For the next few minutes, Joanne couldn't raise her head. She continued staring at the hard floor as she fiddled with her fingers, trying to come up with the right words to say to him. Knowing fully well that Logan was mad at her, she had to choose her words carefully so as not to increase his wrath.
“You're still not going to say anything?” Logan asked, shifting his weight to his left foot.
At that moment, she raised her head, trying to talk but instead, she ended up gulping as she rested her gaze on his hard chest.
Grabbing a glass, Logan filled it with water and after emptying the content down his throat, he said, “When you are ready to talk, you know where to find me.” He said and with hands tucked in his pocket, he began to head towards the door.
He was already taking a bend into the hallway when she ran after him and then grabbed his hand. Though her grip was weak, she managed to pull him back into the kitchen.
“You are taking my time. Just in case you don't know, I have important stuff to handle.” He snapped.
“I know.” She replied, rolling her eyes.
“Then out with it already.” She tried to speak again but still couldn't voice it out. Annoyed, Logan wriggled his hand from his grip and as he was about to start walking away, she said, “Please wait…”
“That's exactly what I have been doing for several minutes now.” He interrupted. When she didn't say anything after this, he reclined against the counter, still having his hands in his pocket, he asked, “You know I'm disappointed in you right?”
“I'm…”
“If anything, I didn't expect you to have a relationship with Van Halen to the extent that you two communicate through phone and each time I think about this, I lose my head. Tell me, what else are you hiding from me?” He asked with a firm voice, his veins bulging out as he tried hard not to yell at her.
“I'm sorry, okay. Moreover, it's not what you think.” She said, trying to counter his statement.
“Really? Then tell me.” He was heading towards her now.
“I just had to… you see, it's not really what you think. I… come on, you are making this difficult for me.” She groaned, tugging her hair while Logan looked on unperturbed. After a brief silence, he shook his head and then brushed past her.
“Aren't you going to hear me out?” She asked, trying to go after him but after receiving a death from him in response to her question, she stopped on her tracks.
Unable to say or do anything, she pulled herself towards the island table, lowered herself on the stool and then buried her head on it.

On leaving the kitchen, Logan who was still seething with anger, made his way to his next destination which was his room.
Immediately he got into his room, he banged the door shut and then reached out for his laptop that was on his study table. Before he could proceed to boot the system, it took a long while solely because he had been trying to coordinate his thoughts but it was without any progress.
Each time he remembered the phone call Joanne had with Van Halen, his mind went straight to the meeting he had with him a while ago. If he had known she was establishing a relationship with him earlier, he wouldn't have hesitated to tell him off when they met.
“Never knew he had something up his sleeve.” He mumbled and then shook his head, pushing the thought behind him.
Finally botting on his laptop, he resumed watching the videos had been on for a while now. In the process of his scrolling for the next video, he stumbled on a file which was strange looking.
“When did this get here?” He asked aloud, trying to rack his brain in hopes to come up with an answer. Unable to come up with any, he began to tap his fingers against the mahogany table as he bit his bottom lips.
After what seems like forever, his curiosity which took a greater part of him made him click it open.
The clip played for just fifteen seconds before he pushed his laptop aside and then rose. With his hands across his chest, he began to pace around his room.
“Paco…” he called, shaking his head slowly.
“Things do happen, right?” He chuckled dryly before taking his position in front of his laptop again.
“Who would believe Paco was killed by his son?” He asked and on a cue, pushed his chair backwards. After ransacking his wardrobe, he pulled out a t- shirt and then threw it on as he hurried towards the door.
In his haste, he forgot to lock his door and the moment he was out of sight, a maid who had been monitoring his movement, sneaked into his room.
Running her eyes around, she began to contemplate on where to start her search from. The moment her eyes fell on the cabinet, she hurried towards it and then pulled it open.
Tumbling the documents outside, she began to flip through them until she had absorbed the information it contained. The next thing he did was to start scrolling through his laptop, opening different files to divulge the information they contained.
Logan was still hurrying through the hallway as he tried to close up his buttons. Suddenly, he touched his pocket as he slowed down his movement.
“Dammit, I forgot my wallet.” He said, making a u turn in the direction he had come from.
Still maintaining his earlier pace, he headed towards his room. He only slowed down when his eyes landed on his door that was slightly opened.
Walking cautiously towards the door, he tried to peep through the keyhole but instead of going with his instinct, he pushed the door open and the maid who was still on his laptop rose, shaking with fright.
