The Dragon King's Prophecy

THE BIRTH OF THE DRAGON DYNASTY One thousand years before Alaric, The Dragon King, and his Queen, Isabella... "Every year, my people sacrifice a virgin girl to the dragons in order to appease them. I was the chosen tribute this time. But instead of the dragon's lair in the mountains, I was thrown into the Dragon King's bed. I was given to him as a bride so he wouldn't burn us. He says my body belongs to him... But I know my soul does not." Misa is a sheltered novice of the pious Sisterhood of the Fire, her innocence protected by the walls of the temple and the strict codes of Halen-Dar. When the scarred, brutal King of Askaris arrives, mounted on a dragon and leading his army of savage warriors, Misa's father commits the ultimate betrayal against her: He offers Misa as a bride to the Askari king in order to save his own clan. Violently wrenched from her home and forced into a dark marriage of convenience, Misa finds herself utterly bound to the one man who fulfills her deepest, most terrifying nightmares. As she faces the agonizing terror of her impending innocence lost and a forced proximity with him, Misa begins to sense a strange, aching connection between her and the terrifying man she was married to against her will. Her sole purpose is to give birth to his heir. Nothing more. She is to be used as a breeder, discarded, and forgotten, so the king may secure his legacy and ensure his dragon blood lives on. But when his cold, possessive interest gives way to a volatile desire... What does it take to conquer a conqueror?
