Heading Back to Rachel's

Kalisto and Alexios ran as fast as they could with out loosing the Alp’s scent. At times they had to stop and sniff or look around for a track to follow. “Looks like it’s heading towards Levi’s place.” Alexios said while they looked around the forest. Both agreeing they took off running faster to get there, hopefully the Alp will still be there if that’s where its going.

About an hour later they arrived at Levi’s. Quietly they walked up to the cabin. Alexios went around one side of the cabin and Kalisto went around the other side. With their guns being held straight out, holding up to their face looking through the site on it. Ready for anything to jump out at them.

As they both came around the cabin Alexios mind linked Kalisto So far nothing, but hey, look the door has been knocked off its hinges. As he was looking at the back of the cabin, he realized the door was lying on the floor inside the cabin.

WTF, it’s either here or it’s been here Kalisto, let’s go inside. Maybe it’s still here. Alexios’s mind linked Kalisto back. Carefully and quietly they both walked up to the back porch, while each stood on the side of the open-door frame. Kalisto walked in first, swinging his gun left to right, following his eyesight. Alexios followed Kalisto, doing the same. As they both walked in, they noticed nothing else was touched but the stench of the Alp hung in the air. Lowering their guns they realized they were too late.

Alexios walked into the bedroom, looking around, he saw the bed. Knowing Rachel was lying in it. He could smell her also along with the Alp. Walking out into the living room, he saw Kalisto sitting on the couch, his face in his hands and elbows on his knees.

“What’s wrong Kalisto?” Alexios asked, walking around to stand in front of him.

“Just getting tired brother, just getting tired.” Looking up to Alexios he clasped his hands together.

“I hear ya brother, but we must keep going if we want freedom. Remember? Freedom or death.” Turning towards the back door he waved his hand, directing Kalisto to follow him.

Getting up Kalisto walked out of the back doorway “I guess Levi will fix that later. Let’s head towards Rachel’s.” They both started to sprint across the yard and down the road. Not wanting to track the Alp any longer they know if they go to Rachel’s where the others are the Alp will soon be there if It’s not already.

“I’m going to let Galinn know.” Kalisto told Alexios.

“Galinn we just left Levi’s and the Alp was there, we think it will eventually be at Rachel’s so be prepared if it gets to you before we can get there. It has a pretty good head start on us.” Kalisto mind linked Galinn

“We will be ready, get here as soon as possible.” Galinn mind linked back.

“Hey everyone, Kalisto just told me the Alp was at Levi’s” Looking over at Levi he saw his face go pale. He knew what Levi was thinking, if the Alp was there, it could go back again and again.

“Alexios and Kalisto are on their way back, we need to be prepared just in case the Alp show’s up before they do. Also, it’s going to know that Leoma was in heat. The poison affects him not as bad as Leoma, but it does affect him.” Glancing at Leoma he could sense her fear also. Walking over to her he put his big arms around her waist and pulled her to his chest. Whispering in her ear “Remember baby, I will not let anything happen to you. You’re mine.”

She wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up to him, kissing his chest. He chuckled. She only came to right under his shoulders.

Levi, Jed and Rachel finished eating. Cleaning up their mess and putting the food away Rachel put her hand to her stomach.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have eaten, I’m getting a pain again in my chest and stomach area again.” Looking at Galinn with a growing concern that her pain is associated with the Alp. “Galinn?” She asked.

While still holding Rachel he looked into her eyes. “Yes?”

Should I be worried? Rachel walked over to Galinn, putting her hand on his shoulder and looking at him with a tear running down her cheek.

Galinn loosed his grip from Leoma, she took a few steps back and he put his hand on Rachel’s shoulder’s “Listen to me Rachel, I’m not going to sugar coat anything. But I think the Alp tried to take your soul. They have been told the human soul’s glow will give them great strength and other attributes. So, I don’t know if he took it, or tried but something happened, and I think you are some ways connected to him. But we won’t know for sure yet, maybe never. But hopefully when we kill the Alp then you will not hurt any longer.” Letting out a sigh, he said “I’m so sorry, wish I could give you a better answer, but I just can’t”

Jed rammed his elbow into Levi’s side “What the fuck Jed, that fuckin hurt.” Levi looked like he was going to punch Jed.

“Yeah, it should, go over and comfort Rachel dumb ass. She’s crying. You’re the one that keeps fucking her, go hold her.” Whispering to Levi, Jed shook his head as to how shallow Levi could be. Walking away he went to the living room and moved the curtains just enough so he could glance out of the front window.

“We need to set up security walks, staying inside isn’t keeping us any safer.” Jed said.

“You’re absolutely correct Jed. But we will go in pairs except myself, I will go by myself. The women will stay inside.” Galinn told the others.
