Chapter 98

Chaos broke out the moment Malachi said that sentence. Their minds were fueled up with rage, eyes with hatred and heart with no mercy, these were exactly the way Malachi troops looked like at that moment. No one waited for a signal, the blood moon pack attacked the moment they saw a threat. There wasn’t a chance of waiting until everyone was ready to give it their all, the wolves were giving it their all. Gnashing their teeth together, claws sharpened. The breaking of bones was heard as they transformed into their various werewolves.

Damien connected with his wolf, his bones started taking the form of his wolf shape, he had no choice but to attack an incoming wolf head on even though he wasn’t completely in his wolf form yet. He used his sharp claws and ripped the wolf apart, pushing his hands straight into the heart of the wolf and squeezing the heart so hard it burst allowing blood to flow out from its eyes. His beta, Luca noticed this and ran towards Damien. They were both surrounded by multiple wolves who were ready to pounce on them.

Malachi came prepared. Luca said to Damien through their mind link.

We also are prepared. Damien shook his fur, huffing and puffing then raising his head high up. His dominant presence was something that every had to bow their head down for, even the enemies could not resist. Take the left and I will take the right. He said to his comrade.

Damien was ruthless when it came to taking down his enemy, he made sure to either rip them apart or tear their head off. He was good, same with Luca. It took less than two minutes for them to deal with the other wolves. They made sure to not leave any chance of survival for them, a very good job. Damien uses this chance to look for his mate who was busy fighting with everything she got. They didn’t waste time, they continued their killing.

Meanwhile, Ryan noticed that a few packs of wolves had made it into the pack homes so he followed. Ryan used his stealth to his advantage, he thought they were going to steal from the homes only to see that they were headed towards their safe house. Malachi must have had a spy planted in their midst for them to know where the safe house was. Ryan continued following them, also he mind linked some of his pack members to come with, with a couple of warriors with him they pounced on the werewolves before they could reach the forest. Ryan bit off one’s head. Shoving his claws into their hearts. He pounced on the behind of one of the werewolves, opened his mouth wide and bit the wolf’s buttocks off. The wolf howled in pain, blood seeping out from his torn buttocks.

Ryan chuckled to himself. He really got this wolf good, eventually, he broke the head of the werewolf.

Delphine with her new arrows in her quiver she attacked with great skill. She kept on shooting her silver arrows straight into the eyes or head of the werewolves. Her eyes were focused on the enemies that came lurking around. It felt like an endless fight because more enemies came filling in the lands of the blood moon pack.

With her back turned, she didn’t notice that Malachi had his eyes fixed on her. Malachi grinned, his eyes crazed with the obsession of power. He finally won, he did it. Now no one could stop him, he raised his staff and pointed it at Delphine’s back. With that crazed smile, he chanted the incantations and the staff glowed. This made Malachi even more crazy. Yes! Yes!!

Although the staff was already drawing in powers, he noticed that it had no effect on Delphine; rather , he felt weak as the moments passed by. That was when he noticed that the gem in his necklace had died out. It was no longer magical, the magic that once ran in his veins was all gone.

For the first time in all his years of living, Malachi felt fear. Fear made his heart run cold, fear made his mind numb, fear made him want to flee.

The witch must have deceived him. That disgusting creature must have intentionally done this to him. How he wants to shred that witch skin. How dare she deceive him. Malachi’s mind was in a frenzy. He was confused; the well-laid plan was shattered.

In the midst of fighting and chaos, a man stood in the middle shaking from anger…or he was now scared? Still, he wouldn’t let Delphine know. He will kill her; the throne would still be his.

He raised his left hand which was holding the staff, with tremendous strength he used the staff to hit the hard ground.

Pfft! Malachi fell to the ground, the staff a few kilometers away from him and above him was a big angry werewolf. Damien.

His eyes held questions. What was Malachi planning to do with that staff? Was he planning to hurt Delphine while she was unaware? He wasn’t surprised, Malachi was a coward who only put on a facade.

Malachi didn’t waste time though, he raised his leg up sending a direct kick to Damien’s hind leg. The kick was so strong that Damien had to hound up a little, but Malachi was fast. He swiftly got up and stepped a couple of steps away from Damien.

Damien Gnash his teeth at Malachi, growling at the wicked man. Then, he pounced. Malachi moved away from him, making Damien pounce in thin air.

“Too slow,” Malachi said.

