Chapter 13: The Fiancee Agreement

" Get in " Liam repeated when Lucia did nothing the first time.

Lucia walked to the backseat and was about to pull the door when Liam's harsh voice broke into her ears.

" Do I look like a driver to you? " Liam asked rudely, making Lucia retract her hand which was on the backseat door and pull the door to the passenger seat instead.

Once again Lucia was somewhere she never thought she would have to be again, in Liam's car. She took in a little bit of air and gazed on the road as their car moved at a high speed.

In what seemed like a moment to Lucia, they were at the Henderson Villa, Liam was the first to step out of the car while Lucia sat still overwhelmed by the beauty of the roadside. She didn't notice that they were at the villa already.

" I didn't bring you here to sit in my car and stare out the window " Liam's voice broke through Lucia's thought forcefully bringing her back to reality, she pushed open the door helping herself out.

Liam walked towards the door and Lucia trailed slowly behind him, getting closer to the door, Lucia noticed that Mr Williams was already outside to greet Liam.

" Welcome sir " Mr Williams greeted as Liam got closer to him.

" Thanks Williams, " Liam replied, walking past him.

" Good evening Mr Williams " Lucia greeted with a smile on her face.

" Good to see you again Miss " Williams replied politely

" Come in please " Williams ushered Lucia in.

" OK " Lucia responded and walked into the living room.

The Henderson Villa is an enormous and elegant structure built by Liam's father and owned by Liam now, there are two Villas located far from each other, one occupied by Liam, and the other by his mom. Each Villa has a main house usually occupied by the owners and two other houses for guests.

Liam's house had a dark passageway lit by fire torches which revealed some Greek writings on the wall; this path led to the living room. Although it wasn't Lucia's first time passing through this passageway, she was still fascinated by the caveman feeling walking through here gave her, if not for Mr Williams who walked closely behind her, Lucia would have clung onto the walls and tried to take pictures.

" Mr Williams, do you know what these inscriptions mean? " Lucia turned to Mr Williams as she spoke.

" I do not know what it means Miss... Perhaps Mr Henderson should " Mr Williams continued.

" Oh " Lucia muttered

Getting into the living room, Lucia saw no trace of Liam

" Please make yourself comfortable, Mr Henderson will be here shortly " Mr Williams said to Lucia

" OK " Was Lucia's short reply

" Is there anything you'd like to eat or drink? " Mr Williams asked

" A glass of water would do just fine " Lucia replied politely and Mr Williams walked to the kitchen leaving Lucia alone in the living room.

Lucia found herself a comfortable couch to sit on, her eyes instantly caught sight of the painting she stared at the previous time she came here.

She walked closer to the painting to get a better view of it, she was about to touch it when she heard Mr Williams voice.

" Mr Henderson drew that himself, he does not like it when others touch it " Me Williams said as he dropped the glass of water on the table in the center of the room.

" Oh... I wasn't aware of that " Lucia said, retrieving her hand that was almost touching the painting.

" I don't expect you to that why I'm telling you " Mr Williams responded and walked away

Lucia walked back to where she was sitting and plopped herself down on the couch. She drank the water and dropped the glass on the table.

Lucia waited for about twenty minutes before Liam came out from his room, he had gotten changed into a nightwear and his hair had little droplets of water on them giving Lucia a hint.

" Did you leave me here to take a bath? " Lucia asked angrily but Liam didn't flinch instead he dropped a document on the table

" Answer me, and what's this piece of paper? " Lucia raised her voice.

" As you can see... " Liam started, touching his noticeably wet hair and tugging at his nightwear.

" As for the documents on the table, take a look at them " Liam continued and took a seat opposite her.

Lucia rolled her eyes and reached for the documents on the table, her eyes widened when she read the heading of the document.

" A Fiancee Agreement " Lucia read out loud and raised her eyes to Liam who crossed his legs and stared intently at Lucia.

" What is this? " Lucia asked confused

" Exactly what you just read out, continue " Liam replied crudely, no expression on his face.

" Party A Liam Light Henderson, aged 23 years, residing at the Henderson Villa, nationality American, State of origin Seattle, Birthday 17th July 1999... " Lucia paused a little as she read and looked at Liam's face.

" Party B " Lucia continued

" Name Lucia Vanessa Camden, aged 22, residence, 23 Broadway Lane Seattle, nationality American, state of origin Miami, Birthday 12th May, 2000, job receptionist at Light Empire... " Lucia paused

" What the hell is this? " Lucia fired at Liam but he kept mute, leaving her no other option than to continue reading the document.

" Whereas: Party B accepts to be engaged in a profit based, non romantic relationship with Party A, non romantic meaning no romantic activities except when necessary, Party A will pay Party B a stipulated amount of money as agreed in this agreement by both parties. In order to define the rights and obligations of both parties as well as the dos and don'ts allowed by both party members, the both parties hereby agree to the following terms... " Lucia paused on the realization of what the document signified.

" Is this a business contract? " Lucia asked, she glanced through the content of the paper.

" You expect me to comply with these ridiculous terms? "

" I don't trust you, what's the guarantee that you won't run away midway " Liam replied in a hushed tone.
