of my life looking for the reason why you left me."

I started cleaning the blood off Grayson's hand. "I'm trying not to make a decision that I'll regret for the rest of my life. Leaving you isn't that easy. You may not believe it, but even thinking about it a thousand times isn't enough. But even so, I hope you don't take advantage of this."

Grayson touched my hand as I was treating him. "Of course not. I am the luckiest man to have you. I won't deliberately make mistakes because I know you will stick by me. Likewise, I hope you won't immediately leave if you hear something bad about me. I'd rather you explain the problem to me. That way I'll know where I went wrong and can fix it."

I just smiled slightly in response.

"Anyway, can I know what Hanz said to you?"

I paused for a moment. "Just what you heard from him. Exactly that." Then I continued what I was doing.

"Including your mother's whereabouts?"

I tensed up for a moment. But I quickly hid it. "No. Hanz hasn't told me where my mother is."

Grayson suddenly held both my hands. "Quinny, was I wrong to confront Hanz?"

"What do you mean?"

"I thought Hanz had told you where your mother was. So I confronted him. I really didn't know he hadn't told you yet."

"So?"

"You can't find out where your mother is because of me."

"I can look for her later."

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."

I slowly pulled his hands away to finish the last step, covering the wound with gauze. "The important thing is that I know she's still alive."

"But it still feels uneasy to me." Grayson hit his own head. "I shouldn't have been so reckless. I should’ve thought it through before hitting him. Now he definitely won't confess even if I hit him again."

"There's no need to regret anything. It's already happened. The important thing now is that you realise, not all violence can solve a problem."

"I did something stupid again. I always do stupid things."

I quickly stopped Grayson's hand before he could hit himself again. "Stop hitting yourself, Gray Bear. That won't make my mother come here right now. So please, please, don't make things worse, okay?"

Finally, Grayson stopped hitting himself. He bowed his head deeply.

I patted his cheek. "Don't go to sleep yet. You have to take a shower before bed."

"I'll ask my people to look for your mother, babe."

"No need. I'll do it myself."

Because I didn't want Grayson to get involved, my mother was in danger.

For now, I still didn't know whether Grayson's family had forgotten about my mother or still felt they had to bring her back to their pack. So for now, I think it's better if Grayson doesn't get involved in the search either.

"Why? Are you afraid I'll mess it up?"

"It's not like that. Just focus on your games. I don't want this problem to cost you the championship title you've held for years. So make up for your guilt by winning the same award as in previous years, okay?"

Grayson finally lifted his head. His eyes were teary. And then he nodded slowly. "Alright. I won't disappoint you. I'll be the champion again and I'll make you proud."

"That's the Grayson I know. Now, let's go to the bathroom. I'll give you a bath. You can't sleep in this dirty state."

Who would have thought that Grayson would suddenly lift me up, carrying me in front of him like a koala.

I patted his shoulder. "Put me down. You'll make us both fall."

"I think I'm sober enough now. I know where I'm going. I know what I'm gonna do, babe."

I bit his ear. "You're always enthusiastic about things like this."

"I wanna take away your sadness."

"That's just your excuse. The truth is, you're really happy because I said I'd bathe you, aren't you?"

Grayson laughed silently. Even so, my body still trembled.

“I’ll give myself to you willingly, Quinny. You can do anything to me tonight. I’ll obey.”

I slapped his butt. “My naughty boyfriend needs a lesson, doesn’t he?”
