“Stop him.” The chief guard yelled at his colleagues as they tried to catch up with him but all their efforts were in vain. After an intense chase which left them drained of all their energy, they returned to the building.

“You couldn't catch him?” Joanne asked and immediately all eyes were turned in her direction. Seeing her stern look, they all bowed their heads, unable to say anything.

“How can a single man outsmart twelve of you? What is your use then?” She yelled, tossing the apple she was feasting on aside.

“We tried our best.” The leader amongst them said. “We are sorry, we will give our all next time.” He added.

“There will never be a next time. Since he outsmarted you, what makes you think you can hold him down?” She snapped and with heavy footsteps, she stormed back inside the house.

The first place she stopped at was his room which was in a huge mess. Looking around, she tried to find anything that could give him away but finding none, he turned around and then returned to her room.

“There is no point calling him since he will ignore me.” She muttered, flopping her phone on the bed.

Meanwhile, Logan was maneuvering between cars as he tried to meet up with time. Getting to the address he had received in thirty minutes was going to be a tough task but since he was determined to find out who the person was and the information he had to offer, he was spurred to beat the time.

Exactly thirty minutes later, he pulled up in front of a pub. Taking his helmet off his head, he began to look around the vicinity as people thronged in and out.

Sighing, he placed his helmet on the bike and then began to walk briskly into the building. He was cautious with his movement, making sure to look over his shoulders and around him just in case he was being followed.

Getting to the middle of the pub, he remained in a position and then began to dart his eyes around in hopes that his host would sight him and signal him.

Just as he was about to make a call, a waiter walked up to him with a tray of drink. Smiling, he handed him a glass with a paper attached.

Your left hand side in the VIP lounge — the paper read.

“Let's go.” He said under his breath as he set the glass down and then began to head towards the stairs that would take him to the VIP lounge.

Immediately he arrived, the man who had been watching his every move, began to wave at him. He didn't stop until he had gotten his attention.

Curiosity surging through his vein, he made his way towards the man who was already walking towards his direction. Because of the brim heart he was wearing and the dull pub light, he found it difficult to capture the man's face.

“You made it on time.” The man chuckled with a hoarse voice.

“Who are you?” Logan asked, peering close so he could have a good glance of his face.

“My identity isn't important here.” Came his response and after a few minutes of silence he lowered his head as his hand made his way to his hat and then he took it off, exposing a bald head underneath.

“Who are you?” Logan asked for the second time, taking in the appearance of the man who was now staring back at him.

Apart from his bald head, one other remarkable feature was that he had a missing eye which he had covered with a patch, giving him a look of a pirate.

“Let's sit somewhere comfortable.” The man said as he replaced his hat. Trailing after him, Logan reached out for his phone and then began scrolling through his files hoping he could strike a resemblance with that of the man.

He was still on his phone when someone bumped into him, spilling the content of her glass on his body.

“Dammit.” The lady mumbled as she began to wipe the drink off his body. “I'm sorry sir.” She said and when she was done, she wanted to brush past him but he pulled her backwards.

“Hand over the wallet.” He said, narrowing his gaze on her.

“She doesn't have your wallet.” Her company said in protest, shooting him glares.

“Don't let us create a scene, just hand over the wallet.” He said, maintaining a calm tone. When the lady wouldn't return his wallet, he retrieved it from her purse only then did he let go of her hand.

“Work on your skills.” He said to the lady who was staring back at him in surprise. She had no idea he had caught her when she slipped his wallet out.

“That was a nice one.” The man said. They were already sitting on the bar stools behind the counter.

“Are you going to keep dragging the time instead of focusing on the reason you sent for me?” Logan asked impatiently.

“Chill man.” He replied, gesturing to the bartender who didn't waste time in appearing before them.

“A bottle of whiskey and two glasses of ice cubes.” He said and after giving a nod the bartender disappeared.

When the drink arrived, he filled two glasses and then pushed one to Logan before taking a sip of the one before him. Logan didn't even touch his glass, all he wanted was his identity and the reason why he had invited him.

“There are better ways to take down a man and poisoning is the least on the chart.” The man said, taking another sip of his drink.

“If we don't share a drink, I won't share my information with you.” He said. Realizing the man meant business, Logan gulped down the content of his glass in a go and then took another shot.

“Let's end everything now.” He said with a tone of urgency.

“Okay.” Came his response as he pulled out an envelope from the briefcase he had been holding all along. After examining it, he placed it on the table and then pushed it towards him. Smirking, he emptied the content of his glass down his gullet and then walked out without a word to him.
