Some things are better off forgotten, but definitely not one that came with such heavy weights on his shoulder, it only took a while to arrive at the location with Joanne sitting close to him by the car, all through that while he had said nothing, merely Staying quiet all through the length of the ride.
She hated the silence, and more because it was coming from a man who just moments ago was making jokes with her, which changed so soon.
The trip to the hospital had been merely short,a few tests here and there with a watchful guard and a cranky partner.
She tried making subtle jokes with him, but he seemed not concerned.
When he sat in the seat that afternoon and they started the trip home after shutting the door, the car felt infinitely different than it usually was, it was warm, yet quiet enough that she could hear her own heartbeat and cold enough it left a thrill that traveled down her soul.
Was it his body putting out that much energy or was it just her mind that was incessantly playing a trick on her?
It was starting to drizzle outside, soft paddling raindrops hit the windshield, running down the glass and blurring the outside world.
There were three In the car yet it felt like she was alone with him in such a small space.
“Put the music on, it is getting too goddamn boring." He muttered the first word since that morning.
The driver pushed play, a soft song played
quietly on the radio making the situation more difficult for her to process, she couldn't help but notice it was the same station she listened to sometimes while alone, and those times it had always left behind a dark feeling in her conscience.
The car finally, they listened as the driver shut the ignition from the car, he alighted from the car sensing the tension and leaned against the door outside waiting for the two to alight.
Logan was the first to make a move that was stopped by Joanne.
“Wait” “She rushed out of her lips, putting one hand on the door as if she could stop
him.
He glanced at it and then back at her, his gaze conveying he would remove it if she didn’t.
“I’m telling you, there is nothing going on with —”
She was about speaking but she could see how uninterested he was, to think about it, what if all of this is not about that?
She thought to herself.
He didn’t say anything, but his stillness made her believe there were many thoughts buried deep in his mind.
She swallowed. “Logan,please… Just listen.”
He didn't speak, instead his gaze burnt Into her enough that she let go of the door. He walked out but she walked out behind him …
“Are you fine?" She asked while they Stood on the porch.
He had a look of concern on his face when he turned to look at her, his face giving out the aura of the disdain he felt—
“Why do you ask?"
“You've been quiet all evening since we left home and now you still have that look on your face."
He had promised himself he wouldn't get himself too angry about the situation than he already was, slowly he shook his head.
“I am fine." He sighed. “Is that all?"
“But—"
“I am fine!" He sounded a bit agitated.
She watched as he walked in, she tried wondering what could have made him act this way, her mind kept reflecting on just one thing over and over again…
“Van Halen's call." She mutters to herself, it had to be that and nothing more.
Walking back to her room, she is a bit furious, not at herself or Logan at that moment but something totally different, she hated that feeling of guilt she felt.
With Clenched fist pounding the bed, once again her mind drifts back to the call. She tried weighing it in her mind on how important it would be to really see him… But Logan?

Who calls men the only scum!
The door swung behind him, creating a heavy wave when it shut close.
The fact resounded in his mind, drowning havoc on his nervous system, he heard a knock at First he groaned to himself.
”Why won't you let me be!”
He opened the door thinking it was Joanne again, instead he found a maid at the door.
“Someone came with a package for you .”
She hands him a box he took from her hands. He opened and smirked at the content.
" Is the delivery person still at the door?” He asked.
“Yeah, I asked that he wait."
“Good!"
He walked back to his safe. Without a word to her, he typed out a code and the safe opened,he saw the maid look away, Probably not wanting to pry.
He picked out a bundle of cash and walked back as his fingernails dug into her palms.
How does even address this, how should he make it clear that he didn't want anyone to know about the package, he’d never found it so difficult to speak with someone before, but all rational thoughts flew away as he was divided on who to trust and not to.
“You.” He hesitated. “Give this to the man that delivered this.” He threw half a bundle.
“And this is yours, I don't want anyone knowing about this.”
Her gaze flicked to him. A hint of amusement played in it, though it wasn’t normal amusement. Her Cheeks warmed. “I won't tell a soul.”
He let out a sardonic breath. “Good for you, it is best you keep this to yourself, mistake… if I find out this from another soul, you are gone!”
She swallowed her breath and walked out, alone he took out the contentsh of the box.
Whatever it was in a way was perfectly camouflaged.
He took out a hard drive and smirked.
He had his first evidence.
