Chapter 220
Chapter 220
Victoria hustled, and by the time she had everything set up, Lila and two other servants had brought over the rest of the items.
Victoria didn't rush to leave; instead, she took a moment to look around the storage room.
Lila noticed and chuckled, "Mrs. Hamilton, take a good look. There are quite a few treasures from Mr. Hamilton's childhood here!"
Victoria turned her head and saw Lila's mischievous smile, realizing she was being teased. She played along, "That sounds great! Maybe I'll accidentally find Edward's love letters."
Lila shook her head, "No way."
Victoria had only said it casually, but seeing Lila's confident response, she felt a bit defiant, "Why not?"
"Are you saying his things aren't all here?"
Lila shook her head again, "No, everything Mr. Hamilton doesn't use is here. I'm saying there are definitely no love letters."
"Edward is so outstanding; how could he not have received love letters?"
Victoria didn't believe it at all.
Lila smiled confidently, "There are definitely people who wrote love letters to Mr. Hamilton, but he never accepted them!"
Victoria pursed her lips and said nothing more.
Thinking about Edward's personality, Lila's words weren't entirely impossible.
Since they were dealing with wedding photos, Lila didn't just place them randomly. She directed the servants to tidy up the storage room and carefully arrange the wedding photos.
Victoria wanted to help, but Lila insisted she shouldn't. Not wanting to rush downstairs to face Li Wei, Victoria casually flipped through some items. Unexpectedly, she did find something.
She saw a box filled with paints, professional drawing tools, and brushes.
"Did Edward learn to paint?"
Victoria blurted out.
Lila, busy arranging the work and admiring the wedding photos, didn't pay much attention to what Victoria had found. Without turning her head, she answered, "No, Mr. Hamilton can paint, but he didn't study it professionally."
Victoria nodded instinctively.
Indeed, someone like Edward, with his background, would know many things.
Although curious, she thought it was normal for wealthy people like them to buy professional tools.
Victoria turned to leave but accidentally knocked over a stack of drawing paper. She quickly crouched down to pick it up and was stunned when she saw a sketch in the middle.
"What's wrong, Mrs. Hamilton?"
Lila heard the commotion and quickly asked.
Victoria's mind went blank. Without thinking, she stuffed the sketch back in the middle, tidied it up, and acted nonchalantly as she put it back.
"Nothing, just accidentally knocked it over."
Lila didn't look at the stack of papers but worriedly checked on her, "Mrs. Hamilton, are you hurt?"
Victoria shook her head.
Lila was still concerned, "Mrs. Hamilton, maybe you should go downstairs first. There are many things here, and it's dusty. If you get hurt, it won't be good."
Victoria, feeling a bit disoriented, didn't insist. She nodded and absentmindedly went downstairs.
Although she had only glanced at it briefly, she was sure she had seen a nude sketch. While the face wasn't visible, the body clearly resembled Edward.
The drawing style was very professional.
Even if Edward could paint and did it well, she believed that with his personality, he wouldn't draw a nude sketch of himself.
He certainly wouldn't let a man draw it.
So, although Victoria didn't know who had drawn it, she was sure it was a woman.
She kept telling herself not to overthink, but her mind was still in turmoil.
Victoria, preoccupied, went downstairs and saw Edward standing in the living room, staring at the wall on the second floor. She instinctively followed his gaze and saw a painting hanging there.
Victoria couldn't help but clench her fists, feeling a pang of bitterness.
Edward heard the noise and turned around, smiling, "All done?"
Victoria nodded perfunctorily, "Yeah."
Edward noticed something was off but didn't think much of it, assuming she was still worried about the wedding photos. He patiently reassured her, "Don't worry, those photos won't be seen by anyone else."
Victoria looked up at him, pursed her lips, but said nothing.
Edward found it strange and couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Don't you trust me?"
Victoria shook her head and forced a smile.
She didn't realize that her smile looked worse than crying to Edward.
He raised an eyebrow and suddenly groaned softly, "Ouch."
Victoria snapped back to reality and hurriedly moved forward to support him, "What's wrong? Is your leg hurting?"
"I told you, even though you can stand now."
"But your leg just recovered, you still need to be careful and not overexert yourself, or it could backfire!"
She spoke while trying to help Edward get onto the sofa.
Edward's body didn't budge.
"Edward, you..." Victoria wanted him to cooperate.
Edward was dissatisfied. He stubbornly didn't move and asked, "Didn't we agree you wouldn't call me that anymore?"
Victoria's face turned red.
"What did we agree on?" She lowered her head, blushing, and pretended to be clueless.
"Do you need me to remind you?" Edward asked, displeased.
As he spoke, he slipped his hand around Victoria's waist.
His nimble fingers not only made Victoria's body tremble but also caused her voice to quiver.
"No, no need." She quickly shook her head.
Unfortunately, her plea didn't satisfy Edward. She squirmed, and finally, with no other option, she blushed and whispered, "Honey."
Edward's face lit up with joy.
But he didn't stop his actions; instead, he went further.
Edward had only intended to tease her, but now he was not only making her blush but also feeling excited himself.
Victoria tried to dodge and muttered, "If you keep this up, aren't you afraid your body will have problems again?"
Edward hadn't planned to do anything, but teasing her made him impulsive. Hearing her mutter, he found it amusing, "Do you have that little faith in me?"
He deliberately leaned closer to Victoria, looking aggrieved.
Victoria's mind went blank, and she could only shake her head, "No, I don't."
Edward didn't believe her. He deliberately said, "No? I don't believe you. You have to prove it!"
Victoria wished she could dig a hole and hide.
Edward found it extremely amusing.
Just as he was about to take things further, a voice complained from outside, "In such a big house, where is everyone?"
"How come the packages are almost blocking the door, and no one brought them in?"
"Where is everyone?"
Victoria's face turned pale with anxiety, but Edward calmly fixed her clothes and then spoke slowly, "Sawyer, if you keep shouting, I'll have someone throw you out."
As he spoke, Sawyer had already arrived.
Seeing the two almost embracing, he ignored Edward's threat and instead winked and smiled, "Looks like I came at a bad time."
