Darrien's POV

I watch the smile on her face just before Zeus blocks me out. I feel heartbroken but I know that Zeus is the only lifeline I have left to win her back. Once he lifts the block I am in my room but her smell is in here too. Zeus lets me shift back to show that she left her shirt behind.

she wants me to be relaxed this week. If we behave she will give us a piece of clothing. If but the end of the week I have her whole outfit then she will make her decision. She said if you behave well at dinner we will get her bra. I will not be with you at dinner. SO BEHAVE. he huffs and blocks me.

Shit, I feel like I'm up a creek without a paddle. I hopped into the shower and got dressed just before I left I sniffed her shirt to try to calm my nerves. I walk down to the dining room for dinner as Tracy said. The staff asked me to sit as the other half of our party hadn't arrived yet. It is a closed room for privacy. I take a few deep breaths to try to relax. I look at my outfit god I hope I look okay. Black dress pants and a white dress shirt. I felt my pants as the vial from the witch sat heavily in my pocket. I am not sure if I should do it now or later.

The staff came to a place out our drinks out. That is it I have to take my chance. I pull the vial out of my pants and empty the water glass. I put the empty vial back in my pocket. I sat back down just as the door opened and Catherine's heavenly scent came flowing through my nose. I stood up and waited for her first move. I wanted to reach out and touch her but this meeting will tell if we will can move forward.

Catherine's POV

The staff opened the door, I saw him stiff and then stood up. I could tell he wanted to touch me and I walked to the other end of the table. It was not that big a table for 2 so our legs could touch if I was not careful. "Please" I wave to the seat. He sits and I stare at him and sit.

"I remember everything." He says as if they were going to answer a question.

"That's good to hear. Start fresh?" I ask trying not to relive that night again. I push the anger and hurt down. Remember I feel what you feel. You want to try to see if he will hurt us again. Remember he loved us before and it was good. Athena chirp.

"Yes. I would like a fresh start. Before I do I want to say I am sorry for the hurt and pain I cause." He hung his head low.

"Thank you for your apology. Moving forward. I will not return as your mate. You will have to earn my trust and respect. Then we will discuss the mateship. I will agree to be the Luna but I need you to show me that I am no longer lower than you. We will be equals. If you do not I will leave. Alpha Kayden has offered the Beta role to me if this does not work out." Staff walked in gave us food and left.

"Catherine, I completely understand. Can you share sometimes when I did not treat you as an equal during our relationship excluding the injury and memory loss part." I can see he wanted the truth. I grabbed the water and drank it all down before I spoke.

"Darrien, I submitted my proposal about upgrading our fighting training. I submitted another proposal to upgrade the border so we are prepared for attacks. I submitted a proposal to create safe areas in case of attacks like shelters in individual homes on the outskirts or schools or churches. See I have submitted one proposal every year we were together. If you ever looked at them you would have noticed that it would cost very little as it was covered by my company that offers security to all packs. If I come back I will not want to have your shrug-a-shoulder attitude towards my proposals. I want an honest shake at this pack not a pretty face that does house duties. I want more." I watched his face from nervous to shocked to concerned back to nervous.

"I just read those. I did not know you wrote them. I saw a company called "Fire Wolf Security" was covering it but I wanted to ask why. I am sorry if you felt that I didn't care enough to give you a fair shake. How about we knock down the wall that separates our offices and open all the lines of communication? We can even discuss any changes you will be my equal I will try to never take your voice for granted." We had finished all our plates.

"I like the idea of opening our line of communication, but I would rather take the wall the beta office has. That way Frank and Tracy can take my office which has a washroom and more past for both of them. We do not need another bathroom. but a little more space with give us room for another desk and a place for the pups. I also want the office to be the safe room."

"I like your idea. I never thought about Tracy and the washroom issue, because Frank never complained to me about using the public washroom in the hall. I agree with the safe room idea as well. I am sorry for not listening to your idea all the way through. What about you and I have a business meeting twice a month to keep a health committee. one week just us and the other with the Beta Family."

"Good idea. As for our pups, they are very active and will soon be here. Is Jackie still in the pack?" I could see the brightness of our possible relationship darker to sadness.

"She is currently with Council Member Mark while we attempt to rescue her mate. He will be trying to move her to another pack permanently. Council Member Mark made it clear to her to never come near me. Special after Zeus tried to kill her."

"Is Zeus with you right now?"

"No, he said I was on my own. He said that if I failed to try to win you back he did not want to see it." I could see that he looked older and more defeated.

"Can you ask him to join me for lunch tomorrow? You can be there too. I need the warmth plus I need to explain my powers."

"Yes, I will." I could see him completely relaxed but not showing any emotion. I got up and handed him a pair of black panties. " See you tomorrow."
