Choose to Avoid

“Laura?” Jennifer stared at Laura, shaking her body. She couldn't believe that her best friend would become a crown princess.

Laura froze. She didn't blink her eyes because she was too shocked. All her classmates immediately gathered around her. "Good grief! Laura! Am I dreaming?”

Laura was still stunned. At that very moment, her cell phone rang. All her friends' eyes were focused on her cell phone. Stevan's name appears on the cellphone screen. The atmosphere in the class suddenly became excited.

“OMG! I feel like I'm watching a trailer for a romantic drama," said Laura's friends, who were excitedly teasing.

Laura immediately answered Stevan's call. "Hello?" Her friends tried to eavesdrop. However, she told them to stay away.

"Where are you? I'm already in the campus canteen. Come out for a moment. I want to meet you," said Stevan.

Laura immediately turned off the phone and stood up. “Where are you going, Crown Princess?" Jennifer asked.

"Shut your mouth, Jennifer," Laura said, making Jennifer smile innocently. She then walked away from the classroom.

“I still can't believe it. Our friend becomes a fight for the campus idol and crown prince. Oh my gosh, I'm so jealous," said Jennifer excitedly.

"You're right. Laura's fate was very lucky. But what about Reynold? Isn't Reynold still Laura's fiancé?" Laura's friends feel confused when they see their friend's complicated love story.

Laura is now in the campus canteen. She was looking for Stevan's whereabouts. Not long after, she found the man's figure. Luckily, the atmosphere in the canteen was still quiet. She glanced around, making sure no one saw her. She then stepped over to the man.

"Why is the prince here?" Laura asked, looking at Stevan's face, which was covered with a mask. However, she easily recognized the man by his hair and eyes. She didn't expect that the man would be in the campus cafeteria. “Don't tell me you just want to annoy me." She started to be rude to Stevan.

Stevan smiled happily, seeing Laura's attitude return to normal. He just shrugged his shoulders. "You look so beautiful this morning, crown princess."

Laura immediately widened her eyes when she heard Stevan's words. She looked around, hoping no one had heard what Stevan had just said. The red blush that had appeared on her face was immediately chased away by any means possible. She cleared her throat softly, then dared to look at Stevan.

"If you don't have anything important to do, I'll go first," said Laura, leaving.

Without warning, Stevan immediately grabbed Laura's hand and took the woman away from the canteen. Laura tried to let go of Stevan's hand, but her strength was no match for the man. The two of them passed students who were busy speaking in the park. At that moment, Stevan removed the mask from his face. Many women there were jealous of Stevan and Laura's romance.

Reynold, who accidentally saw the two of them together, squeezed his hands. He was very upset and jealous. However, he couldn't do anything yet. Moreover, a royal decree had been issued stating that Laura had been chosen as a candidate for crown princess. “Damn!”

“Come on, get in my car!” asked Stevan. However, Laura remained silent and did not answer.

"If you don't want to come in, I'll carry you into the car!" threatened Stevan. Without another word, Laura immediately entered the man's car.

Stevan then put on his seat belt and started his car. "How did you react when you found out that the king issued a royal decree to choose you as crown princess?" Stevan broke the silence.

"I'm still curious. Why did the king suddenly choose me to be the crown princess? Are you threatening him?” Laura answered, looking at Stevan, who was focused on driving.

Stevan chuckled softly. "You are very funny."

“It seems that my decision to avoid you was the right thing. That way, I can control myself earlier so as not to be trapped by your love any deeper," Laura answered softly, not daring to look at Stevam's face.

Stevan immediately stopped the car. He took a deep breath, then raised an eyebrow and smiled faintly. "That's why you're avoiding me?"

Now Stevan could see the woman's eyes were starting to turn red. The woman's face was facing the car window, reluctant to look at him. Stevan let out a short chuckle. He wanted to chase the woman and force her to tell the truth. “Say everything you want to say.”

Without realizing it, Stevan felt satisfaction when he saw Laura depressed, choosing between holding back her feelings or letting them all out. Choose to remain in your position to deceive yourself or express honesty. In the end, Stevan was sure that he would win.

"What should..."

Laura's voice stopped when Stevan suddenly leaned closer to her and leaned over so he could look at her beautiful face more closely. He managed to get Laura to look at him. He really wanted her to give him a slightly cooperative attitude, but right now he saw tension on her face.

"Why is your face red, Crown Princess? Are you so angry, or are you happy to see my face right in front of you now?" said Stevan quietly.

Laura closed her eyes, then opened them as she heard the distinctive baritone voice of the man who was currently nearby. "Can you not avoid me anymore?" The voice sounded soft but firm.

Laura didn't know what to say. She just looked at Stevan, looking at the man who was smiling sweetly at her. Apart from his mature and dignified demeanor, Stevan's figure will still make her drunk when she looks into the man's eyes for a long time and she can't control her heartbeat like now.

Laura cleared her throat, just waking herself up from the man's charm. "So, what do you mean by taking me now?"

Stevan lowered his head for a moment, then looked back at Laura's face with a smile, as if realizing that Laura had just changed the topic of conversation. "To know your true feelings."

Suddenly, a bad feeling ran through Laura's head. She felt like she would be trapped again in Stevan's questions or statements that would drag her into telling the truth.

"Is the reason you're avoiding me because you don't want to be the center of attention? Or maybe you're hiding something from me, afraid I'll find out?" said Stevan again.

Laura didn't look at Stevan. She preferred to stare at the car window, trying to avoid him. She knew he was watching her, so she felt like she was being turned on in a dark room.

Stevan spoke again because his question had not been answered. "Speak! Let me see the real you, who always says whatever you feel and forms the expression on your face according to what you are experiencing."

"I feel like what I'm doing right now is right." Finally, Laura made a sound.

"Can I prove to you that your belief is wrong? Avoidance is not the right solution to solving a problem. Moreover, a royal decree has been issued. You can't just reject it," said Stevan again. He looked at Laura closely. However, the woman did not intend to make the slightest sound to answer.

"I will meet the king personally to discuss this matter. Sorry, it seems like it would be a waste of my time to explain it to you. Please take me back to campus, or if you don't want to, please open the door. Let me go alone." Laura was about to unfasten her seat belt.

Stevan chuckled, making Laura stop her thoughts. "Honestly, I would love to scream to tell you to stay where you are. But that would be a bit embarrassing." Stevan then sighed.

Laura looked back into Stevan's eyes. “Somehow, I still wonder. Why did the royal family choose me to be the crown princess? Because what I know is that it's not that easy for them to choose a future wife for the crown prince, who will later become king. Is there perhaps a hidden secret that I don't know about? I don't think I'm the one hiding anything from you, but you're hiding a lot of secrets from me. Is that true, Crown Prince?”

Stevan was silent. Laura's words seemed to trap him. He was confused about what to say because what the woman said was true. He kept many secrets from her.

"Why are you quiet?" Laura spoke again.

Stevan closed his eyes for a moment, then looked back at Laura. “Yes, I do have a secret that you don't know. The king chose you because you are not an ordinary human.”
