Chapter 324 Pure Unadulterated Freedom

Chapter 324 Pure Unadulterated Freedom
Fennigan didn't blink. He calmly handed Zephyr off to Leela. Leela, seeing the storm brewing in her mate’s eyes, handed the baby off to Sarah. Sarah, who was now visibly showing with her own pregnancy, took the infant carefully and moved toward the back of the room. There, Toby stood guard alongside Elana, who was still using her strap-on crutches to stay mobile. Together, they formed a protective circle around the twins and Iggy, keeping the children far from the Council's poison.
Fennigan didn't have to growl. He simply started walking, his sheer presence pushing the Councilors backward. Leela stepped up beside him, her eyes flashing gold, and the entire room followed. Fifteen Alphas, Jax, Ginny, and the "ghost" of Elias moved as one solid wall of intent, herding the Councilors out of the Hall and toward the front doors.
They didn't stop until the Councilors were stumbling down the front steps onto the gravel. Leela stood on the porch, the wind beginning to whip her hair.
"We’ve all asked why the Goddess hasn’t struck you down yet. Why she hasn't stepped in again," Leela said, her voice echoing across the lawn. "But Fenn told me... maybe she just taught us how to take care of ourselves. I have one thing to say to you: when you leave here today, there won't be a way back. The High Council can stay in the world they love so much. Let them look for power when they have no one left to bully."
The oldest Councilor, a man who had heard the stories of the elementals but believed only in his own bureaucracy, stepped forward. He reached out to grab Leela’s wrist. "We cannot let any of Damon’s 'experiments' live. The girl, the boy—they are abominations—"
The second his skin touched hers, he let out a strangled yelp, his arm jerking back as if he’d hit a live wire. A visible spark jumped from Leela’s skin, and the air around her suddenly smelled of ozone and scorched earth.
"The Goddess has brought me a long way from the girl who was lost in the fog," Leela said, her voice dropping to a dangerous hum. "I suggest you leave before I lose my temper."
Fennigan snickered, leaning casually against the porch railing while his eyes remained deadly. "I’d run if I were you, boys. I’ve been on her bad side before, and she doesn't take prisoners."
The men scoffed, sneering as they retreated toward their high-end black SUVs. One turned back, his face twisted with a final threat. "You think a few sparks make you untouchable? We will be back with the full force of the Board. You won't be so—"
"I told you," Leela’s voice rang out, vibrating with a power that made the very air crackle, "there won’t be a way back."
Before he could blink, Leela raised her hands, palms toward the sky. The clouds, which had been churning in a heavy grey mass, suddenly split. Three blinding bolts of white-hot lightning arced down, striking each Councilor simultaneously. It wasn't a killing blow, but a spiritual one. The men collapsed, screaming as the light burned through their centers, severing the link to the beasts they had spent a lifetime trying to control through science.
The silence that followed was deafening. The Councilors were no longer formidable men of power; they were now just curled-up, broken old men, shivering on the gravel.
"You are human now," Leela said, her voice cold as stone. "You have ten minutes to leave my sight before the forest decides what to do with you."
The former Councilors scrambled into their vehicles, their hands shaking so violently they could barely turn the keys. As the SUVs tore down the driveway, Leela stepped into the center of the gravel path. Her eyes began to pulse—a blinding emerald green, then a deep sapphire, then a fiery ruby, and finally a shimmering pearl. They flashed with the intensity of the ancient stones, reflecting every element she commanded.
She bent down, pressing her palms flat against the earth. A low hum started deep in the ground, vibrating through the boots of the fifteen Alphas and the Blackwood pack. With a fierce cry, Leela pulled her hands upward.
The ground groaned and heaved. In a massive display of tectonic power, a wall of jagged, impenetrable mountain erupted from the earth, sealing the driveway and rising high into the sky. It wasn't just here; Leela’s magic rippled outward, encircling the entire werewolf world in a mystical, unbreakable mountain range.
She turned back to the crowd, her eyes still glowing with the power of the Goddess. "There is no more High Council," she announced, her voice carrying to every ear in the clearing. "Everything will be handled through the packs. We will no longer be governed by a board of suits in a city. From this day forward, we are a collective."
She looked at Fennigan, who stood at her side. "Fennigan and I will serve as Alpha King and Luna Queen only to ensure that the peace is kept and that every pack has a voice. No one is above the pack."
She then turned her gaze to Veda, Thorpe, and Horne. The three Elders stood in awe, feeling the shift in the world’s ley lines.
"The Elder Council is granted the right to stay on Blackwood territory," Leela stated, her voice softening with respect. "We will set you up with your own cabins in the grove, or you are welcome to stay here in the pack house. You are our history, and we will not bury you like the Council tried to do."
Fennigan stepped forward, his hand finding the small of Leela’s back as the mountain wall settled into its permanent place. The fifteen Alphas let out a collective howl that shook the new peaks, a sound of pure, unadulterated freedom. The world had changed in a single night—the foster girls were finally safe, and the monsters were officially in charge of their own destiny.