You are the one that’s too slow, old man. Damien said to himself and pounced again, this time he was able to leave a bite on Malachi’s shoulder. Malachi wasn’t prepared for this impact, he groaned in pain. Pressing his hand against his shoulder he took in the pain. He stared at Damien with hatred. If only he still had his powers, Damien would be nothing but dead meat.

Malachi, knowing he couldn’t fight against Damien at the moment and he needed to heal, quickly disappeared into thin air. Damien scoffed, what a coward? Did he really think Damien would let him go that easily? Damien faced the other werewolves, eyes searching for Malachi, thinking of where he must have disappeared to.

The fight continued with the same level of intensity. Blood moon pack grounds would be a marking of what had conspired today. The blood spilled on the ground was in need of great cleansing. Delphine’s arms were already feeling numbed but her desire to win was her fuel, she kept on shooting and killing their enemies, not giving up one bit. Her mind still was checking up on Damien to make sure he was okay; their bond was still there making her feel satisfied as she kept on killing.

She unsheathed her sword and fought the last set of werewolves on the eastern part of the blood moon pack. She heaved, her chest rising and falling as she kept on taking deep breaths. Her cloak had already been forgotten once the battle began, sweat was already flowing down her eyebrows. Her clothes had blood stains on them which made her scrunch her nose up in disgust.

Once she already caught her breath she made her way to a hill top, there she could see the fight clearly. The way werewolves hit werewolves, people ripping themselves apart, clashing of swords, all to protect her, their Luna and the pack from Malachi’s evil clutched. Delphine remembered that her mother used to say her uncle wasn’t always like this, he changed. But why did he change? She has no clue. Or had he always been envious of the powers she possessed and he wants it for himself. Was that it? Anyways all she knew was that he was evil, too evil for this earth.

Her chain of thoughts was broken when she felt a sudden pain in her chest. It was a sign. Damien.

He must be injured, Delphine jumped down from the hill top and rushed towards where she sensed Damien’s presence. She ran in full speed towards the location. There she saw Damien at the northern part of the blood moon pack. Damien werewolf was hunched over in a corner; his bloody werewolf teeth were out snarling at the other werewolf that bit his hind legs.

“Damien!” she shouted.

This turned their attention to her, Damien was able to use this to his advantage, he hit the werewolf in the skull, dragged his claws all over the werewolves face.

Delphine was about to use her sword to stab one of the wolves when the scene changed. A flash of bright light passed through her eyes, then countless stars and eventually she fell, face flat over a dark ground. She rubbed a hand over her forehead that had hit the dark ground.

With her hands akimbo, her mouth fell open when she saw where she was, a land of nothingness. It was black and white, colorless. Surprised, she stood up in shaky legs. Her sword was no longer with her, her bow and arrows were also gone. It was just her with nothing to defend herself in her own world.

How did she teleport into another world?

“Welcome to my world, my dear niece.”

She turned to see Malachi standing under a black and white tree, staring at her. His long hair falling on his face and covering his right eye.

Delphine gulped. “Hello uncle. Long time no see.” She tucked her hands in the pocket of her jeans.

Malachi nodded. “Oh shut up, it hasn’t been that long.” He stared at nothing in particular, his eyes dazed. Delphine looked at him, staring into his eyes trying to see his soul, but it was as if an impenetrable black wall was covering her eyes from seeing what was behind that wall. “Anyways, how do you like my world?”

Delphine shrugged. “It’s as colorless as your heart”

Malachi laughed. “Yup, that’s why it stemmed from within me” he removed his hair that was covering his other eye, tucking it behind his ear. “How have you been?” He smiled sweetly.

“Get straight to the point uncle, I know you aren’t here for a tete-a-tete”

“You are right. I am here to kill you.”

Delphine had been trying to put on a strong front and could not help but feel a little scared as Malachi advanced towards her. She tried to access her powers, to feel it stem from her but it didn’t. Not even a single spark.

This made Delphine frightened. At this point in time, she doesn’t care if her actions looked like that of a coward, she turned and ran. Not caring where she was headed, she kept on advancing into the black and white world.

Since she hadn’t used her powers in a long time she felt too afraid to try and face a powerful Malachi. How could she save herself when she still couldn’t forget what happened to Lila. The pain was still there, the memory still recent in her mind. She couldn’t, she just couldn’t.

Malachi thinking, she was helpless, ran after her with a silver dagger. Finally, the time has come. Let’s put an end to this chase once and for all.
