Celeste
"I'm Freddy," said the boy with gray eyes and dark hair, he looked a little like Angelo, only he was thinner and a little more relaxed, as if he was always in a good mood.
He shook her hand.
“Celeste,” I said.
"Excuse my brother," he continued, "it's not always like that."
Angelo walked ahead of us to the parking lot with that arrogant way of walking as if he owned the world, he was that boy, the priest William that he was used to seeing, but this was the real side of him. Although he admitted it, I was very surprised by his invitation for me to stay with them, I didn't think he would want to see me after what I did to him.
"Oh no?" I scoffed, "I thought so."
He laughed.
"It's kind of temperamental," he simply said.
"Do you two live together?" I asked, trying to find out something about Angelo's life.
"Yes, well, I have been living with them for two weeks since I started working while I find something to stay, he lives with his wife.
I almost fell when I heard him say the word wife."
"And his wife is here? I mean, let's go home with his wife?" I asked, running out of breath.
He nodded his head as if he didn't understand me.
"Yeah..."
We drove in the car in a very stormy silence that was only filled by Angelo's brother talking about a homicide that he had to cover today and that the culprit was her husband because of an inheritance. Until we arrived at Angelo's house. It was large, two stories high, white, Angelo parked the car outside and we got out, I waited for them to enter and then I passed by.
Everything was beautiful, silent and even gloomy, I tried to see a photo of him and his wife, but I couldn't find anything. Angelo motioned for me to follow him, so I did, he guided me to the back room, when he opened the door, I noticed that it was a simple guest room, where there was a bed and a closet.
"This is your room tonight," he said.
I walked in and then turned to look at him, he kept his enigmatic gray eyes on me. I swallowed heavily.
"Thank you, uhm, are you okay?" I asked.
"Yes," Angelo said, "please don't leave this room."
He was going to leave, when suddenly I said:
"Wait."
He stopped and looked at me again.
"Will you have a shirt you can lend me to sleep in?"
That is, he had only brought what he was wearing, he had nothing to change into.
He kept his icy gaze and blurted out:
-No.
He left, closing the door abruptly.
I pursed my lips, of course, why would I think he would want to help me? That is to say, if he let me stay here it was because I made him feel sorry for me by sleeping on the bench at the station.
Uhm, would his wife know I was here?
I lay in bed looking at the window and barely managed to sleep for a few minutes when suddenly the terrible urge to urinate overcame me, I looked for the bathroom, however it was midnight and everything was dark when I went down the stairs.
I opened the first door I saw and was surprised when I saw what was inside...
